It is definitely a must when you're visiting Trondheim! Short boat ride and nice view of the city. Once there, you can get a guided tour (very interesting, knowledgeable tour guide who actually wrote a manuscript about the place) in Norwegian and English. Has an awesome room for signers/musicians, shaped as a dome which allows the sound to travel and an echo that perfectly rounds the sound. We stayed for half an hour there just singing and producing sound for fun. You can also have a picnic or swim I'd the weather is nice, and there is a restaurant with sweets and good local dishes as well. Be aware of the schedule of the boat not to miss the hourly boat ride back to Trondheim!

The island is a incredible beautiful and the history is great. There is a guided tour where you can see the inside of the building and here the stories. Bring cash, you can only pay for the tour by vipps or cash.

Munkholmen island is a culture heritage site located in the Trondheim Fjord right outside the city center. You get there by boat from Ravnkloa. The boat ride is about 15-20 minutes and the view from the island towards the city is breathtaking. Enjoy Munkholmen on a sunny day and take a bath at the shore there!

Small place which you will remember forever. Get inside the bunkers of Second World War and do not miss the guided tour to visit the ancient prison and gun power storage with magical acoustic effect

(Translated by Google) One of the few places in the world that still has a WWII German Flak bunker with a 105mm cannon under a steel dome. Unfortunately, no possibility is offered to also view bunker with directional device from the inside.

The island is very small so it's recommended to attend the guided your. Otherwise you can't enter inside and there nothing to do.

I managed to visit on a dry day despite the forecast of rain. It was cold but sunny. I paid to visit the island but chose not to have the guided tour. What I didn’t know was that you can't go into the main, round building if you've not bought a tour. So instead I sat in the sun on the sheltered side of the island and enjoyed the solitude, with the waves lapping at the shore and the sea bird squalking. Afterwards I went and had tea and cake in the cafe where it turns out you can buy a tour ticket (although it was too late for me). The island is small with a bathing beach and barbecue area. The ferry leaves Trondheim on the hour, returning at quarter past. Keep an eye out for the time of the last boat back or you'll be stranded there overnight!

Beautiful small island just outside Trondheim!! Recommend to do the visit to the old fortress. The guide was nice, same as all the people working there. If you have a sunny day, pack your swimsuit and enjoy the small beach!!!

Ingesting historical object. To enter the interior you must buy guided tour, but the tour is not well organized. The guide was stating facts instead of telling stories.

Make sure you do the inside portion of the tour! Soooo much history here. And check out the flag pole...that's where the last decapitation was.

Nice but nothing to do really if you are not planning to bathe.

Plan this when the weather is beautiful and you want to lunch or swim at the beach. The entire fort/monastery/prison can be seen in 20 minutes so you need something else to occupy your time. The advertised hourly boat was only working every other hour so the majority of folks waited over an hour just sitting on the stone wall or dock. Looked like a popular stop for Kayakers and those in small boats (from wooden row to single outboard fishing vessels). A small restaurant has a limited selection of food, pre wrapped ice cream, and coffee.

I'm fascinated by WWII history, so being able to climb on and walk around German anti-air and artillery will get me every time.

I bet this would be a better review and experience if the weather was more conducive to a picnic, as I imagine that's the ideal activity for a space such as this. On other notes, the guided tour is a good experience and the historical landmarks are worth seeing.

Fantastic trip. Catch the boat from the harbour and have a look around .The tour guide was very knowledgable and gave us free reign to look around. It was a corporate event so no idea what the food was like but we had a midnight BBQ that was very special.

Good service and food at the Cafe. Little information about the buildings outside of the guided tours.

(Translated by Google) It could have been an interesting place, but misses the info boards and some more activity. The children ran around, but were curious if there was any more history. We couldn't tell without info. We stopped by one day in the joint holiday. The shop was handicraft and art. The cafe of the simple tasteless type. Entering the main building cost as much as boat trip. Hope that Munkholmen can see more about Domkirkeodden, Hamar. Å gå inn i hovedbygget kostet like mye som båttur. Håper at Munkholmen kan se noe mer til Domkirkeodden, Hamar.
