Incredible views! It's not so easy to walk up to the viewing point but it's definitely worth it! On top of the hill is a nice area with benches to sit down and enjoy the view. Just pick up with you some sandwiches and enjoy a picnic on the top of the hill! Highly recommended πŸ’―

The perfect Windermere walk. Wheelchair accessible, around a 20 minuet stroll to the top and you can loop back around if you want to make it longer. Beautiful views from the top, I've attached a panorama that I took on a recent lunch break! When you get to the bottom of Orrest Head you can always call into our shop across the road to have a look at some bespoke, Lake District Designed furniture and have a coffee!

A set path all the way with some signs. A lovely walk up was a uphill but so worth it when you reach the top. The view was un beatable and it was a cloudy day I imagine even better on a clearer day. We walked with kids to so a family one.

Just above Windemere, and a nice hike to the top with the reward of stunning panoramic views over the lakes hills and fells. Take a picnic and and enjoy the sunset. You will not be disappointed

A fairly easy walk up from the edge of Windermere town to great views of the lake and surrounding area. The route is well sign posted, and there are benches along the route, mostly from marker 7 upwards. Advertised as wheelchair accessible and it is, but in an electric one. You would struggle in a manual chair (would not recommend if you are solo either).

Wonderful, stunning view both of the lake and the countryside. Perfect way to follow the sunset and have a nice, not very long walk

Wonderful walk. Gorgeous views at the summit and not too strenuous. There are benches to rest on the way up. It took us less than half an hour to reach the summit and the views out across the lake to the mountains were breath taking.

Great views at the top of Windermere. The summit is cleared of trees but the walk up is tree lined. Good mix of all ages at the top but may be a bit too far for those not used to a good hike up a smallish hill.

Beautiful place for a short trek. Amazing views. Short waterfalls and seating areas on each view points makes it more fun. No doubt that you will get great clicks. Keep in mind camping and night stays are not allowed on hill. Better to visit in day.

A lovely walk, a relatively easy way to find a great view of the span of Lake Windermere. Excellent coffee from a trailer half way up. Use the smoothed gravel path if you aren’t good with steps or if you have a buggy or wheelchair. Lots of benches on the way and at the summit. Once there, check out the intriguing compass rose art installation by Chris Brammall.

About a 40minute walk depending on the path you choose there's even one suitable for wheels (prams/mobility scooters) views from the top are stunning over lake Windermere and there's plenty of benches

Beautiful view from the top and free!! Different difficulty level routes. Great for a dog walk. Park in the town and walk up.

A lovely beautiful little trek , with clear signs and options for both easy climb and steep ones. It’s one of the few places where you can enjoy the journey and destination as well. There are beautiful grasslands with sheep merrily grazing away , with the sun slowly sinking behind the skies. Make sure to take some time and spend on the grasslands as you climb. The peak when you reach has a beautiful compass and a seat overlooking the Windermere , and that truly is a sight to behold!

This was a great walk with amazing views. There are two paths up one is steeper but with steps, the other is slightly longer but wheelchair accessible. This is still quite steep in places but give a nice relaxed route up to the top of the viewpoint. Once at the top there are amazing views of the whole of Lake Windermere. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a short walk with great views. Opportunity to see lots of wildlife when walking through the woodland.

Great place for a short (1 mile or so) some elevation but smooth path. Fabulous views for those who get to the top.

This place was an easy trek. It had a gorgeous view of the entire Windermere. The green meadows on the other side added to the experience.

Great place to visit. Fantastic views at the top. Keep an eye out for wildlife while walking the paths. Choice of 2 routes up and back down. Red route is the more challenging.

It's small hike to the top of hill. It is 5 mins walk from windermere station so can be the 1st point to travel in windermere. Lovely like with great view of the biggest lake in Lake district. You can see some pictures and video from my travel, it will help you decide. Definitely recommend it.

Beautiful viewpoint, right next to town centre. The good thing is that there are two multiple pathway. I really enjoyed those narrow, steep pathways.

Very pleasant path walk and stunning views of Windermere lake and surrounding area. Relatively an easy and comfortable walk on a sunny April day. If available pickup useful leaflet at start of path.

Must walk steep to the viewing point and it is worth to walk a mile to see the breathtaking view. The walk is not very easy but you will enjoy it thoroughly. You may find a friendly horse and a donkey near the highest point. There are two path to walk and also suitable for wheelchair and for all age groups. If you are in windermere and want to have a panoramic view of the windermere lake, it is a must visit.

Absolutely gorgeous walk to the top. Two options if you don't want anything too strenuous and it only takes about 30 minutes ! Would definitely recommend if you want a breath of fresh air without too much of a walk !
