How this place gets good ratings is beyond me. The best thing about my dinner was the bread stick. Such mediocre food for a hefty price. Good service though. Very overpriced and don’t have a party over 8 like we did. They can’t split the bill. The only way they will is let’s say you give 5 credit cards, they’ll split it 5 ways even— or 3 cards they’ll split it 3 ways even.

Homemade Turkey dinner. Better than homemade cause of course there is no mess. Dessert was pumpkin pie so yummy. The staff was attentive and professional. A must stop if your hungry. 5 stars.

Please think twice before coming to this restaurant!!! My family and I attended this restaurant for our first time and had the worst experience. The waitress was very kind but the manager wasn’t. Not only did my family and I wait for an hour but as soon as the food came it was burnt and did not smell right. We complained to the manager that food was burnt and that it did not smell fresh but she still kept telling my family and i that the food was fresh when it clearly wasn’t. She had told my parents that she would take it off the bill but she didn’t. She charged us for something that we barley touched and didn’t want. I recommend to go to another Italian restaurant.

I was there with a large party of 12. Our server was amazing! She made sure that our orders were taken immediately after bringing us our drinks. While we were waiting for the first course to come out she brought us bread baskets with plates of oil and herbs. There was also bowls with fresh grid Parmesan cheese sit on the table. I ordered the chicken piccata, one of my favorite dishes. I ordered it with extra "picata sauce" and that is exactly what I got! I ordered a salad with the house ranch dressing, which is made in house. The dressing was amazing! Normally I get Italian dressing on my salad at an Italian restaurant but let me tell you this ranch was special! Next a small bowl of mostaccioli with meat sauce was brought out before the entree. Equally delicious! My chicken piccata entree was exactly what I was looking for. The chicken breasts were cooked through what still juicy meaning they were not overcooked! The sauce was plentiful and I even had enough to toss my side dish of steamed veggies in with the picata sauce. Given the fact that the restaurant was short-staffed, you would never know it because the service was working extra hard to make sure we had an excellent dining experience. Kudos to the kitchen because everything they served us was perfect.

I visited this restaurant for Father’s Day today it was the worst Father’s Day dinner Their food was so poor their calamari had a hair in it out of three orders that I ordered for the family one of the orders had a hair in it the pastas were OK but the shrimp was all grilled and burnt when I notified the manager she did not take the shrimp off my orders but she charged me for additional three orders instead of taking three orders off she added three orders to my bill of $8.25 I am not worried about the eight dollars or $30 that she overcharged me I feel bad for such a nice restaurant to be ran down to the ground like this I will never be going there again and by the way that was my first time going there. The waitress was very nice and polite but the manager was very bad and she should not even be managing a restaurant

I booked their backroom for my wedding reception and my experience was HORRIBLE. The food was cold, barely if any meat in the meat sauce, hardly any alfredo sauce on the pasta, the chicken was like chewing on a rubber band. My guests said the best thing they had was the salad, then I was charged a 30% gratuity. I tried on numerous occasions to contact the management to express my disappointment to no avail. I told them in a email how my experience was and was basically ignored. Save your money and your headaches and find someplace else where you might actually be treated with some kind of respect!!!!!!

Disappointing experience. Ordered Linguine Vongole with red sauce. They misunderstood thinking I ordered Linguine with red sauce. They took it back and returned it three minutes later. They obviously reheated it, added four baby clams and flooded it with way too much sauce to hide their cheap fix. In the past I’d fill up a bowl with clam shells. They also skimped on the linguine. Rather than do the right thing and start over with the order, they cheaped out and left a smudge on their reputation. Feeling ripped off.

Picano’s has quickly become my favorite restaurant in the city. Staff is incredible and hardworking, great drinks, fair prices, great specials, and the food is absolutely amazing. Not only that, but the place is absolutely spotless clean, including the bathrooms. Best Chicken Parmesan I’ve ever had. My only complaint is that I wish they were open on Mondays too because I could legitimately eat here 7 days a week I enjoy it so much haha. Anything less than a 5 star review take with a grain of salt because I am more picky than most and out of 5 stars I give Picano’s a 10!

My family had been to Picano's several years ago and remembered the experience to be very different than tonight. Tonight, we had 4:30 reservations and we were seated in a reasonable amount of time. It was 15 to 20 minutes before were even approached by a server. Our food did not arrive until almost 6:30, we did not leave the restaurant until after 7pm. To make matters worse, the prices are outrageous. $28 for Chicken Marsala? I can get same thing at a local restaurant for nearly half the price. The service was atrocious, maybe even absent, and it cannot be blamed on Mother's Day, they weren't that busy. It's just a case of a great restaurant that has lost its touch. Did I mention we were passed by what looked like a couple of managers and not one of them noticed we had been sitting there for nearly three hours. A table behind us cancelled their desert order just so they could leave. We will not return, there are far too many choices for better Italian food, and better prices.

Excellent experience. White tablecloth Italian. Old school. Very good food. Decor perfect for style of restaurant. Pasta was great. Appetizers were delicious ( fried artichoke hearts in a lemon and caper sauce) and diverse. My only gripe was trying to get sparkling or soda water to drink as my server looked very blank when trying to find out about sparkling or flat water.

I had the cheese ravioli in alfredo sauce and a slice of chocolate mousse cake and everything was phenomenal. They even had a gentleman playing the piano, saxophone, and singing. I can’t wait to come back and try the other things on the menu. Fantastic place for a date night!

Food and service were excellent. There was no rush, we had a 4 hr dinner. Atmosphere was QUIET. We had no trouble conversing. It was NOT needlessly loud and echo-y like modern restaurants.

Very cool place to enjoy some Italian cuisine. There’s live music & an accommodating staff.

The lasagna was hot and fresh but had no ricotta cheese at all. The atmosphere was beautiful however I wouldn’t buy that again. The bread 🥖 is hard. The drinks 🍹 was the best part.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here tonight. She worked here 25 years ago as a server and has really good memories of her time here. The food is just as amazing as it was then. The service was excellent, and the place was clean and wonderfully maintained. We were married recently in Africa, and our family could not attend, so we are planning on having dinner here for our family in May. I can't wait. They will love it!

Had plenty of seating but it was the holiday season when I went. The calamari was great. My wife's salad was pretty good, however my pasta needed a little more salt/pepper, which was already provided on the table. Overall though, a pleasant experience and I would bring my friends here given the chance.

We found this place by accident and sure glad we did. The reception , atmosphere, friendly welcome was a great start to our discovery! Once we sat down the waitress was amazing and the wine and food was excellent! The owner a older fella came to our table to say hi and make sure our dining experience was a good one. We hope to come back to eat here again someday when were visiting the area.

Wait staff and manager were very nice, friendly and excellent at their jobs. The breads, minestrone, veal parm, and rigatoni with pomodoro sauce were terrific. I didn't care for the artichoke appetizer that was drowned in lemon sauce; it tasted like lemon-flavored eggs. Atmosphere is dim except for bar area which has an abundance of television screens. Music piped in was 80s-90s pop, which doesn't quite fit the Italian atmosphere nor the mostly older early-dinner clientele.

Haven’t been here in years. Finally went back with friends for dinner and drinks. Bartender, and our waitresses were excellent. Best seafood pasta I’ve ever had, and enough for two meals. Thank you Picano’s for an enjoyable evening!

Great service. We loved that it wasn’t crowded. The food was delicious. It’s been hard to find some fresh pasta since I’ve traveled back from Italy. This place comes close!!!

Wife took one bite of her food then sent her dish back, couldn't get it removed from the bill. My food was mediocre at best - all of it was expensive. Server flirted with men at the table but was standoffish to females in the group (actually kind of funny).

Excellent, classic Italian food with slow cooked, fully-flavored marinara...like my Sicilian mother's Sunday Gravy. Good service, great food, warm ambience.

Tried going with family for a holiday meal. Service seems undereducated, but in this climate that is reasonable. Each course we tried to find pleasure in what we ordered but were met with disappointment and dissatisfaction based on the price point. Bland cold food, and meals that did not match the menu specs, without notice of missing items or offers to substitute. Just bummed for our efforts to support local...

My family and I have been coming here since I was a child. The food, atmosphere, and amazing staff has made us return time and time again. Definitely recommend for a nice night out or if you'd like to have a gathering.

I absolutely love this place! The food and staff is always spot on. I had my bridal shower here recently and everything was phenomenal, they truly went above and beyond!

I had a small piece of Morel mushroom, which is native to the Detroit area. It is delicious! The main dish I ordered was Cajun shrimp and chicken noodles. Absolutely perfect! A great place to dine in family. Highly recommended.
