Beyond our expectations! We had a really nice day with almost 3 hours of dog sledding in the beautiful winter nature around Tromsø. There was enough time to meet and cuddle the dogs before and after the sledding, and ask questions. They communicated clear and friendly and provided us with really warm clothes. The owner and our guide is a true dog lover and takes good care of the dogs. Would highly recommend Active Tromsø!

It was such a special and amazing experience. We went to this place because of the 3 hours of dog sledding (which is a lot more compared to other companies) and we haven’t regret a second. It was so much fun! There was plenty of time to get used to the dogs, the sledding, the nature around you, it was just perfect. The people take very good care of you in terms of warm clothes and safety. The dogs are super enthusiastic, fit, but overall very very sweet and they are very happy to be cuddled. Also, the hot drinks around the fire (after the trip) is a peaceful moment where you can ask anything you want. Thanks a lot for this great experience, I would definitely recommend this place or go again when I visit Tromsø-area again!

The best place to go for dog sledding. Here you can try it yourself and get good instructions by friendly instructor. Afterwards there is plenty of time to say goodbye to the dogs and hear interesting stories about dog sledding life. You get warm clothes, however bring your own as well as it can get cold when you are sitting in the sled. Can really recommend this place for dog sledding in Tromsø.

Authentic experience by passionate people. Our tour felt very personal and relaxed. It was just us and one other couple, so we had a very intimate experience. We were greeted by Christine who immediately set the friendly vibe for the day. She was kind and upbeat. She drove us to the sledding area which took about five minutes. There we met Martin, who would lead the tour. He was very upbeat as well and came across as a competent guide. The tour was a lot of fun and some pretty hard work as well. The dogs are very powerful and really excited. After stopping for over a minute they are visibly anxious to get to pull the sled again. It was nice to see them so excited about it. Afterwards we got to help with managing the dogs and back at the camp we had a meet and greet with all the huskies at their kennel. They were very well trained and clearly accustomed to people. We ended up cuddling with most of them. Then we sat in a small hut by a fire and were served fresh coffee and tea. We brought our own lunch, as did the other couple. We chatted with Martin and Christine about the trip, the day and the kennel. It made for a very cozy and pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to be welcomed with open arms. They did not once show any signs of wanting us to leave and we ended up chatting for most of the afternoon. We had a great day and a wonderful experience, thanks Active Tromsø!

In general it was a good experience BUT some points needed to be mentioned: The customers safety MUST always be on the first place. The driver came to pick us up from the radisson blu hotel with a damaged car tire (he was aware of it). Half of the way to the camp we hear strange noises from the back side of the car. After a while of driving, the tire fully cracked and the driver did an emergency stop. We were LUCKY that we could stop without any accident. He had no equipment for changing a tire. This is just irresponsibility. If you are a company which offers an event for tourists, you have to be prepared for an emergency situation. After waiting 30-40 minutes, he called a friend which picked us up from the place where we did the stop. The sledding was an incredible experience, but I would recommend to send min. 2 guides to the the sledding, because one is definitely unsufficient for a large group.

We had a phenomenal experience dog sledding with Active Tromsø. While this trip is best for people who are fit, I got in touch to see if was possible to dog sled with my 80 year old mother. Tore and his team were extremely accommodating, and my 12 year old son, 80 year old mother (who isn' t the most mobile), and I were all able to enjoy an amazing day dogsledding. My mom stayed in the sled for the entire trip. The dogs were well cared for and a joy to be with, the scenery was great. We had a perfect day. Thanks so much!

We have had an amazing dog sledding experience with Active Tromso! We really enjoyed the day handling our dogs team. Small group, fantastic guide, beautiful scenery and, most importantly, the stunning dogs 😍 very cute and friendly!

After Covid 19, I have been thinking how to break the ice ❄, guess how? Its Tromsø Activities with the dog 🐶 sliding over the snow 🌨 in the mid of the night 🌃 in the middle of nowhere till I ended up seeing the amazing northern lights!! It was such a fabulous adventure that I would definitely recommend that each and everyone of you should do it at least one in your lifetime! Everything was amazing, the cardio I have done in this adventure equal to 3 hours of anaerobic excersie 😂 I am from Iraq 🇮🇶, and I would definitely highly recommend it. Bear in mind, you should be in some how fit if you're planning to steer the sliding, otherwise you should get your partner to steer the slide while you're sitting in the carriage. Cheers, Ehab

Overall experience was very nice 10/10. Honestly, I did a lot research and found this is the best for husky sledding in Tromso. I love local company, every experience is unique and you can really enjoy it. The maximum people could join is around 14 which I think is the best. Some other large companies which provide more time slot but they use to take around 30-50 people every round with a coach it doesn’t sound good and like an industrial tour. If you choose Active Tromso be prepared to be “Active” and fit as they provide the longest route and most challenging one. It is not recommend for elderly, small kids, people which is not physically fit enough. The timing is good especially in Winter, price is very competitive with this level of experience. There will be a black minibus which have their name written on it waiting you outside the Radisson Blu Hotel and it is better to arrive earlier to spot out their car as there are many different companies and tourists waiting there. After the 40 minutes ride, we arrived the Husky farm. It was really amazing and exciting. The owner and the guides was really nice and cheerful. You will have time to get prepared. They will provide winter suits, boots and gloves which I recommend to use them as your clothes may end up with doggie smell if you use your own. After that, we will head down to the starting point. Our guide Leif provided us a brief introduction, full safety briefing and demonstrations. Then, it is time to go! During the trip, I was assigned just behind the guide and he was very professional, he really care about safety, sometimes stop and see if we were okay. The route is around 22km on that day and it takes nearly 3 hours. When you are sledding, don’t just drive but also have a look around the beautiful, gorgeous mountains and different scenario. You will go uphill, downhill, cross the bridge, cross the road. The dogs sometimes could not pull the slides uphill so that’s why you need to be physically fit to push for them. You will be very tired but you will enjoy the process. Keep in mind sometimes you need to use the break a lot as the dog are so powerful, they could run really fast. In between, the guide will take photos for you and you can switch the driver. After finishing the dog sledding you will have a lot of time to pet/hug/communicate with the dogs and take photos. The guide “B” also very nice and happy to answer all the questions. You will know more about the dogs and even their names. At last, they will provide some freshly brewed coffee and tea and some biscuits. We sit around the fire and they shared their story. After returning the winter suits and the sad moment comes...we have to leave. It was really memorable and exiting. I seldom write comments but I wish to introduce this dog sledding experience to more people and hope more people could experience this great moment. If I visit Tromso again, definitely I will join again. Visit Day: 19/12/2019

Dog sledding in groups of two people per sled (one driving, one as a passenger and you switch at your own pace). People are very nice, they treat the dogs very well and at the end they explain all about the dogs while around a fire. Totally recommendable

Highly recommended. Not often I give 5 stars to anything, but this trip was all that it promised to be, and more! Joe and Ophelia are terrific, passionate, guides, v knowledgeable and personable people. They truly love and respect their dogs! Quite lovely meeting them. And quite a team! Waterproof clothes and Arctic boots supplied, so we were totally looked after. The dogs awesome, so happy and well looked after and were full of energy and keen to get off! As the snow wasn’t thick enough for us to sledge, we did the adventure on wheels (we found the wheels took nothing away from the experience, so recommend you proceed if this happens - the experience is still amazing - and one can’t rely on nature)! If you’re looking for some real adventure and chance to lead your own team through some awesome country, this is it! No bells or whistles, just you, nature, your dogs, and the active Tromso guides! A terrific experience into the world of dog sledding. Sandra and booking team were a delight to deal with. Every aspect terrific from start to finish. Thank you Active Tromso. V glad to have come across you.

Incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone going to Tromso! Whether you're going alone or with your partner, family or friends, this experience is for you! I went with my partner but within my group there was also a family with young children, who the fantastic tour guides were able to accommodate for. The day was well organised and ran very smoothly, and they looked after you properly, giving you good quality equipment, clear instructions and a perfect cup of tea/coffee with biscuits by the fire after the sled - perfect! The dog sled itself was so much fun and showed us incredible views through the valleys! It was 3hrs long which is the longest in Tromso - amazing to have so much time with the dogs and as our tour went so smoothly, we actually reached the halfway point quickly and the tour guides were able to add in an extra loop! After the dog sled and warming up by the fire, we were free to say hello and take photos with all the dogs. They are so well behaved, so friendly and absolutely beautiful! A big thank you to our tour guides Joe and Lars for making this experience unforgettable! They always prioritised safety but were a laugh to be around and went above and beyond, recommending us restaurants and bars to visit in Tromso and things to do, as well as giving us a lift back to Tromso. I can't recommend this experience more, it was a blast and something I will never forget! Thank you all so much!

Terrific experience with the Active Tromso team for daytime Husky sledding. Emily and Lars were wonderful guides in particularly challenging conditions — we had about 2 feet of new snow the day before our excursion, meaning all the old trails were covered over and we had to start from scratch. When they say fitness is required, they aren’t kidding - anything uphill is like a stair master routine on steep setting surrounded by molasses. Even in these conditions, it was the experience of a lifetime. The dogs were great, super excited to do their job, and we had plenty of time after sledding to visit with all 100+ dogs before returning to Tromso. (Plenty of breaks during the run for photos too). The dogs appear to be in great condition and well taken care of. They are not pets but they are clearly loved. Would not hesitate to book again with this outfit.Thank you Tore and team!

Activetrommso offers a true arctic experience and adventure like no other their dogs are well trained and the guides are experienced. They help you and teach you even with no experience,it is truly an adventure. The camping trip was truly challenging and campers should be aware it is a rough experience. No warm tents or campfire cooking (the sleeping bag is warm, mind) but an arctic sleeping bag and an MRE style dinner. This is NOT a failing, but a consequence of the environment, and I can honestly say it was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had.
