They will steal from you once they get your credit card, as it happened to me. Not even sure how my credit card company let them get away with it. 3 years after I visited this location they charged a card with an expired date. Donā€™t get me wrong I love OTF and have been a member for 5 years in NJ where I live. This never happened at any other studio Iā€™ve visited on my travels. Just stay clear of these people!!! Or watch your credit card.

Worst customer service I have ever experience. I canceled my membership in April, it is now July I am still being charged. I have called over 10 times and visited location in person so I can get a refund. All they tell me is that management will call me. Well is been 3 months I donā€™t have a single call from Management. Save your time money and energy and go somewhere else!

Orange theory Fitness is steal money business more than athletes business. They charge you 12$ if you reserve a class and don't attend class while you're buying unlimited classes. So they don't care of you when you talk to them but they care about money likewise they telling if you attend 5 days classes you will win a bottle from Orange theory Fitness. So how you win this bottle, you need to buy 15$ and attend following 5 days as a attending challenge. Otherwise you talk to them about leaving them they telling you that you will notice 30 days before. Why? It's the policy that you were signed on when you registered with them, when you try to read it they insist you to not care of it but if you want to. they will required you of the policy that they haven't let you know of the details in sides. Then they wants to charge you for another month. Unfortunately It just worst experience of being clients with them, so they treat you as money business not clients or as you work for them not buying them to training you.

My first time at this studio and I was going to checkin, and the guy was like, excuse me sir but youā€™ll have to wait outside, he did not give me a chance to explain who I was, that I was new or anything, just that no customers were allowed in the lobby before class. Thankfully itā€™s cooler outside today, but imagine waiting in 110plus heat outside. I was so upset I left, a workout center should be customer focused and it should create a welcoming environment for guests, this place failed I will not be back to the grant location.

Just as many others have said about this location, this location will steal your money and then it will be nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone helpful. It is now 3 months after cancelling that this location has continued to charge me even after filling out 2 cancellation forms in person, multiple phone calls, and an online inquiry. With both in person visits and phone calls, I am told they will call me back in 10 minutes or they will call me back the next day to discuss my refund, but I am met with radio silence. I have nothing against the classes itself, but trying to cancel a membership here is a nightmare. It is clear that this location is very poorly run as there is at least 10 other reviews by people that express this same exact issue or other shady practices. If at all possible, I would avoid this location all together as it seems the other locations do not have this issue. At this point, all I want is this location to stop falsely charging me after I cancelled months ago. Update: I emailed twice to the email that was provided to me in this review reply. Again, no one contacted me. Nothing was ever resolved.

Unfortunately after many years of being a dedicated OTF member I can no longer recommend Orange Theory Fitness in the entire Tucson Region. During the pandemic instead of caring for their members they began charging us without our approval. I was not the only one this happened to. Eventually, although the manager never responded to my phone calls or emails and I had to go into the studio to resolve the matter, I okayed those unauthorized charges to be kept in my account until I was ready to come back as a credit. When I was ready to return I was told I could not activate my account because it had already been activated. I found out that the manager had used the credit on my account to pretend that my account was a new activation (they are awarded bonuses for more activations.) This was all discovered with the regional manager present. There were no repercussions and no one ever acknowledged or apologized for the unethical practices. The fact that the regional manager knew about this and nothing has been done is a picture of the lack of ethical practices around the region. I sent an email detailing my situation to HR, owners, and other executives with a few 'we will get back to you responses' but no follow through. There are many other examples of staff being treated poorly and disrespected and other poor practices but I will stick to my personal story. The saddest part is the OrangeTheory does not need to lie or cheat to sell the great product they have. My hope is that one day our region can get new management that knows what it means to be ethical, have integrity, and to treat members and staff with the respect they deserve.

So far, I'm really enjoying working out at Orange Theory. The visual data that is available in real-time tells me how effective my workout is, allowing me to have targets for each class, and track my progress easily. The appointments also help keep me accountable. Brian, my trainer, is really great, and I love his music selections! People keep talking about how expensive it is, but I think it's a good value. You are essentially getting the same effects as if you were paying for a personal trainer, but at a much lower cost. Recommend!

My wife and I loved our first class, Chase Anna and Lexi were extremely welcoming and professional in introducing us to Orange Theory. Although we are moving from an area we were incredibly impressed with their kindness and flexibility leading up to our class. Sean was extremely polite and informative as he walked us through how the class would take place. The class was WAY better than I had imagined and extremely advanced. Monitoring heart rate and the use of technology enhanced the workout dramatically. The workout was very successful in muscle confusion, Sean was a great coach and created an awesome atmosphere for pushing yourself while maintaining a balanced workout. WOULD recommend 1,000%. The employees were friendly and empathetic, made us want to come back.

Love the structured classes with a great combination of cardio and strength training without worrying if youā€™re getting a good workout. Heart rate monitor guides how much to do so youā€™re not overdoing it or injuring yourself. The experienced coaches are fenomenal, always willing to help and give pointers on technique or modifications. Just a great welcoming environment for anyone looking to work out no matter your fitness level or training goals.

Like other people have said you have to read the fine print. They will bill you for two months of membership even if you donā€™t use it even after canceling. Not worth the hassle if you arenā€™t 150% committed. They also charged my boyfriend close to $200 for two months of unused membership. Donā€™t sign up unless youā€™re absolutely sure you are going to use the membership. Otherwise other gyms are 1/4 of the cost and donā€™t have strict commitments. I got charged almost $100 for a membership I never used. Very disappointed and wonā€™t be returning again.

Out of all the Orangetheory studios Iā€™ve been too I will never attend another after getting the wrong information about my membership and what can be done if Iā€™m unable to attend the classes due to work. I wanted to cancel my membership because I travel for work. It was the start of a new month when the $150 was deducted from my account. I asked if there was a way to save those classes because I wouldnā€™t be able to attend. I was told yes just to call ahead of time and it wouldnā€™t be an issue. Currently itā€™s been an issue, Iā€™ve spoke to 3 people so far and itā€™s still unresolved. I was told a manager would give me a call which havenā€™t happened. Completely dissatisfied and I feel ripped off.

I do not recommend orange theory. It is a corporate business run by people who are crooks. I absolutely loved workouts and it was very hard to leave because of the quality. However these people will steal your money. I canceled my membership and they build me for 6 months after I had canceled. They then refuse to give back the entire 6 months only returned three of them I finally went to my credit card company and got those additional 3 months back. These people still email and call me personally on a regular basis trying to get membership back. Stay away is my advice!

They call me CONSTANTLY and I've showed interest one time. The pushiness is ridiculous. I will not be joining this gym and also the cost is way too much.

This branch has some issues compared to others. 1) no one picks up the phone 2) after transferring here from a different studio I provided credit card info and they couldnā€™t figure out how permit me to book classes online via the app. 3) buy your packages elsewhere because they were charging more than my home studio. 4) coming to OTF for 5 years and this was the first and only studio to not let someone in at 6 minutes late. ā€˜Safetyā€™ reasons. Management would not refund the session. Was not helpful in providing additional contacts within OTF corporate. Simply told to look it up online. Inconsistently applying policy is not okay. 5) They are lucky to have David. He is a great coach.

The music and workout structure was very motivating! I like how Rachel, my Wednesday morning instructor, had a hands-off approach to guiding the workout so I could vibe with the beats. I'd never done a group workout before, but I liked getting to see how I stacked up against others in the class. It got me back into working out, so thanks Orange Theory!

Was my first time working out at this capacity ever. The entire class was so welcoming and positive. I felt completely judgement free here. Iā€™ve never felt comfortable going into gyms and this program has completely changed my opinion of group workouts. Iā€™ve already pre booked an entire month of classes

I truly enjoy the OTF workout, However the current management at the central location treats itā€™s employees extremely poorly. I would suggest that anybody thinking about joining Orangetheory patronize the other studio locations until the franchise owner fixes its management mess over there.

  • 1/5 Caitlin Y. 3 years ago on Google
Really enjoyed the workouts offered here, but had the worst experience with staff/billing. When the COVID-19 pandemic first closed down gyms, I was charged by Orangetheory despite being shut down. I could not get in contact with anybody during that time. When they reopened a few months later, I had to physically go in to the studio, even though I live much farther away now, and demand a cancellation. I also tried for a refund. I was told that my account would be cancelled and that I WOULD NOT have to pay for the following month (they have an incredibly backwards policy that does not entail immediate cancellation; a "30-day notice" is required). However, I was charged again after I had cancelled. I have tried 3 times now to get a refund, and no one will help me. I am a healthcare worker and need this money back. I feel strongly that gyms should not even be operating right now. With this being said, I implore readers to really think before joining Orangtheory. It has caused me nothing but problems since the pandemic started, which is incredibly saddening.

Always a pleasant experience and staff is super nice here. Coach Brian really brings the energy and Coach Denise is just the sweetest with her personal shout-outs during class. Iā€™d be here every day if I could!

If I could attend an OTF daily for my dopamine fix, I would. The workouts are a great compliment to my other physical activities and the coaches (especially Coach Brian) are motivating and care about what they do. OTF is great for those that travel often. I am able to attend a class at any OTF studio. Iā€™m great duo for the Staff, Community and Coaches for their support!

I have always had a wonderful experience at this location and itā€™s only gotten better since they got rid of the overweight, out of shape manager. The short feminine blonde man with the botched brain surgery isnā€™t much better but he will do. What has made this location so special has always been the top tier coaches until recently. I am not too sure whatā€™s been going on within the area but recently the head coach from east location has been lingering around and Iā€™m not sure whatā€™s up with this. On behalf of your membership please to not send us coach Drew. He flat out sucks at life and is the reason why half of us left east. We would rather have the pelaton lady on the screen or a virtual coach. Thank you.

I really enjoy the set up of the class. Most of the time I go before work and I like the way the coaches have everything planned out for you, and I don't have to think. I also appreciate that on days where I just need to work out and not talk to anyone, I can do that, but if I'm feeling like talking people are more than happy to be social as well.

On October 31, 2019 I did a "Free First-Time" Orangetheory Fitness Class and I really enjoyed it. I had been researching the Orangetheory methodology on the internet and my expectations were more than met. The staff at Central Tucson Grant Rd Orangetheory were very welcoming and that's a key to signing on to anything new. I felt lots of personal attention from everyone I had a chance to meet. It was an easy decision for me to sign up for additional Orangetheory classes. An unexpected promotional offer of a free Orangetheory wristband made it a definite yes. The first class left me feeling very energized for days later. I look forward to my next class. I was also happy to learn that the wristband works with the Orangetheory App which allows me to track my performance while doing home workouts. Overall Orangetheory Fitness is state of the art and I recommend it highly.

I came in to cancel my membership in January and was told that would be my last charge. I got charged again a month later and the sales associate again told me ā€œthat charge was a mistake on corporates end, and youā€™ll be refundedā€. The charge was not removed so I called and was told that when I went to cancel in January it was technically my 30 day notice, which is why I was charged again. I am really upset because of the wrong information that was given to me twice. The manager on the phone really didnā€™t seem to care that her employees Ali and Kat gave me wrong information. If I had been told from the beginning that I had to give 30 days notice I would not be so upset. Otf is way over priced, and now that Iā€™ve been through this hassle I would not recommend it.

  • 5/5 Cathy N. 4 years ago on Google
I liked the fast paced workout and environment, up beat music, and the instructor Staci did a great job staying on top of motivating us such as giving us times. Like us pushing hard and letting us know when 3o seconds were over and we only had 30 more. It was fun and i enjoyed being around the energy in the room. It also helped to motivate me. I left feeling a little sore but really great and proud of myself. I don't think I've ever pushed myself like that before. I also enjoyed seeing where i was at with my heart rate (the zones) and calories burned. It was an all around really great experience!

Very expensive and difficult to cancel membership. Not very understanding on needing to cancel to save money, they charge you another month no matter what and they charge you to freeze. Workout is always pretty good, but thereā€™s way better places to get a workout that donā€™t take advantage of people who canā€™t come many times a week.

My boyfriend recently gifted me a membership to Orange Theory. One morning this week while I was in class at the Central location, someone broke the window of my car and stole all my belongings. While the staff were generous in allowing me to use the phone to call the police, my bank, etc., no one has bothered reaching out to me since the incident to follow up regarding cameras on the property (they had emailed the property management company and were awaiting a reply), the loss of my valuables, my safety, nothing. I heard from staff and other members that car break-ins are common there, and I also saw car window glass in the parking lot indicating other incidents, but there are no signs or warnings anywhere. Doesn't exactly make me want to return there ever again. BE CAREFUL!

Orangetheory is like the opposite of fight club- because once you drink the kool-aid, you can't stop talking about OT. No but seriously, this is one of my favorite workouts that I've found and actually stuck to. It's good for all levels of expertise- from beginners to gym rats. The coaches are all really nice and helpful if you need options for particular workouts or need help with one of the movements. The coaches also have different styles in music, which I love, because each class with a different coach has a different vibe. As a healthcare professional, I really enjoy the heart rate monitoring aspect of the class. It's a fun way for me to track my progress. The gym also does fun incentivizing competitions where you can get a discounted rate, or a hat, or t-shirt, etc. All of that, plus the different daily exercises make it easy for me to stay interested and continue coming to the classes. As for my physique- I haven't really followed a strict diet since beginning 8 months ago, and I'm starting to notice pretty awesome changes: I am noticeably stronger, I have more energy, I eat what I want without remorse, and my body is starting to really look toned (this last thing probably would have happened quicker had I actually given up all the tasty things... and booze. But whatevs- I can have my cake and eat it too). If you're thinking about checking out a class- do it!

Be cautious of your credit card on file with Orange Theory as they will make cancellation difficult and owed refunds nearly impossible. My wife was being charged her monthly twice on her card for 3-4 months before she noticed the error, and it took corporate 5 months to figure out how to reverse the charges. I provided a medical letter for a hip injury that required a hip replacement to cancel and but despite this they 'froze' my membership instead, which unfroze 2 months later and they charged me for 5 months while I was on known medical leave after that. Instead of an easy refund in this situation, they kept trying to bump me up to corporate who would simply not respond to my emails or talk to me directly. They have yet to refund the funds a year later despite it being a ADA violation. Unfortunately, they are are corporate run company who is focused on collecting dollars as their top priority and taking shortcut (ethical or not) to keep those dollars. They have certainly lost me as a customer and a fan as a result what I believe to be unethical business practices.
