We
booked
our
stay
at
Enter
City
Hotel
based
on
decent
reviews
here.
What
a
terrible
mistake.
I
hope
our
experience
will
help
others
to
avoid
being
robbed
by
Enter
City
Hotel
(under
the
leadership
of
CEO
Idar
Gabrielsen
aka
"the
big
boss"
as
this
is
how
all
employees
refer
to
him).
We
arrived
at
the
hotel
whereby
we
were
given
a
room.
We’d
booked
a
double
room
that
sleeps
two
people
but
the
room
given
to
us
could
only
safely
sleep
one
person
as
there
was
a
sturdy
light
fixture
with
sharp
edges
directly
above
the
second
person’s
head,
located
inside
the
bed
and
at
the
eye/pillow
level.
We've
never
seen
a
fixture
like
this
in
any
hotel
where
a
guest's
personal
safety
is
deliberately
ignored.
It
was
obvious
to
us
that
the
staff
has
knowingly
crammed
a
double
mattress
in
a
space
originally
designed
for
a
single
mattress
to
fit
and
misled
customers
to
purchase
the
room
structurally
very
different
from
what
was
advertised
on
Booking(dot)com.
We
decided
not
to
take
that
room
and
immediately
informed
the
front
desk
about
the
issue
to
request
a
room
change
from
the
front
desk.
The
staff
manning
reception
(Sigbjørn)
tried
to
find
us
a
new
room
but
was
unable
to
as
the
hotel
was
fully
booked.
Sigbjørn
also
mentioned
that
the
issue
with
this
room
and
the
lamp
fixed
inside
the
bed
was
an
ongoing
issue
that
he,
quote
“trying
to
fix
for
some
time
with
no
success”.
While
he
acknowledged
the
issue,
the
only
solution
he
offered
was
to
either
move
the
bed
ourselves
or
to
check-out
from
the
hotel
in
which
case
he
stated:
“the
worst
case
scenario
would
be
a
48hr
charge
or
most
likely,
no
charge
at
all
once
the
case
is
raised
to
the
higher-ups".
We
called
the
hotel
(they
had
not
bothered
to
contact
us
at
all)
a
few
days
later
to
follow
up
on
the
refund
status
and
the
only
answers
we
got
from
multiple
hotel
staff
was
"I
agree
with
you
but
I'm
powerless
to
do
anything
we
have
to
ask
the
big
boss"
and
then
there
was
silence
for
days.
Every
time
we
contacted
them,
the
same
story
was
repeated.
It
seems
that
all
people
working
in
this
hotel
have
no
power
to
decide
or
do
anything,
there
is
no
proper
managing
structure,
everything
needs
to
be
decided
by
a
single
man
-
"the
big
boss",
who
apparently
does
not
bother
to
resolve
matters
or
allow
his
employees
to
take
a
decision.
Because
the
hotel
staff
failed
to
provide
us
with
any
useful
information
for
days,
we
raised
a
dispute
with
Booking
providing
the
photo
evidence
of
room
being
delivered
to
us.
Booking
acknowledged
the
issue
and
requested
Enter
City
Hotel
to
issue
us
a
full
refund.
The
Booking
customer
support
was
very
persistent
to
help
us
and
they
were
calling
the
hotel
for
days
requesting
them
to
issue
as
a
refund.
In
the
end,
this
is
the
answer
we
got
from
Booking:
"Resolving
complaints
after
check-out
is
challenging
and
less
likely
to
result
in
compensation.
Please
be
sure
to
leave
the
property
a
review."
Also,
Booking
were
nice
enough
to
pay
us
a
small
difference
because
we
had
to
book
a
more
expensive
hotel
that
night:
"We
have
discussed
with
our
Senior
team
and
they
have
agreed
to
reimburse
you
the
rate
difference
you
had
to
pay
when
you
booked
your
new
reservation
at
Radisson
Blu
Hotel
Tromsø."
We
have
never
had
an
experience
like
this
after
booking
hundreds
of
hotel
and
Airbnb
reservations
all
around
the
world.
We
do
expect
that
not
everything
works
smoothly
but
that
it
can
be
fairly
resolved
or
to
find
some
compromise.
However,
this
is
highway
robbery
and
it's
even
more
surprising
that
this
has
happened
in
a
super-regulated
country
such
as
Norway.
If
this
happens
to
you
please
know
that
you
can
attempt
to
get
your
money
back
by
disputing
the
charge
on
your
credit
card.
It
will
be
a
very
long
process
but
at
least
you
may
stand
a
better
chance
to
get
your
money
back
eventually.
