We
all
know
that
Manchester
United
are
part
of
football
history,
I
had
been
there
many
years
ago
when
Wembley
was
being
rebuilt
but
this
was
my
first
time
as
an
away
supporter.
There's
numerous
places
to
park
around
Old
Trafford
and
I
chose
media
city
as
its
a
little
further
out
but
not
too
far.
From
the
outside
Old
Trafford
looks
impressive
but
I
have
to
say
I
was
underwhelmed
with
the
facilities
inside
for
away
fans...
We
were
in
one
of
the
safe
standing
areas,
it
was
a
smaller
block
but
as
we
climbed
the
stairs
we
found
ourselves
in
this
ridiculously
small
food
and
drink
area.
On
offer
was
the
choice
of
one
lager
(
Carling,
really
)
and
one
cider.
I
naively
thought
there
must
be
more
up
the
next
set
of
stairs,
but
no....
So
we
had
a
swift
drink
before
the
game
but
decided
against
going
down
at
half
time
because
it
was
going
to
be
far
too
busy.
Theres
a
good
reason
its
safe
standing
because
when
we
sat
down
at
half
time
we
had
to
shoe
horn
ourselves
in,
even
my
son
who
is
a
little
over
five
foot
was
uncomfortable.
As
for
the
atmosphere
itself,
well
they
don't
call
them
the
tourist
club
for
no
reason,
all
the
"fans"
with
their
mega
store
bags
full
of
tat.
All
you
could
hear
was
the
away
fans
for
the
most
part
of
the
game...
what
a
soulless
place
it
is.
You
could
tell
some
of
the
Stretford
End
were
singing
something,
but
in
the
vast
vacuum
that
is
Old
Trafford
it
got
lost,
the
only
time
the
place
came
to
life
was
when
they
scored
and
the
inevitable
whistles
near
the
end
of
the
game
as
Man
U
clung
on
to
win.
Should
Luton
manage
to
stay
up
this
season
I
won't
be
trying
to
get
an
away
ticket
again,
someone
else
can
put
up
with
their
bang
average
away
supporter
experience
next
year.
