My husband and I only stayed one night but we loved our room and it was actually $100 less than the hotel right next to us. We stayed in the suite by the smaller pool, which we liked because it was quieter. It was very spacious inside the room with a kitchenette. You can't beat the location and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

We had high hopes for this place.. when we arrived into our hotel we noticed it was warm inside the suite. The bathroom has rust and dust on the shower certain and door. The shower seem to get clogged ever time we used it. I think the worst part about our suite is it was right next to a dumpster.. what a great stay to be woken up at 6am ever morning to a dumpster truck but it gets better.. the walls are so thin you can hear EVERYTHING!! We also found trash under our sink durning our first time arriving. I wouldn’t call this a resort at all. I’ve stead at better motels than this place. The ONLY good thing about this hotel was the big warm pool with live music. Next time if I want to stay for vacation, we could just sleep next to a trash can because that’s what it felt like. Overall great location but just a extremely made RESORT.. if that what you want to honestly call it!

The room and location are awesome. Never had a need for Service so can't say either way. Spacious room, nice little vacation kitchen, close to all kinds off things to do. Great place. Only complaint, as a "Resort", maybe put in the curved shower curtain. The bathroom was like a spare rooms bathroom with a small shower and straight bar. Was very tight. Fat people go on vacation too! It's an older place, but very clean, AC worked great, and the doors going out to the beach were amazingly soundproof. For the price, it was a definite value.

So I want to really complement and thank the manager on duty, Donna, who made our trip wonderful. Without getting into details, the errors of the third-party agencies were fully rectified by her and that is nothing short of amazing. We used to stay at a very nearby hotel, and this is the first year at Thunderbird for us. with this level of service we are going to be, without a doubt, recurrent gusts. again thank you Donna !

The Thunderbird Beach Resort is amazing!! Very nice, spacious, and clean rooms! I have never seen a separate room with a mini bar, kitchen, and sink. It was very cool and updated as well! The employees are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is truly unbelievable. You walk out of your door and you’re on the beach. The bar and music is great! It’s an amazing vacation vibe and lifts up your spirits! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone and I would 100% come back if I’m ever in Treasure Island again!

The first night was good, no one came in to clean our room the next day but that’s not an issue. When we tried to extend our stay we had to pay another resort fee, never had to do that anywhere else. Then we ended up staying with boyfriends parents in a different room and they wouldn’t allow us to park in parking lot even though we paid another resort fee. Then the air conditioning stopped working on the hottest night also there was NO cold water, then 2 hours before our check out time, our cards were deactivated. The location is great, beach is a little far but clean. Rooms are very clean but somethings could be redone. My favorite part was that our room smelled like coconut.

Overall the place isn’t bad. However there are a few things they can improve on. 1st when you walk in there’s a mildew smell. 2- the pools need to be constantly cleaned. The smaller pool was just disgusting. And 3- the “Resort” fee of $33. I hate when places add fees for literally no reason- this is in no way a resort. At the most this is a three-star motel. It’s just greed. Just Raise your prices if you’re going to tack on an unnecessary fee. you get nothing for the fee 2 bottled waters.🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

A very sweet spot. Our daughter booked two rooms for a birthday celebration. One had a kitchenette which was helpful. I am a light sleeper so air-conditioning is usually a problem, but the rooms have incredibly quiet ones. The tiki bar with music is great. The service throughout the place was terrific. I can highly recommend this place, and we will be back too!

We haven't even gotten through the first night and I want to ask for refund. Paper thin walls, live music eight hours a day with no quiet. Hotel room run down and not like the photos. Quiet hours don't start until 11pm so there's nothing we can do about the teenage kids with no adults next to us raising hell and we just want some quiet. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU ARE A DRUNK.

Took a quick 4 day vacation from Jersey. The only disappointment was the weather (50-60). The staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel and rooms were clean with updated furniture. It was conveniently located. I was able to walk everywhere (St Johns Pass, grocery, restaurants, bars). People were also hanging out at the hotel. There were 2 heated pools, a jacuzzi, a tiki bar, live music, and beach games set up. I was rolling out of bed onto the beach, taking long walks or searching for shells. Can't forget the perfect sunsets! Well worth the trip!

This place is amazing!!! The bartender’s Kelley and cupcake are phenomenal and don’t even get me started on Patti! Pattie got us checked into our room and she was literally like home (the Midwest) sweet and accommodating. This establishment is lucky to have their staff! The rooms are beautiful, reasonably priced, extremely clean! Stay here you won’t regret it!

Stayed in the older part of the hotel and it was ok. The rooms were clean and the service was great, but heard some other guests didn't have a great experience. The pool broke after our first night so we went to the other pool that was much smaller. We were right on yhe beach, which was the saving grace for this hotel. It was nice to have live music playing throughout the day and evening. The tiki bar was nice, but the drinks were really weak.

This place has it all. The location is great. There is a nice walking path all along the beach . The entertainment was amazing. Live entertainment by the pool everyday from noon to 8 pm. Nice tiki bar with great service. Lots of chairs and tables . We never had a problem getting a chair or table. Publix and liquor store in walking distance . Lots of restaurants in walking distance. No need for a car! The staff was very friendly . They had coffee water and fesh fruit in the lobby everyday. They also had refrigerator and coffee pot in the room. Would definitely go back!

We loved everything. Had a poolside room 3 nights and had so much fun that we canceled the other 3 nights at the other hotel and booked here for another three nights. Had to pay the $100 cancelation fee at the other hotel since it was last minute, but it was worth it! We liked our room in the courtyard by the pool/hot tub/ bar area a little better (had to move to a suite the other three nights). And we only liked the courtyard area better because it was closer to the hot tub/bar. The suite feels a little too homey, like I was in my own home, lol! But that's ok because it was very quiet over there.. The rooms, both, are very cute and comfortable. Love the upgrades. Definitely coming back. Might have to rebook my May trip and stay here instead of down the road!!! Thanks for a great time!

This was such a nice place! No restaurant on the property- but maybe that’s being renovated. We looked over the courtyard and could see the beach. There are 2 pools- the better side for views is the side with the bar. The bed was pretty high- I’d recommend to the hotel to offer footstools. I did end up putting a chair by the bed. I’m 5’2. A lot of very walkable places nearby Publix: restaurants: etc. They had an alarm clock that had charge ports- so that was nice.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Thunderbird Beach Resort for a five night stay. We enjoyed our stay. The Thunderbird is a gem. The hotel does show it age in certain places of the hotel. But that is one thing that makes it a special place. It is quite obvious they have updated and continue to update the location. Our room was a double queen facing the gulf. Perfection! Updated room, and very clean upon our arrival. The cleaning staff is a gem for the hotel. They all speak Spanish, but with my Spanglish and google translate they went above and beyond for any request we had! The music, pool, hot tub and Tiki Bar are fantastic! We loved the vibe of just hanging outside getting some sun listening to the music! When we go back to Treasure Island we will definitely being staying at the Thunderbird!

The staff was friendly. The rooms were nice. They were beautiful and clean. The beds and pillows were a little wore out. The walls were a little thin, but during the night, it was very quiet, so it worked out. The location was phenomenal. We were right on the beach. Everything was within walking distance. The atmosphere was awesome. It was relaxing. It was very family friendly. We loved it. We will definitely return.

Like most reviews, the location can’t be beat.. you’re on the beach within a minute’s walk. That being said, this hotel is old. I’m glad it’s still going strong. It’s iconic! Issues: the split level in our room stopped cooling, shut itself off and made a huge puddle that I stepped in in the middle of the night. It’s hard sleeping in a warm room. Yes, you can hear everything- and that’s super annoying unless you’re passed out. Tiki drinks were expensive, music was fine. It all shuts down by 9:30. The staff was friendly and the room was kind of clean.. they didn’t wipe down tables or nightstands. They should provide a sweeper for sand on the floors. A fun staycation for us though.. all of that being said. 🌴

I live locally and have been staying at Thunderbird for 15 years. This year, my husband and I had an excellent time during our stay for the 4th of July but have been disappointed with the lack of response over items left in the room after we checked out. I called in the evening after check out when I realized I had left drawers of undergarments and clothing in the room. I was informed that the room had not be re-rented out but that my belongings were not recovered. The Manager told me they would call me back but it has been days with no response. I would expect after all the years of staying there, Management would take the situation more seriously and at least update me.

Niche piece of Beach Americana. Older style but with modernized rooms. Good deep pool, bar and outdoor seating. Located right on a 1.2 mile walking/running path and on a wide part of the Beach. Staff was friendly and helpful but a bit pricey for the amenities.

This is a nice beachside hotel. The rooms in the main building are a little old in the bathroom and kitchen area, there is a newer building that is somewhat more modern, but for the price and the location, no complaints. The beach is fantastic, the views at sunset are amazing, and the area is very nice with good food and treats nearby. Will definitely be back in the future.

I booked a night to stay on July 22. My girlfriend unfortunately got sick the morning of, so she couldn’t go. I tried to call and cancel, but they have a 48 hour no refund cancellation policy. Zero empathy or understanding for my situation. I paid $500 for a one night stay so I figured I might as well go by myself. The suite was tiny, there were barely any amenities available, and the hot tub they advertised smelled like a sewer. Definitely not worth it.

Amazing resort has the best front service desk. The lady named Kay was a excellent at being patient with our crazy family.. I'd give her ten stars. 🤩🤩 Only down fall no restaurant so we had to get Uber eats 😂 wouldn't be the same as a stack of pancakes looking at the ocean. But over all even the house keepers were very pleasant. Will be coming back. Thank you

Nice place with friendly staff. Bring things with you to the beach like food, its a long walk and no immediate options available for eats. Rooms were cleaned every day. A nice stay for several days. Beach is good quality. Bring plenty of change and cash for umbrellas/chairs, its not cheap. Nice pool and nice hot tub. Bar is pretty good too. Strong alcoholic beverages.
