Tromso is really magical place to me. I really love this small and nice city. It is located north of Norway with nice site seen of see, jangle and polar light. This city has small air port and it tack 2 hours of Oslo to there by plan. There is a bus for transfer airport to city and back. The weather is nice and cold...

Loved this church - very unique in comparison to churches we're used to in England. It's modern inside with carpets but retains much character. Made some family history enquiries and the lady at the front was very helpful and friendly which was nice and welcoming.

Didn’t really go inside the church, just saw it while taking a walk. The most beautiful thing was that when gazing at the top of the church we saw really bright northern lights. Yes, you can also see them clearly from the city if they are strong enough.

I loved it. Tromsø Cathedral is a cathedral of the Church of Norway located in the city of Tromsø in Tromsø Municipality in Troms county, Norway. The cathedral is the church for the Tromsø Domkirkens parish and it is the headquarters for the Tromsø domprosti (arch-deanery) and the Diocese of Nord-Hålogaland. This cathedral is notable since it is the only Norwegian cathedral made of wood. The yellow, wooden cathedral was built in a long church format and in the Gothic Revival style in 1861 by the architect Christian Heinrich Grosch. The church tower and main entrance are on the west front. It is probably the northernmost Protestant cathedral in the world. With over 600 seats, it is one of Norway's biggest wooden churches. It originally held about 984 seats, but many benches and seats have been removed over the years to make room for tables in the back of the church. We really enjoyed spending some time at the cathedral, and to us it was quintessentially Norwegian and on par with several of the older churches we have been fortunate to visit in Norway. Well worth the visit and VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Lovely church, great energy. I like the relative simplicity of churches in Tromsø! And the artistic touches. I was so blessed to walk in when the original organ from 1863 was played. It was truly magnificent!!! A short video is attached. The amazing part is the new organ and old organ can be linked together! I can only imagine what harmonious fabulous sound will be cteated! Great information about the history of the organs and the Cathedral. Highly recommend sitting for a few minutes and enjoy the wonderful energy. Open Tuesday & Friday 12-16, Sunday 14-16. No entrance fee. Paid parking only in nearby parking lot.

Never believed myself that i went through that far up north to Tromsø, Norway during winter 2019. It's winter wonderland for me. I also got a chance to see this beautiful cathedral. I didn't get inside coz it's occupied for Misa and rehearsals. I will surely come back again in next time.

Lovely and bright. I visited on a Sunday when the organist and a flute player were sharing their music with us. Delightful.

Beautiful old style nordic church building. Right in the heart of Tromso it's easy to get to and makes for lovely photos at night when it's lit up by the surrounding lights.

Beautiful wooden Cathedral which stands at the heart of Tromso which has a great history A good reminder that in the busyness of the bustle of travel around Tromso that there is a place to sit and reflect. One drawback is that it's only open to the public Sunday afternoons.

We had a lovely holiday in tromsø during the Christmas time. Certainly we going to return to catch the aurora borealis.

A wonderful warm wooden building with a charming pastor and a very talented organist. In typical Lutheran style of simple but tasteful decoration.

Beautiful church in the middle of the city, you'll probably drive past it if you're in tromso, it's worth a look. The architecture is formidable, all made of wood with cream tones. I loved.

Looks very nice from the outside at night, but never get a chance to go in and see what it’s got inside. Quite tourist unfriendly as I walked past it several time and never saw its door opened during the day.

Perfectly designed. I am not usually fond of modern architecture but this cathedral is an exception. Warm and peaceful inside

The Tromso Cathedral was built in 1861 in the center of Tromso. This church is listed in wood and is a beautiful structure.
