If you're looking for delicious BBQ in the Capital Region, look no further than Dinosaur BBQ! The Mansion at Rebecca's Fountain recommends their catering services for events, or Guest staying at our rental. We are always blown away by the quality of the food. The pulled pork and brisket were tender and flavorful, and the sides were just as delicious. We highly recommend Dinosaur BBQ for any event, or just a casual dinner out with friends and family. The family meals are a great value with very large sides. Be sure to try the Peanut Butter pie!

What's not to love about dinosaur BBQ? For our first time going. It was great. Food was quick and delicious and we can't wait to go back weirdly enough. I didn't get a picture of the food but the outside was pretty lol

Love it. Everytime I'm upstate visiting I just have to go here to get some grub it's dam good bbq eats. They allow dine in again now but I usually never do cause I don't want ppl to see how I obliterate the food lmao

Nice BBQ Restaurant next to the Hudson River. Very good BBQ food with a good selection of different meat and sides. Good and reasonable prices. The nachos as a starter is a MUST. We will come again

So we went on a Tuesday it was very busy around dinner time over an hour away. The drinks were not carbonated the soft drinks. The staff was very busy but courteous. The food took time to come from the kitchen. It was worth the way it was hot, seasoned and flavorful, you would have to ask for condiments for plain burgers for children or fully cooked sandwiches for those who do like bleeding burgers will go again to see what other day of the week atmosphere is like

The entire dining experience was great. The host team was super friendly and welcoming. We were promptly seated next to the river and enjoyed the view of the Hudson and Island. As always the food was prompt and perfect. The tomatoes were perfect; crisp, hot, and delicious. We shared a BBQ Family meal with lots to bring home. Aly was a great server; knowledgeable, prompt with refills, always there when we needed something. Great job to the entire Dino team in Troy. Roar! (Or whatever a T Rex says!)

I have to walk in crutches and loved the fact that this restaurant is handicapped friendly with a very easy ramp to walk on, and the seating was easy to get into and walk out of. The staff were incredibly kind to find me a table even though I was a walk in, made me feel like a person. The food was fantastic, I ordered the chicken wings and ribs combo, and the Mac and cheese side was perfect. Next time I hope to bring my family and would recommend anyone check out this local favorite when in Troy, NY.

if you are showing someone troy for the first / only time or are a first time visitor, go here. good view and vibe on the river with excellent food. prices high but in line with current times. cubano was fantastic. indoor and outdoor seating; making a reservation not the worst idea. service slow and inattentive but there were a few large groups and only 3 servers. all in all a good experience and recommended.

If this is good barbecue in New York, then I feel bad for you all. I ordered a bbq brisket sandwich and a kid’s chicken strip meal (so I could try more sides). I get up to my hotel room and there is no bun for my sandwich and no BBQ sauce- I mean, what is barbecue without the sauce? Next, it looks like you have a lot of meat, but this is the fattiest brisket I’ve ever seen. Also, when I got to the bottom, there was like a white sauce on the meat. The mashed potatoes and macaroni were both very dry and the potato salad had no seasoning. The baked beans were good though. Don’t go here.

Ordered a well done burger 🍔 burger I was looking forward to my burger but once I cut into the burger it was rare by time the waiter came back to my table (restaurant was busy) everyone at my table had finished eating. The waiter was very nice I ended up ordering wings to-go instead and the waiter took everything of my bill which was pretty kind. This Dinosaur Bar-B-Que definitely tastes different than the one in syracuse the wings were sooo good and the cornbread was delicious. I can't wait to return to try the burger again 😊

Surprisingly good-Didn't expect that in Troy, NY! Had the ribs with sauce on the side. The are very good bare, which is how good bbq should be! Potato salad was tasty, Collard Greens were on the sweet side. Had the house sauce- unique, with a small amount of heat, & not too sweet. Try it!

Deviled eggs amazing, cucumber salad weird taste but still couldn't stop eating it. Not a fan of the Mac and cheese but hey might be delicious to others. Brisket was delicious asked for every thing on the side so I can taste the meat!! Would definitely return if I'm ever back in town!!

Although they said the wait would be 15-20 minutes, we were seated in 5. Our waitress, Krista, was very pleasant, knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. Our food came out quickly, generous portions, hot and very flavorful. We were pleasantly surprised with how absolutely delicious the food was. We were visiting from Atlanta, GA and can't wait to get back there. Please open a location in the metro Atlanta area. I know you will do well. Thank you!!

I’m not a BBQ connoisseur, but I’ve had my fair share on my travels around the country and Dinosaur has some really, really good BBQ. The ribs on our recent visit were particularly delicious, as was the pulled pork. Their sauces are awesome, and portions were generous. We were told it would be a 30-minute wait on a busy Sunday night, but we ended up being seated in about 10 minutes, and only waited another 10 for our food. Every time we pass through this area, we’ll be stopping for great food and a cool riverside location.

Dinosaur is one of the best BBQ spots out there with amazing food and service. The staff is super friendly and always fast. The pull pork is my favorite and it’s right in the water so great views too!

Best BBQ joint around! Fair prices, wonderful servers, fantastic food, and great atmosphere! You just can't beat it, the food is great and the location is perfect, with patio seating looking out over the Hudson River. The brisket and pulled pork are both phenomenal, their Mac and Cheese is delicious as well! Can't recommend it enough

I was amazed at how big the restaurant was. Unfortunately they seemed short staffed and waitresses had to run all around. Ours was still very attentive. I shared a sampler with friends and everything was very good but nothing stood out as amazing. I liked how they put their own spin on the Mac and cheese and cornbread; both were different from what I am used to. The main BBQ meats were average.

They make some darn good smoked BBQ and tasty sides at Dinosaur BBQ! Our first visit to Troy and we're glad we stopped into Dinosaur BBQ for lunch. They apparently do a great lunch business on the weekends as there was a 20-30 minute wait. We happily found seats at the far end of the bar for immediate seating. The bartender/server was extremely pleasant and helpful pointing us to some of her favorites and providing feedback from other customers. We opted for Prime Brisket sandwiches with Spicy Cucumber Salad and BBQ Fried Rice as our sides. I noticed many other customers were carrying out to-go boxes and I could see why when we got our food. Portions are large! The brisket is a great sandwich topped with pickled onions & Jalapeños, and the house sauce. The cucumber salad was delicious and had a tangy bite. The rice was good too but I'd probably try the mac and cheese. The folks next to us got the Creole Deviled Eggs. They seem pricey but they are loaded up and looked awesome. They seemed to enjoy them. Dinosaur has a creative menu and friendly staff which at the time (Jan 29) all wore masks. Located riverside, the restaurant has a great atmosphere and looks to have an awesome outdoor seating area when the weather permits.

Dining on the river, inside due to the rain. But the food was so good that it did not matter. Pulled pork, ribs, cornbread. Homemade coleslaw. Great draft beer, really good coffee.

Sitting on the bank of the Hudson River in Troy, this restaurant is a popular family place to eat delicious BBQ dishes! We enjoyed the BBQ pork Bowl with mashed sweet potatoes, collard greens, cornbread, and a tossed salad topped with a deviled egg! The dessert menu was concise but offered decadent choices! Peanut butter pie with chocolate cookie base and silky cheesecake with a caramel drizzle.....both out of this world! Enjoy!

Great large restaurant with nice bar and lots of TV's to watch the games. High tops and regular tables in a warm cozy inside. Great welcoming service from all the staff. The BBQ ribs and brisket were super flavorful. Good chili, wings, and poutine! Nice selection of brews and cocktails. Definitely a lot of choices for everyone, so a return trip is a must.

If you are looking for good food and drinks (diverse menu) around the capital region this is your place. We tried the spicy shrimp and Dino Putine for the appetizer and got the Combo meet as the main course. For drinks I had the tropical sunrise 🍹and I loved it. If you’d rather something stronger like my husband get Dino Margarita :)

Haven't been here in a few years because our last two experiences were nothing great. Well, same this time. Food was eh. Service was just ok. I had to motion her over for refill and to pay the bill. So we are done with Dinosaur BBQ. Years ago the menu was larger and the food amazing....so amazing we had them cater a wedding at Watkins Glen Raceway. So sad it went downhill after they sold it.

Nice table overlooking the river, our server was awesome and ahead of the game, never had an empty soft drink. She was knowledgeable on both drinks and food. Far above average. Try the Kentucky bourbon barrel beer. Very good and smooth. And as usual the food was good, very consistent from location to location (a good thing)

Stop by for lunch. I've been to the one in Manhattan a few times, thought i would check out this one in Troy, NY. This place is near the water, beautiful views, food was good, pork in almost everything, so for US non pork eaters. you have to ask questions and choose but the food was good and the service was excellent. Our waitress was wonderful. I will definitely be back.
