We’ve booked the same room type(double) and paid the same price, but got a triangle room which was completely different from what we saw in booking and other tourists. We could hardly even sit upright. Very disappointed. The worker said they were sorry but there was nothing they can do. Just thought I need to let others know how it really is. Would not recommend it.

I really love this hotel, there is common kitchen full equipped, warming living room with amazing view and there is a hot drink machine that you can use for free. The room was clean and very comfortable. The stuff very gentle and caring for my needs. I really recommend.

Absolutely fantastic place, used while motorbike travelling around Norway. Room was very clean and the communal areas were very well maintained. Inexpensive compared with the rest of Tromso.. And our bikes were safe in the carpark. I would definitely stay here again!!!

Nice hostel with an adorable keeper. You can book a room with a private bathroom. It's located on a hill 5 minutes away from the center of Tromsø. You can feel a kind of help spirit there as guests leave food for others in the kitchen

Amazing place to stay - only problem is the slippery stairs in winter when ice cover the road leading to the hotel. Witness couple of people falling including myself. Love the free flow of hot chocolate and latte. 4 washing machines and 1 dryer for you to use at any time.

As always a huge pleasure to be by you! Ami Hotel has this homie vibe, that brings you back. Rooms are clean and modest. Perfect balance, so you are not intimidated and yet want to keep things ordered and tidy. Service of the Ami Hotel is top notch! Always friendly and smiling people. Always keen to help, whatever need or issue you may have. We came 6h earlier than our check in, young lady seeing us waiting offered to prepare our room as a first one that day, so we could move in a bit earlier. In January we wanted to go to sauna in the city centre. As we had no towels, lady from the hotel offered us extra towels just for the sauna. And last but not least. As a coffee lover big thank you for a free coffee in the kitchen. And it’s not just a regular coffee: latte, cappuccino, macchiato etc - you name it :) That’s a cherry on the top by staying in Ami Hotel. PS it’s in the centre of the city. Everything is just few minutes walk away.

Overall clean rooms. Beds are smaller than usual. A double bed is make up of two smaller than single beds. Toilet extremely small, shower area is block by a shower curtain and whole area will be wet. Kitchen with full facilities for share use. Not advisable for elderly and guests with big luggage as no elevator. Stairs are narrow and steep. Would classify this as Guest house instead of hotel. For the price we paid would have chosen Comfort Hotel instead.

This is my first time staying in a hotel like this, so some features were a bit unusual for me, but I would definitely stay here again. Really the biggest draw back in the communal showers and toilets. To my knowledge there are only 2 each for the entire building, but if you're capable of handling this, it will be ok. Both bathrooms and toilets were very clean and well stocked. I booked my stay through AirBnB and my host was super responsive, helpful and kind. Answered all my questions quickly and made sure I got to my room. My room was also nice. Firstly, very clean. I felt very comfortable and could relax in my room. It came with a comfortable bed, fresh linens, towels, 3 chairs, and a sink with hand soap. It had a mounted television, which I did not turn out so I can't speak to its capabilities, but I'm confident the quality of everything else that it would also be useful. Parking can be a small challenge, but I figured it out. You can too. Lastly, they had a large kitchen area that looked very useful and clean. Again I did not cook in there but it had a large fridge and freeze with many areas to prep and cook. I enjoyed a free coffee in the morning before I departed. So again, definitely and comfortable and restful experience.

More than the hotel itself I would like to rate the northern lights chase trip we had with them. It was a small minibus tour. It was a bad weather day but they tried their best to drive us out as far as possible to get a good view of the northern lights. Later we had tomato soup, bread, chocolate cake and hot chocolate outside a cabin. Would have preferred if it was inside a cabin or tent but overall we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The team are nice kind people and they made sure we were comfortable throughout the trip.

Free coffe, tea. Near bus stop and cozy location. It's like snow skii park in front of hotel. Can join northern light tour from the hotel. But room is small and no elevator. My room is at 3rd floor and need to carry lugguages.

Stayed for nine nights and can highly recommend. Rooms are clean and staff are very friendly. The kitchen is really well equipped which is handy especially because while I was there lots of places were shut. Free tea/coffee/hot chocolate machine which is super handy when returning from cold late night N. light chases as well as a lounge area where you can chill/meet other travellers. Super convenient to the city centre (2-3 minutes walk) and good bus connections. If I am ever back in Tromsø, for sure will stay again :D.

Very nice for an affordable price; a hotel in an old house with lots of charm. I particularly liked the attic rooms, if you don’t mind carrying your luggage up four flights of steps of course. Mini fridges in rooms and a very well organised kitchen space. Clean and inexpensive. No receptionist so make sure you pay and receive a 4 digit PIN beforehand!

Very good value for money hotel. The rooms were very nicely decorated and the kitchen was well equipped. Staff were all very helpful and kind - always met by a smile! :)

Highly recommend! The rooms are clean and equipped to work remotely with a desk/chair, lounging chairs, and a coffee table. The staff was very welcoming and allowed us to store our luggage for a few hours after check-out. A cozy and friendly atmosphere.

It made a cozy, comfortable home for my entire stay in Tromso. Somewhere between hostel and hotel, the hotel provides a shared kitchen and dining space for the guests, which is a huge plus for those who want to eat your own meals/want to save money on dining. The kitchen is large and never felt crowded. I had cappuccino every morning and hot chocolate when I'm back from winter excursions from the free communal coffee machine. The hotel staffs are lovely and hard-working to keep the place clean and tidy. The single room I had may be small for some tourists, but it created a snuggly cozy space for me. Everything is within walking distance and/or easily accessible by bus. If I'm coming back to Tromso, I'd really love to stay at this hotel again.

Sweet hotel with very simple and clean rooms. You get automatically a code sent per email and/or text to enter the hotel and your room but a person at the reception would have been nice and more personal (I checked in at 4:30 pm)

A beautiful hotel for a very good price. Rooms are extremely clean, very comfortable, and have everything you need. Staff is excellent and communication is great. The common areas are well equipped and super clean. The kitchens are also fantastic and have everything you could need. Overall an excellent stay, I can not recommend enough.
