An extraordinary tour filled with entertaining Sami folklore, a documentary about the history and science of the Northern Lights, refreshments and almost homemade desserts inside a perfectly located Lavvu, warm clothing and tripods offered for cameras, and a bunch of breathtaking photographs taken by a very enthusiastic and experienced guide (Knut). Even better, we were transported back to our accommodation in the end. Absolutely enjoyed it, strongly recommend.

We had an unforgettable tour with a very experienced and professional guide (Knut). We learned a lot about the history of the Northern Lights and during the snowstorm we sat around the campfire with warm drinks and ate marshmallows. The highlight was of course the northern lights. It was unforgettably beautiful and we can recommend the tour to everyone.

We did the Polar Lights Tour with Trina. Besides the incredible luck we had with the lights, it was a very great experience. Nice food, good atmosphere and the funniest and most lovely tour guide!

we were not sure to choose the minivan instead of the bus...well...we are SO HAPPY to our choice. Trina is a wonderful guide and host. she tell us lot of curiosities about Tromso and the northen lights making the trip so enjoyable and we arrived....WOW. we made a bonfire in a real sami tent drinking hot beverages, cakes and listening about Trina wonderful stories, talking with the other travellers, sharing experiences while waiting the lights or warming ourselves during the night . Then Trina guide us on a beach where the viewof the aurora was WONDERFUL. we were so lucky cause the lights was AMAZING and Trina took us wonderful pictures (tip: ask her to set your camera to spot the lights). 5 STAR AND THANKS TO TRINA!

My review is coming almost 3 years after been in this wonderful Country. Our experience with Tromsø Friluftsenter was pretty amazing. Arriving early afternoon in the Viking Hotel, the guys manage to contact Friluftsenter to booking 2 places to the same night. And, with no reservation: was a very, very cold night, even in the end October, but, for us, a Magic experience. Our guide, the driver - and the tips to get a perfect photo - were fantastic as well.

Wonderful company run by a local family. Our tour guide was professional, fun and very responsive to our million emails before we went. She told stories and kept us entertained while we waited for nature to behave. The pictures that she took despite the minimal northern light activity were professional grade and fun. Our children even loved it. Snacks and warmth were provided and cared for. At the end of the night she even dropped us off at the front door of our hotel. Could not think of choosing a better northern light tour.

We had the most wonderful time on our northern lights excursion with Friluftsenter. We have been on outings before where you stand outside for hours waiting for your feet to drop off with the cold. Not so on this tour. A lovely Lavvu with roaring fire, hot drinks and cake. Knut is a master of a host, charming stories and small talk, makes the waiting for the lights to show up truly enjoyable. If you are going to review a nature tour you must take into account the things your host can affect, and the things they cannot. the northern lights were not as strong as we could have hoped for this time but that is the nature of nature! we could not have asked for more from Knut or the team and recommend them very VERY much. Thank you.

Excellent northern lights chase experience! We could not have chosen a better tour. Knut, our guide was really full of amazing stories and made excellent pictures. Great time around the bonfire in the tent, with hot beverages and amazing "homemade" chocolat cake ;) Highly recommend !

Amazing trip - Knut was an amazing guide helped with my photography settings so I got really great photos. Very knowledgable and friendly. Amazing pictures included in the price. Hands down the best Northern Lights Trip Ever!!!

I do not often write reviews, however Knut was a step above your usual guides, I don't usually enjoy group excursions, however Knut got everyone that he could involved and you could tell he was truly passionate about the lights and sharing the experience of them with us. We had an awesome experience with Knut! We went in a minibus to two spots close to the finish border, where we could see the northern lights perfectly. He took the time to take pictures of everyone, lit a bonfire and brought cake. I can only recommend this tour ☺️

What a fabulous night - everything we could have wished for 😊 Trine was the perfect host and tour guide. We were very lucky and had a really good show of lights, but the whole experience was made so much more enjoyable with Trine’s wonderful energy, her stories and her local information. The hot chocolate and cake was very welcome in a lovely wooden hut with a stove as it was-19 degrees outside and trine took some cool photos of us with her high quality camera. If you are visiting Tromso to chase the lights, chase down this family run company first. Highly recommended!!!
