rude waitress, as enclosed of booking confirm, I reserved 2 persons buffet and when i went there a waitress said could not be provided us since there’re 50 peoples already booked and the fish’s not enough, she asked us to order the a la carte or not, that’s why I asking the recommendations but she’s no service mind and do not respect to customer. I’d just want some reason to said to me that this is not a fast food just because of i’s asked her about the menu name that I didn’t know. Why’s Irene who is a waitress to serve me have to say like that? I just want to know the ingredients, or some picture of her mention but she said this is not a fast food. The waitress shows no thought of service at all. No services mind. Treat us as not a customer. We are foreign customers which inquired about the details of the food, what this waitress responded to was very rude. I don't understand what's wrong with her but it's make us not very impressive. And sincerely hope that the restaurant will have a warning to teach this waitress to be better manners than this. If the restaurant that gives good taste food but there is a waitress with bad etiquette , No one wants to come back and eat again for sure.

Maybe they changed chef, but food was reheated and not fresh. Whale steak was full of tendons, was hard to eat. Stockfish was chewy. I don't recommend eating there.

Worst customer experience of the holiday. Never again! The attitude of the personnel was unacceptable. While serving the last plate, the greek manager told us the kitchen was closing and no orders would have been accepted for desserts, note that other desserts were just coming out of the kitchen!! while asking why they hadn’t informed us before, they argued in a very arrogant way we were late in making the orders (not true, they are just slow in taking any order) and we were accused of being rude because we asked twice for the bread. The manager said she was happy to be rude to us and started to clean the entire restaurant before making us pay and leave. She also added ‘I’ve been F***G waiting for you taking the orders I need to go and celebrate Easter, I’m not going to keep the kitchen open for you!’ I come often to tromso, people are lovely, but here you really feel they don’t want you as a customer in this restaurant. Your reply just confirms your politeness. Customer feedback should never be treated as you do

Food is excellent, always. I love the dish pan fried stockfish. Always bring friends here if they want to try authentic local food. Their sample starter is a good option to try different specialties. However, last time we went there was a goodbye party for one of us, and I had 2 friends visiting from abroad, the 3 of us was on time and ordered some wine as we knew 2 in the party would be late (and informed the staff about). Our waiter was nice in the beginning but when the last 2 arrived 20 minutes later he put on a massive attitude. We were having a good time and he was making us feel bad for laughing & talking and catching up. We wanted to share 2 of the sample as a starter for 5 since we know the main courses are massive and it was mostly for our international friends to try anyway. He told us starters were usually ment for 1 person. As normal..but we want to share - what's the fuzz? He was chopping us up to get ready to order because the kitchen staff want to go home at one point. Might I remind you it says online that the restaurant is open until 11pm, about 9.15 we order our food. It seems like they rushed everything, and by the time we were done the whole restaurant was empty (I assume they rushed also the other tables to gtfo), there was nobody in the kitchen and no waitresses to thank us for our experience and wish us a lovely night.. soooo odd! we left at 10 pm more or less.. 1 hour before it was suppose to close.. the waiter should state from the begining if they are not doing regular hours and are closing 1 hour earlier, but we never heard anything about this. Very rude staff on shift that day. Such a shame our experience was terrible thanks to our horrible service. I'm definitely not bringing any friends here in the future. You lost a very loyal customer. Mediocre Food…Awful Service! Food is nothing special, there are many better places in Tromso, fish was chewy and overly salted and the sides are just dull and boring. While this place is certainly not the best in town in terms of food quality, they are undoubtedly the leaders in terms of rudeness of the staff and poor customer service. THE RUDENESS OF THE STAFF IS JUST APPALING and something I never experienced in any other place. Being treated poorly and with disrespect will be the leitmotif of your meal: they are rude from the moment you call to book to the moment you step out of the restaurant.

They probably deserve a 4, but they're kind-of expensive and I found my dish (salt cod) oddly flavorless. It's a pleasant venue, the staff was helpful, but it's kind-of pointed at people of limited mobility and unlimited budget. There are better options in town if you have the time, but they'll do if you're out front and want a decent meal.

Under suggestion of our hotel we went for dinner in Arctandria. It is a very good restaurant with amazing local food. The personnel is polite, helpful and nice. The menu is in norwegian but the waiters explain all the dishes and what they contains, you just need to ask. I would give 6 stars if it would be possible. Strongly recommended to whoever visit the city.

Not worth the money! - Food: the food looks very fancy, but the quantity is horrible, plates are stupidly small. - Service: the waitress was horrible. She was hovering us all the time while eating and when she brought the starter she explained what was on it by almost touching it with her finger (I believe she actually touched it, disgusting). - Atmosphere: tables and chairs were better in my school. We do not recommend this restaurant

Food was good but not very warm. Espresso was not great but OK. Dessert was interesting (first milk pudding). Service was quick but not overly welcoming or friendly. Too pricy for the overall package. Hint to other tourists: Please bring a credit card and don't pay cash. This is Norway.

If your a tourist you have to be thick skinned to come here 😆... right when you try to get a table the host will try to send you down stairs if they know your a tourist, deny because this is a must try. Reserve the table even if they tell you it's an hr wait(it wasn't). We ordered the whale steak and grilled cod fish it was amazing!!!! Multiple locals recommended this place, and it did not disappoint. It's on the second floor. Don't let the comments from the host affect your decision to eat there. The waiter was very friendly:)

Nice atmosphere, good food. We had Stockfish and mixed starter plate. Some starters were boring with not much taste. Main courses excellent though not world class. Fair prices for Norway. We would return

It is impossible to overstate how impressed I am with the food, the staff, the service. Our waitress Kari is a true master of her craft. No ask was too big or small, and she provided easily the best customer service I have ever had in a high end restaurant. The food was incredible, and a modern take on Norwegian classics The reindeer was so unbelievably soft

WORST WAITRESS EVER (kicked out) GO ANYWHERE ELSE I'm fuming. Showed up before 5, place was dead. Get a table group of 5 of us.. I ordered first. I wanted a 200KR appetizer, she followed up asking what meal I wanted and I said that I just wanted the app (it included cheese chips, reindeer meat and veggies-sounds like a solid meal right???). What followed was the MOST DISRESPECTFUL TREATMENT I have received in my entire life. Without hearing the rest of my friends orders she snaps at all of us and says "IF YOU WANT TO COME HERE AND STICK YOUR FINGERS IN FOOD AND TALK, YOU CAN GO DOWNSTAIRS" [mad I didn't want to buy a lot of food I guess] she carried on for another minute and I was dumbfounded. She said they were too busy for non serious customers. I worked in a restaurant(a pizza place, not a nice restaurant such as this) for 2 years, it doesn't matter the case, customers were never spoken to like that . I've been in Norway for 4 months, amazing experience and this was my last night, final dinner with my friends before going home, and wow what a SOUR TASTE TO LEAVE NORWAY WITH. Absolutely disgusted that you would treat customers this way. Again, it was early and there was only another table of 3. U turn away a table of 5 for instead of getting 1000kr of business. From a service, financial and tourism standpoint this is LUDACRIS. THANKS For ruining my last night here. Blessing in disguise as I wont have to set foot near this place again. Been to several other restaurants they all treat their customers with respect. GO ANYWHERE ELSE

The best cod ever! (Reindeer was great too, but I have little experience with that kind of food to compare :)) The service (despite some reviews) was good! We liked their jokes :) The restaurant is cosy, offering nice views over the harbour.

Never made it to the restaurant due to the poor attitude of the staff towards me via email. I originally planned to go for my partner’s birthday dinner and when I asked the restaurant if they can do something for his birthday such as cake with candle or writing of happy birthday (which I would pay for) the restaurant mocked me saying the waiters are not dancers or singers and will not do anything for a birthday celebration and can only recommend drinks. This has surprised me a lot as I didn’t believe I asked for much so I cancelled my reservation as this was not a place I wanted to spend the birthday in…

You need a reservation for this one. Excellent fish

We were lucky and able to get a table without a reservation…. But be forewarned, you should normally make a dinner reservation for this primarily seafood restaurant . Service was good and food outstanding. The reindeer fillet perfectly cooked. The cod was actually almost too much in quantity. The mushroom soup and reindeer tartare both excellent. A very nice meal and experience… with drink and desert about 1700 kroner.

The amount of food for 345NOK is too expensive. Almost no potatoes, had to ask for potatoes before and after serving. Fish was all right. Better value in Tromsø for sure.

When we walked in spontaneously and first asked a member if she had a table for us, we were told quite coldly that there was no space, although most tables were empty. We tried our luck again with the manager a few mins later, who was really nice, and gave us the opportunity for a "quick" 90 mins dinner, before the other guests, who made a reservation, would arrive. Big thanks to her. The whale steak was quite a unique culinary experience. Definitely worth a try! By the way, if you happen to read this review, could you tell us which whale type we actually enjoyed? Anyway, fellow restaurant explorers and travellers, don't miss out on this one, when in Tromso.

We had a really nice dining experience here. Can't share the few negative reviews on the service. The service we had was really good, very friendly. The food was excellent...reindeer is a must here! Was super soft and delicious sauce...and the pommes gratin yum! As dessert try the multeberry cake!

Visited on the evening of December 22, 2019, before I set out to chase northern lights. Had whale steak and it was so good!
