Discovered this wonderfully stocked pet shop quite by chance, and can wholeheartedly recommend Urmston Aquatics, with its terrific array of animal species and everything they could need to everyone. The friendly staff offer expert advice and are extremely knowledgeable.One visit and you’ll be coming back for more I guarantee.

We visited this shop for the 1st time as our local aquatics shop in Swinton was closed due to Covid19 and was mightily impressed by the owner who showed us around his store! He explained various issues we had and accommodated our needs. He was polite, courteous and informative! We'll definitely continue to use this shop for our aquatics supplies!

Went here today for pond pump, filter, lights etc. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. Ian was really helpful. We got everything we needed plus lots of great advice and tips. Will definitely be back for anything else we need.

Purchased an aquarium online from here over Christmas as they were the best price by a distance. Literally a few days later they hand delivered the item in their van even though i am a hundred miles away...they didn't just courier it like I expected! Not sure if this usual practice! The guys carried the heavy boxes to where it needed to be and we're really friendly and genuine. Definitely recommend.

Best price and friendly service by far. Always went to the shop when I lived close by, now I’m miles away but still won’t order from anywhere else. Ordered a new tank at Christmas as the price couldn’t be beaten. Delivered by a lovely gentleman a few days later, he carried the tank in for me placed it where I wanted in and opened the packaging to check it was not damaged and contained all the pieces needed. Our new favourite fish store. Bought a new 200L tank from them which we are slowly filling up. They have a great selection fish and all the tanks are clean and nicely presented. Staff are lovely to talk to and helped greatly when picking out the tank.

Had the pleasure of popping in this shop yesterday needing some supplies for my freshwater fish tank. Being a novice, I was unsure of what I needed but the huge amount of knowledge and friendliness the staff had to offer to me was amazing. They have a vast array of stock available, loads of amazing animals and fish in addition to a great new reptile section. Would hugely recommend!

We visited today, looking for a new enclosure for our sons tortoise. The staff where extremely helpful, very knowledgeable and took the time to talk to my son and daughter (she came away with a new vivarium for her new pet frogs). Will definitely be visiting again ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The store looks great after the new refurb of the Marine section, there is a great selection of fish and coral and all look really healthy! Also the prices all very reasonable even the dry goods in store are at internet prices. The staff are all very helpful and have really helped to transform the place. Job well done. I'm sure the Mrs won't be happy when I keep coming home with bags but she's never happy anyway so..... 😆👍

Urmston Aquatics really good went with my kids it's had a re-vamp and it brilliant had a good look around all fish still down stairs lots of cold water and tropical and and live coral different my kids loved it and also the Rainforest section with snakes and crabs really nice inside and friendly staff.

Great customer service from here i got a roma 240 from them, they reserved it for me and I had problems with another store and even when I sorted them out stayed behind late on tonallow me to pick it up even the after care is great from them well recommended

Have always been impressed by the fish selection, but recently they've redone the reptile section - I am seriously impressed. Have clearly done a lot of research and put a lot of time into making beautiful and species-appropriate bioactive enclosures - which means they're well-equipped to inform customers of proper, non minimalistic reptile care. The staff are super helpful and nice, and the prices of animals and equipment are not bad at all. If I could give this place 10 stars out of 5 I would!

Purchased 4 fish on the 13th September from here (the right size and temperament for our tank). By Friday 17th 50% of our tank had died including the four purchased and some real stand out fish. An otherwise healthy and established tank with regular water checks gone thanks to the fish purchased from here. When we phoned very little help or advice was given merely to bring in water samples and carcasses and they would exchange the £18 worth of sales for new fish. Avoid at all costs if you have a healthy thriving tank!!!!

Our go-to pet shop for good advice and quality food especially of rats for our ball python but also for our fish and hamster. They also sell food and supplies for most common pets like dogs, cats, birds etc. The staff is nice and knowledgeable, the shop clean and the few animals they have are in good quality vivariums, it's great to have this shop round the corner from us. Car park behind the shop but there are also a few spaces at the front.

The staff are always very helpful. The prices are reasonable they compare well with those you can find online.

This is my go to shop for all of my pet food and supplies! Lovely staff, and a wide selection of everything you'll be needing including live animals! This shop can keep the animals in decent cages whilst they are waiting to be sold, which is my favourite part.

The staff we're so knowledgeable, and helpful getting us set up for our snake's bioactive viv up grade. We went for reptile supplies, and they definitely do reptiles as well as aquariums. Got the terrarium, lighting, substrate, springtails and a couple pieces of decor from them. Pretty sure we will be heading back in the future.

Great pet shop for a wide variety of items for different pets. We have always got all out supplies including our fish for our tank from here. Great prices and great honest advice! Animals always look well looked after and healthy.

This LFS while being 110 miles away from my home was great. I ordered an Oak Style Aqua One 230. I love the tank however the light unit broke after 6 weeks. I contacted the shop online at first and struggled to get much communication. I called them and all the issues were solved in 4 days. I got a brand new light unit in addition to buying a new Oase Biomaster Therma 600. I took a tour of their fish setup and there was a great choice and they looked outstanding. Especially the German rams. I will be using this company again. Even with the distance issue. I only rated 4 stars due to the slight communication delays.

What a gem of a shop. The staff really know their stuff and the choice of whatever you need is really good too. I went for the aquatic side of things and wasn't disappointed. I'll definitely go there again

Lovely place so relaxing downstairs with the fish. I usually ring to see if the have small crickets as they go quickly and they are great at keeping them to one side for me. Staff are always friendly and helpful, animals look well looked after

I bought a fluval shaker 252l from Urmston Aquatics, I got a message to say it was in Urmston aquatics warehouse and ready for dispatch, it come with a massive scratch inside the tank, they tried to say it come from fluval to my house, when it come from Urmston Aquatics, they wouldn’t do anything about it, I’ll be telling fluval about them and klarna who I used to pay for, don’t buy off Urmston Aquatics.

Urmston Aquatics are absolutely great, my wife bought me the Blagdon Affinity half moon pond for Christmas 2020 and I set the pond up in March 2021. In December 21 I had a fault with the transformers supplying the pump and the UVC lamp, we contacted Urmston Aquatics and explained the unfortunate situation. The guy we spoke to could not be more helpful, he run through all the possible issues and solutions, which I tried without success. He immediately offered to replace the transformer for the pump and asked if I could package and send back the transformer for the UVC. Within 5 days I received a new pair of transformers without any fuss at all and with a 2 year warranty too, now that's what I call a fantastic service and awesome customer service hence the 5 star rating. I will surely recommend Urmston Aquatics to all . Thank you very much ....... Tony Hutchings

This place is great for all my tropical aquarium and turtle needs. They even have stuff for my dog. All the staff are friendly and offer to help with all your questions. Chris was great advising me on how best to treat my turtles recent behaviour change. Honestly I don’t bother shopping anywhere else now.

Great shop with everything you could want for fish. I have marine aquariums and they have a great selection of fish and some stunning corals. Never had any issues and spent thousands here. Also very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Great prices too, can check prices on Internet before hand but can't find cheaper anywhere.

Class pet shop. You can tell the owner has a passion for the hobby. Tanks are clean fish are nice and healthy fish are fed frozen brine shrimp. Great selection of tropical fish and cold water fish. Excellent display tanks for scaping ideas. I wish I took some photos! Who knows I might be back for a pearl gourami in the future! Staff are friendly and helpful as well!

This is a great aquatics shop. The shop's focus is on fish and reptiles. Upstairs, has lots if different reptiles and fish and pet products. They have everything to do with fish and reptiles. Including a room that's dedicated to fish tanks/aquariums. There is a limited range for dogs, cats, rabbits etc... products. The first time I went in the shop, I didn't realise there was a downstairs... Wow, was I surprised when I went down. There were lots of marine, tropical and cold water fish. It's like being in an actual aquarium, minus the sharks, haha. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. It's a busy shop which it deserves to be. I was impressed with all the tanks they had and the room downstairs with them all in. There's some beauties... Well recommended. It's worth travelling to!

Great for quality of products and advice offered although not the cheapest for fish compared to other premium independent aquatics. In the last couple of years this place has really grown into a great pet store. A real asset to the area.

An exceptional shop supplying a huge variety of marine and freshwater fish, shrimp and other creatures. The staff are all really helpful and we have been back there several times even though it is 40 minutes away.

Excellent service. I ordered a 200L tank and cabinet on Monday morning, and a lovely man delivered it Tuesday evening, while he worked late, despite me missing his calls! He also thoroughly checked the glass was completely in tact before he left. Highly recommended.

Love this pet shop, I have a pond and it sells everything that I need to run it. Such value for money. If you own a fish tank, the variety of fish is incredible, especially tropical. Staff are very knowledgeable too.

One of if not the best aquatic and reptile shops in Manchester. The feeder bugs they sell are the best value for money that I’ve found. They have an awesome selection of live stock in as well as well as amazing tank set ups both fish and reptiles. The staff are really friendly and extremely knowledgeable. This is a fantastic pet store. The aquatic section in the basement is simply amazing for the size and is very well managed by the fish team, with a large marine section and a tropical section separated. There is a massive selection of species, some are unusual too. Lots of aquatic consumable products upstairs too. Always ask for advice too, the fish manager is very knowledgeable.

Great choice of saltwater and freshwater fish downstairs, however, is hit or miss with what they have in stock. Sometimes, you can pic up some amazing oddballs & rarities. Other times, you're greeted by a sea of live bearers ready for Christmas expectations. Small selection of pond fish, however, being in the back room out of the way, they are not really enticing given that most times I've visited, there has been at least one fish dead in the buckets. They also have a small tank full of Axolotls with legs missing or chucks bitten out of them, which is a shame, as the rest of the wildlife stocked are amazing. Upstairs there is everything you need for fishkeeping as well as a great selection of reptiles. Lots of different food and treatment choices which is always a bonus. Would be great if you could see the fish in stock on their website as like most, I'm always on the lookout for new oddballs to add to my collection. However, I am aware of the logistics required to do so.

First time in the shop today, loved it ! really great service, all sorts of reptiles and fish, I asked loads of questions and purchased several marine fish and crabs. Will was brilliant , he was really helpful and his knowledge was good. He answered all my questions and didn’t just sell me fish, he advised me on what fish would get on together and what fish to keep apart. All the fish and corals look in really good health. Visited for the first time for a few years with my wife. Absolutely brilliant one of the best Aquatic shops we have visited in a while. An Alladins cave of Reptiles, fish, spiders etc & the best specialist equipment for their care.The fish section is beautiful an absolute must some amazing varieties displayed in beautiful aquariums. The staff are so helpful & very knowledgeable. Loved it will definitely visit again. Highly recommended👍

We had a power cut today and our Indian star tortoise was without heat. We were told we were was to be without electricity for 12 hours. We rang Urmston Aquatics who said to bring him in and they would look after him for as long as we needed them to. They were so helpful and accommodating, we can't thank them enough. Fantastic service as always.
