Liked the experience. You can feed the reindeers in the morning (when they are really hungry). Depending upon the season, you'll see antlers on top of either the males or the females. In winters only the females have the antlers. Also, you interact with Sami people, who are indigenous people staying in the Northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. More than 50% of all Sami live in Norway. They are the only people who are allowed to do reindeer herding in the entire European Union. In the tents, you'll be served with food, mostly Reindeer soup (Vegetarian options also available), coffee, hot chocolate etc. The people are hospitable and polite here :).

We were there on 13th of December and we had a dinner and sledding. The animals are gorgeous and we learnt a lot about the Sami culture. Very friendly host and fun experience to enjoy in winter night!

Absolutely fantastic experience! Feeding the reindeer in the open field and interacting with them is priceless. They were all so sweet and adorable. We even got to see little baby reindeer! You can tell they are well loved and still get to be semi-wild. The soup served was delicious and perfect for the chilly weather. The story time and learning about the Sámi culture and the reindeer was super interesting. The time flew by with that portion and it left me wanting more! The little shop with handmade items was awesome too, and I got probably too much stuff but it was all beautiful. As far as logistics, bathrooms were clean and warm. It's a short ride from Tromso so that was nice. Dress warmly and wear shoes you don't mind getting muddy (unless it is frozen over, it was rainy when we went). Absolutely worth it, go and have an amazing experience!

This was a really good experience. The storytelling and the song by Elizabeth was very nice. There were some beverages and cookies before having lunch. You'll get reindeer stew for non-vegetarian and vegetable soup for vegetarians. Feeding the reindeer is also a great experience.

First and the best northern lights experience so far in my life. Here you can meet hundreds of reindeer, doing the sledding, feeding. The day we visited this place it was heavily snowing, then in the middle of the activities we have a pretty much clear night and saw the beautiful northern lights here. They turn off all the lights on the farm, so you can purely enjoy the scene. People here are very friendly and very nice, strongly recommend the night event. You won’t regret it. It was my daughter’s 5 years old birthday, she saw these beautiful northern lights on her birthday, that means a lot in her life. Thanks a lot for holding such amazing events. Hope many more people can visit this place.

Perfect day to visit in March. Gentle ride in a sleigh, fed the reindeers and then a warm stew in a Sami hut followed by a Q&A from a Sami tribesperson. Enjoyable few hours.

Amazing experience. The staff made sure we don't miss anything. The reindeers were cute, but also the soup we got was amazing. Also we got much interesting knowledge about the Sami culture and reindeers. Totally worth the price!

A dream! -The Sami guides were very sweet and explained plenty of interesting things about their culture - We were with the reindeers plenty of time, feeding them, sledding and petting a them. - we had a three menu dinner. The quality was amazing, and you could repeat even if you wanted (I could not, we were full) We totally recommend this adventure. We tried plenty of activities and this one was the best by far. We describe more details about it in our YouTube channel “Nature4U”. Check it out :)

Let alone a highlight from my trip, it was a highlight of my life! This was such an incredible experience. Truly once in a lifetime. I learned so much, and all of the people involved were so very kind & genuine. It wasn’t a kitschy or strict place, you really got the freedom to explore & enjoy your time however you wanted to. Worth every dollar.

Such a fun experience which made half of our trip to Norway the other half being the northern lights of course. It was me, my husband and our 6- month old baby. Yes! We took our baby along, just make sure to bundle them up real good and they will be fine. Don’t be scared! I thought the winds were going to be too strong for my baby outside and we visited mid-January so peak winter season, but he was okay. He enjoyed looking at the reindeers and sleeping by the many fires around the camp. If you get too cold you can go inside the tent with fires and hot chocolate, cookies and tea/coffee to warm you up. It was truly fascinating learning about the Sami culture and it’s people. Lovely lady who guided us throughout and was super friendly and funny! We had the best time. Absolutely recommend!!

I can’t say enough about this excursion. I came for the aurora (which I saw) but this might have been my favorite thing during my trip to Tromsø. It is owned and operated by Sami reindeer herders and this supports preservation of their culture and maintenance of their herds. They know their animals and take care of them. Due to climate change, the very sensitive reindeer are less able to forage the specific winter diet of lichens and mushrooms in the wild. But we as tourists can actually help by not only helping the purchase of this very specific reindeer food with our dollars, but help feed the herd! Lots of pregnant and hungry females at the moment!) And we have a lovely experience ourselves! I really enjoyed the opportunity to see and hear about the traditional housing, clothes, lifestyle, culture of these lovely people. Thank you!

The reindeer are absolutely magical, and the talk with the Sami people around the fire is funny, educational and interesting. The reindeer stew is delicious and plenty of it. The location is around a 30 minute drive from Tromso on the bus. The sledding was not overly exciting - it’s a big train that moves at walking pace in one big circle around the reindeer enclosure. I probably wouldn’t do this bit if visiting again. Still, the people hosting and the reindeer themselves make this a wonderful morning out.

Fantastic experience, well worth the money. Started with feeding the reindeer, not rushed and plenty of feed and reindeer for everyone. Unlimited hot drinks and cookies available throughout the time. Fires lit in all huts if you get cold. Good hearty 3 course meal, we had smoked salmon salad/ green salad, reindeer stew/ tomato and veg stew, chocolate cake with blueberries. Definitely worth the money in our eyes, unforgettable experience finished off with some culture education and singing from the sami host.

The visit to the Reindeer site was an eye opening experience. Understanding Sami people culture, feeding the reindeers, learning the way of reindeers and how they go to the mountains during summer and come back to the site by instincts during the winter is something very informational. Would recommend this tour to visit the reindeer haven. They are very cute and friendly and will flock to you if you have food in your hands.

Well what can I say, a fantastic half day out. We were made to feel very welcome by the Sami people, they told us all about their culture and we then shared a traditional reindeer stew with them, which I must say was delicious. We feed the reindeer, who were very eager to have what was in your bucket. They were very friendly and very beautiful.

Had so much fun learning about the Sami culture and of course feeding the reindeer. They provide reindeer soup or veggie soup and cookies, hot chocolate, coffee and tea. The people are very nice and very helpful in getting you what you need, like another bucket to feed the reindeer. Definitely worth the visit!

Such an amazing experience! Irja is the most beautiful human inside and out. I hope she will now come to the Texas sauna! 😂 I loved learning about her culture and the reindeer! I definitely recommend this tour!

I loved my experience with Tromsø Arctic Reindeer from start to finish! They put a very special education focus on the Sami Culture with traditional food, songs, and stories. For this tour we booked the day and night reindeer sledding! If your time allows I recommend both tours! Why I Loved Tromsø Arctic Reindeer - The focus on the Sami Culture - you’ll meet real Sami’s who will share stories of what it’s like being raised in a Sami family. You’ll also practice signing traditional Sami songs they call “joiking”. - The time you get to interact and feed the reindeer! The Reindeer are so well cared for at Tromsø Arctic Reindeer. It’s so fun to feed them! I highly recommend adding on a sled ride. You won’t go near as fast as you would on a dog sledding, but it’s nice experience to really soak in the beauty - The reindeer stew you’re served is delicious! I highly recommend getting a second serving - or even thirds if you’re hungry enough! At Tromsø Arctic Reindeer you’ll see how much care and love goes into their reindeers. The Sami herders have a beautiful relationship with their reindeer. Both the day and night tours are great for children, but I recommend the day tour for younger children and the evening tour for couples. We were lucky and had the Northern Lights appear on our evening tour! Don’t miss stopping by their small souvenir store at the end. This is the best place to buy something special you won’t find anywhere else! I purchased cheese slicers with reindeer antlers and wooden Guksi cups. If you’re looking for a memorable experience in Tromsø don’t miss visiting Tromsø Arctic Reindeer!

The experience is so amazing. Getting to see the Aurora plus having the chance to feed and interact with the reindeer is unbelievable. The stories and history of the Sami people is very heart warming and I would go back everyday if I could.

Awesome experience with feeding and walking between the reindeer. Also very much liked the sami culture part and we got some lovely food. Overall a great time! Only thing i would recommend is to give a little more directing into the plan, I feel like it was quite easy to miss the storytelling or the food. Still 5 star worthy to me.

Absolutely brilliant place to visit, the Sami people are very friendly & passionate about their history. We loved going on the Reindeer sledge ride and then feeding them afterwards, they get up really close.
