All is fine, but the Heating in the bathroom we couldn't hire! But in all it was great.

Sadly, my experience was not a good one. I think this hotel is not a good value for your money. The hotel room was really small - too small for two people - each with 1 piece of luggage. It really was difficult to move around. We were put in what must be the worst room in the hotel - room 545 - which is on the same height and very near the vent of the nearby restaurant. We were thus unable to open the window - due to the smell and noise. There also is not any climate control available. Breakfast was ok, but I think it is really weird when staff starts taking food for themselves around 20 minutes before the end of the breakfast time. It really is very unprofessional. Also, around 30 minutes before the end of the breakfast they start slowly cleaning the buffet - so the offer is not complete anymore. Hotel does not any parking - not even a space where you could legally stay for a few minutes to unload your bags from the car ... There are other hotels in Tromso, which I believe are much better value for the money.

The front staff were lovely, friendly and helpful! We arrived several hours before check-in, and they still allowed us to get a room early, which was wonderful because we were very cold and tired. The breakfast buffet is delicious and has a great variety of foods! I have celiac disease, and they clearly labeled allergens on their foods, so I was able to see what was safe to eat, and I had a good amount of options. The location is very convenient. Sure, the rooms were on the smaller side, but it was no issue for my husband and I.

Thon Polar is in an excellent location. Very close to all the shops, restaurants, bus stops Ect.. The staff is very friendly and full of information and offered me the biggest room they could that did not change my booking. The shuffle board in the hotel lobby was a nice plus to our visit. The beds are extremely comfortable and the room was lager than I thought it would be. There were two pillars in the middle of our room, one next to the bed that made getting off the bed on that side a little difficult, but the comfort of the bed made up for it. The shower is very small but with a little ingenuity it gets bigger! Be carful with the turning off the electricity card on the wall as it turns off the fridge too. The breakfast is top notch! One of the best in town. Everything you could want is there plus some. I love the fresh baked breads.

Good food, but dirty room (also too hot)! Maintenance of the room is limited to changing the towels, doing the bed and taking out the trash, cleaning the floor doesn't seem to be a part of it, the dirt from your snow boots will accompany you during your whole stay. Thermostat in the room is weird, it is always too hot that you can't even sleep comfortably because you're too busy sweating. Breakfast is good and with plenty of variety, that's basically the only good thing about this hotel.

The staff in the hotel was really helpful. We arrived early in the morning (around 10a.m.) and we only wanted to leave our luggage there...but they already had our room ready for us. The room itself-nothing special, as per hotels but still ok. Just want to mention that the breakfast was amazing! I didn't expect anything special...but have to admit that was delicious! Moreover, for people with some allergies there was a variety to choose from (gluten free bread and cookies, soya drinks etc).

Stayed 2 nights in standard single. The room size decent but it gets hot even in cold weather. Didn’t see any AC. Soundproof windows. Bathroom decent minimal toiletries. Towels were thread bare. No housekeeping. What’s good? Breakfast, location and price. Front desk staff A +.

Nice Hotel in the Citycenter of Tromsø… where you are able to go to the best place by food. Nice room… but very small bed… excellent breakfast

I've loved my stay at Thon Hotel Polar! The staff is really helpful and friendly, the breakfast service is wonderful and it gives you a lovely start into each day, and the location is perfect :) moreover they have got a really well-equipped gym which offers all you need... I would definitely recommend the hotel!

This is the place to stay! We stayed in 2 hotels during our visit in tromso and this was our favorite. The breakfast is phenomenal! Lots of choices, bacon, eggs, omelets, breads, crepes, smoothies, yogurt, fruit... just great. Staff was friendly and helpful and left us a fruit tray for our honeymoon. Rooms are like the others we've seen here, smaller but enough room for us. Heated floors in the bathroom were nice. There's a fridge and everything is right there in town! Perfect location. They also have a restaurant connected that's convenient and good food.

Nice hotel, comfortable and clean. Excellent breakfast variety and quality. I would like to suggest more hook in the room to hang clothes.

We stayed here for a week whilst exploring the area and using Tromso as a base. We were happy with our choice. Thon Polar is centrally located within Tromso and we were able to get to everywhere we wanted to go. When we first arrived there was an issue with our room where the safe was not working, but this was sorted quickly and we were moved to another room. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. We liked the decor. Staff were helpful and friendly. We stayed with breakfast included and we thought it was good with a good selection of hot and cold food.

This hotel is very centrally located. It is a small room but I was a single traveler so it served my needs very well. I had the same issue as a few others if you have a room located in the side near the restaurant that the smells and noise are there most of the time and it is hard to open the windows for fresh air. The staff was friendly, I felt safe and would recommend this hotel.

A good quality, centrally located hotel. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable, clean and well maintained. Highly recommended. The breakfasts also offer a good range for all tastes. The only complaint was my non-existent view of an external fire escape. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Suggest requesting a view if that's important to you.

A good, cheap basic hotel in the centre of Tromsø.

Location is right downtown. The rooms unfortunately aren't as good as the pictures on the website. The Thon across the street was definitely more updated. Breakfast was also a little lacking compared to Thom across the street. Good value for what you pay.

Nice rooms, big enough for sleeping. A little noisy, because of the warm weather the window had to stay open. The seagulls are crazy on this time of the year... They party all night.. Service are great. Breakfast are very good. The staff are quick to clean tables and prepare them. Nice lounge at the reception area with shuffleboard and coffee machine. Overall Thon hotels usually have a little extra without the extra price 🙂

Great location and nice rooms. Good customer service in the reseption. A lot of street noise at night - overcooked bacon at breakfast .

Nice hotel, chromecast in every room so you can watch your own stuff, good wifi and many electrical outlets, modern bathroom. However not all rooms are really clean. Mine was fine but my friends room had hairs and multiple chewing gums laying around and a half empty water bottle in the mini bar. Also everything in the mini bar costs money (pretty expensive) although there is no price list in the room and nobody tells you about this this at check in.

This place is very nice for 3 stars the food is good the view is meh but the service makes it all good the beds are very nice

A centrally located hotel with overall nice location. Check in was easy, the staff were quick, helpful and nice. The standard room we got had enough space but it was not overly big. The view was of a wall so that was not good at all. The breakfast offering was overall good and fresh. The reception staff were attentive and were happy to pour out a cup or two of coffee for me, (as the machine is behind the desk). Had a short talk with the girl in the reception over coffee which was enjoyable. Pricing was pretty good at 930kr.

The desgin of the hotel building is not very user friendly, e.g. the hotel lift is at the emergency exit on 9th floor etc. The breakfast selection is good. However, the room is not cleaned on a daily basis. For a four-star hotel, it is not tolerated. Also the late night haunted experiences with strange sound from outside is scary. The hotel TV doesnt work properly with normal Norweigian programs. TV wireless connection with customers' own IT devices doesnt work properly. The common activity area on the ground floor frequently has unknown visitors - doesn't seem to be the hotel guests- which let me doubt the hotel security. Overall service is average.
