City of Trenton has done an excellent job fixing up the park. New benches and new playground. People do need to clean up after themselves though and throw away their trash.

One of two Historic City Owned Parks in Trenton designed by the "Father of Landscape Architecture" Frederick Law Olmsted. Needs some maintenance, under utilized. Gathering space for recreation. Excellent place for a walk, picnic or relaxing. Basketball courts, regionally recognized tennis courts/programs, softball/baseball fields, walking trails. Museum with a permanent colletion of historic artifacts, art gallery and shop, bathrooms and meeting space. Host location for various events from Spring to Fall.

This park is a hidden gem! Beautiful grounds and the mansion is a museum which is wonderful and the park is so nice and in the middle of Trenton! There is multiable BBQ grill stations and a newly redone play ground, the security is very good and very helpful, I met on security man and he told me about how it was back in the day and that he has been going there since 1965 and now he works at the park, he was very helpful. I would definitely go, bring some BBQ and grill up a snack under a tree! Show up early as it gets busy during the afternoon, what a hidden gem and there is reminents of the old zoo there as well!

Nice park to enjoy the outdoors. Beautiful landscaping, new benches and BBQs just bring your own charcoal. Lots of wildlife and since it's right next to canal some fishing opportunities. There is also a really nice playground area for the kids with many different age appropriate options.

Despite being a little apprehensive about this park due to the bad surrounding neighborhood, the park itself is lovely. They just built and opened a beautiful new playground. I am sad that I feel paranoid whenever I go into the park. To help this, I bring absolutely no valuables but my phone and leave long before sunset. Taking a walk in this park is great.

Great place as I grew up here, hit a home run on the baseball field or play ball at the courts, and even play tennis.

Big, beautiful park. Multi-tennis courts are available. T-ball area is included. Park is near the highway. Great place to run, do yoga or simple walk.

The playground is huge and has lots of different things for kids to do! They also have roller skating in the pavilion near the playground around 5-6 pm.

After moving to Hiltonia in West Trenton I found the park walking my dog twice a day, it's a very nice place for just about anything you want to do outdoors, I recommend it to anyone visiting Trenton as it is a part of the history of the city and the man who designed it.

Beautiful playground, unique equipment for all ages. Would get 4 stars if not for lack of accessibility (parking lot a walk from playground; only one accessible swing; no ramps on equipment--most equipment requires mobility; wood chips instead of accessibility surface). Not the best swing equipment -- deep ruts, as happens with wood chips, and swings very high off ground. Not sure about bathrooms. Excellent for climbing.

Playground is nice but you can't park close to park you have to walk a ways to yhe park. No restrooms for kids to go to bathroom. They do have picnic areas where you can sit down.

Looks the best I've seen in years. The grass was cut and it looked like a park not an empty lot.

  • 1/5 Fred H. 3 years ago on Google
Very run down overgrown and neglected. So sad that this was designed by the same man who did central park in NYC

  • 4/5 seven b. 5 years ago on Google
Frederick Law Olmsted designed park famous for it's beautiful walks, gardens and bocce courts fallen into disrepair by inept City of Trenton government. However, Ellarslie, the city museum is beautiful with it's excellent collections of Trenton pottery from the past 120+ years when Trenton was pottery capital of the world.

  • 2/5 Joel W. 3 years ago on Google
Still needs a lot of attention, care and love to bring it back to the beautiful place it used to be 😊😊😊

  • 5/5 Andrew K. 4 years ago on Google
Amazing museum and performance venue. Situated in the middle of beautiful Cadwalader Park, the Trenton City Museum within Ellarslie Mansion is a must-see and must-go!

  • 3/5 Arrizón M. 4 years ago on Google
I went there for the first time and felt like a safe space. The grounds were well kept. This park was designed for family gatherings and joyous celebrations. I would recommend this park for meditation only if you have extreme focus- I'm talking Yoda, Master Splinter, Grand Lotus, etc. Otherwise, you need to go explore a quieter area of the park with less distractions. The reason I gave it three stars is because the roads need to be clearly marked for EXIT. There were motorists going top speed the opposite way down the one way streets.

It is scenic place when looking for a venue to entertain out of state grandchildren

  • 5/5 Tatiana D. 3 years ago on Google
The children's playground is fantastic. There is a variety of equipment and a soft surface to prevent scrapes from falls. My grandchildren love it!
