Such a great spot! I highly recommend stopping bye. If you need a nice gift, their shop has something for everyone. They also have a great collection of Trenton pottery. Also take a moment to walk around the park. If you want a good weekend trip, go-to artworks, the state museum, and here! Last I should also recommend coming here when ever the seasons change, the landscaping of this park it's amazing!

Attended an artisans holiday fair at this location and toured the museum. Very worthwhile! I learned much history surrounding Trenton and enjoyed the look back in time. I especially loved the window shades in the upstairs area that were duplicated photos reprinted from back in the day. I’ll post a photo below. Lastly, while entry today was free, they appreciate donations!

Very nice visit to Ellarslie today. Two artist friends had work on display so I went with friends to see their work. The museum is easily accessible through the park and the road was set up for easy parking. Staff/volunteer members were fun and informative. The display for the art exhibit comprised two floors. Most were framed work gathered nicely on the walls and a few stand alone sculptures. Some of the work was incredible. Also on view are many of the museums permanent collection. And of course a stop in the well stocked gift shop$$$. Everybody in my small group of three made purchases. Unfortunately, there was no A/C but the place was very well ventilated and although the sign on the door suggested masks, the staff went without such attire. After my glasses fogged up I removed mine as well. I only saw two other guests on this hot Friday afternoon.

In the heart of West Trenton region with beautiful views throughout the park sits Ellarslie museum. Trenton City Museum is more than just history. You will glorify the the education provided of Trenton and the Cadwalder park area. The events that are and will be held at Ellarslie tend to fit all ages.

My husband is an artist (acrylics) and partipates in the Juried Art shows that they have each year. Since he has been in the shows for the last 6 years, I have had the pleasure to accompany him to look at both the pieces in the show and their permanent collection. It has two stories and 5 rooms used for shows and three for their permanent collection. Their permanent collection contains mostly tile, pottery and other media that was created in Trenton during the heyday of manufacturing.

Solid representation of Trenton's industrial history. I learned quite a bit. Also had vibrant art displays in the first floor. Pay as you please.

I loved it! I went to an event hosted by an architectural firm celebrating 100years of their firm in the Trenton area. Not only did I see their historical contributions to design, we were encouraged to peruse the rest of the museum. Beautiful! Originally, the museum was a mansion.

We attended for an African Mask Making workshop. It was a fun event and staff/volunteers were extremely helpful with gluing and recommendations for structuring your art. You were able to touch other actual art mask with white gloves and there was an African mask history book being passed around. Everyone was extremely friendly and introducing themselves. There were a ton of materials, snacks and family friendly from age 2-adults/couples. We were not able to see the entire museum but the grounds looked beautiful. Parking was convenient, park security at all entrances as well. After we explored the beautiful architecture of homes in neighborhood across the street afterwards (Calwaldere Heights I believe) that reminded my of my previous neighborhood NY. I would definitely recommend for families.

What an incredible asset to the city of Trenton and visitors from all over! A wonderful escapade, impeccably curated exhibitions, in addition to their permanent installations on the second floor... I found this gem on a cold, wintry day. As soon as I entered, the sun pouring through the windows, the elegant mansion, the splendid live solo piano music and welcoming volunteers all made for an unforgettable experience. Carefully handpicked, one of a kind objects and books at the museum store make for exquisite gifts. Do not miss this one!

Always enjoy this museum. The quilt show I went to see blew me away (Go! even if you're not "into" quilts). I will probably go back to see them again. The shop also carries interesting and artsy items, as well as original local artwork.

A beautiful celebration and ode to Trenton local history. The hours are wonky, which means that I've now gone for two special events, but it is a delight to see the pride and rich history that the museum exemplifies. Great museum shop!
