Anyone traveling through Tulare, Ca. must stop here. It’s just off hwy 99 on ave. 200. Outstanding service, friendly staff, clean restaurant. With plenty of parking. I went for the birria de chivo en caldo today, man it was delicious. Also very important is the hand made tortillas, this is the only place where you will actually find a good tortillera for the job, they are soft and so good. These guy’s do it all, the salsas are really good! Hands down one of the best places for Birria in the Central Valley. I can almost guarantee everything on menu is just as good. Highly recommend, I will definitely be back!

Beautiful people, beautiful restaurant and most excellent food! Everything thing I've eaten here has been very good and filling. They have homemade tortillas and salsas that are soooo addictive! The meat and vegetables are fresh, and have great color, taste and texture. The portion size is generous, even for a man-sized belly, and they check on you at about the right pace to see how you are doing, and if you need a refill of your beverage. I usually get the Mexico made Coca-Cola, so I just order a second if I'm really thirsty. The staff is pleasant and professional. Even during covid they obeyed the rules and opened only when authorized. This made it rough on us that eat here often, but I'm sure it was best for all citizens. They clean often and follow the state protocol, which is a great example! 😁😁😁 I have always received wonderful service and expect to continue dining here when I come through town. EDIT: The menu has a large selection offering plenty of meal options. I did not mention on my previous review that this restaurant (usually) has a HUGE treat/candy section at the check-out area. My favorite treat is the crumble peanut-butter cookie.. yum! yum! 🤭🤭🤭

Came here on a Saturday morning. Easy to find off the 99 on K St. Restaurant wasn't too packed when I got there around 9:30, but got more busy when I left around 11:00. You seat yourself and are promptly served by a waitress that brings you chips and salsa. Really dig the green salsa! I ordered a birria de chivo with an horchata. The bowl came out really quick. The portion size is very generous and very warm. Perfect for a crisp morning. Plus they serve handmade tortillas. The birria broth was really good and the meat portions were a good size too. Not too gamey, if you're concerned about that flavor. The horchata was good too. Overall, I highly recommend coming here for your breakfast needs. Definitely wanna try the rest of the menu. Looks very promising.

Beef and pork tacos tasted like they took several days of roasting and seasoning and care to make. The tortillas were so light and soft I felt like I could still see the fingerprints of the people making them etched in the soft dough.

We have been coming here for close to 10 yrs. Found it by accident and it was fate. The food is really good and people are always friendly. If you want fast service,no but that's because it's a mom n pop place with lots of locals. However the waitress is always nice and she handles the whole place by herself at the times we go in. With that the service is good and friendly too. I love the Linguiça so I get that with my breakfast every time. It was here I had it for the first time and best choice I made. Food has never disappointed.

Birrieria Apatzingan on Turale CA is the best place to stop for food when driving through HWY 99, Birriera is my favorite, is delicious, full of flavor. They have so many different options available the makes it hard to choose from. We been coming here for years now, everything has been perfect, service is always great and ready for anything we have asked. This place is a must try.

Delicious birria! Everything that I tasted, started with the chips and salsa, handmade tortillas, birria plate medium size is enough, even I don't finished, the best that I tasted in years, for sure next trip have to stop here totally recommend! Don't miss this place, birria is the specialty but they have a super good Mexican menu.

Man if you don’t stop and grab menudo you missing out!!!! The menudo is as tender as my wife’s breasts, very delicious!!! Try the birria plate it is very tasty!!

My birria was not very good. No flavor and super expensive. Was not pleased. The waitress was rude with my wife and sister in law.

We really enjoyed the food. Our waitress was very kind. She was the only server/cashier that was there. She was running around so much we felt bad.

The quesatacos were delicious. The quesadillas had fried tortillas with dry cheese and were left behind not eaten. If you like hot salsa and chips, their red and green sauce were very spicy. Service was poor. The server did not check on us, we had to flag them down for service. Paying the bill was an additional wait without anyone at the register. The tables were semi clean and greasy to the touch. The bathrooms were disgusting. There are two toilets side by side in the restroom without a divider. The whole place needs a thorough cleaning. Not sure I'd try this place again.

I like the food, but the service is really bad. attendees don't have any control over whom they are serving. They look like if they were lost. I'm just saying.

This is hands down the best authentic Mexican restaurant in the country!!! I live in North Carolina and I drive truck through here and I have been stopping here for years, it is absolutely amazing, beautiful people beautiful food!!! And they have plenty of space for approximately 5 or 6 trucks!!!

HANDS DOWN THE BEST MOM AND POP RESTAURANT FOR LEGIT MEXICAN FOOD HOME STYLE. I have to say it's the best comida casera Mexicana aquí en Tulare CA. Neta que si. I been here four times in the past 2 months from Los Angeles to Fresno and back for work and I have to say... IT'S THAT DAMN GOOD. I am not whatsoever picky when it comes to almost everything but VERY picky with birria y menudo because a lot of other Mexican mom and pop shops cook these dishes and oftentimes no sale nada de bueno. But right here at Birrieria Apatzingán, I'm always satisfied everytime I come and eat here. No tienen rivales. First off, The service is amazing. Very attentive and also very friendly. Every few minutes they'll ask if everything is okay. And second, there's a lot of tables to sit down and eat as well as a big parking lot. It's very roomy inside and out. A really wonderful thins is that this restaurant has a classic Mexican restaurant vibe with Regional Mexican music (corridos, norteñas, etc) playing from the restaurant's kitchen and their tables and chairs remind me of restaurants in Mexico. --There's two restrooms as well damas y caballeros. I refuse to eat at another birrieria in particular here in the San Joaquin Valley. Hat's off to Birrieria Apatzingán. Arreeeee 👍

Nothing around the area but this right here is something special!! Took me and my buddy over an hour to get an Uber for about a mile down the road from the Flying J but the food and service are amazing!! We’re from Tampa, FL and never had authentic Mexican food like this and the restaurant is super authentic!! Great food and great people!! Trucking parking available. We found out after getting an Uber 😂

Honestly like I always say I love food but this restaurant I seen the reviews and they claim to be good in my experience I left my food there I order chilequlies and I left them I also order there famous birria and it wasn’t bad but it need something? Overall u have to seat ur self grab ur own menu and for me stop here again no thanks but hey my experience

Food was sooooooo delicious! Every time we come here, we're never disappointed!

The food was overall good. However we were blatantly neglected by the waitress. She only had two tables but not once asked how we’re doing. She never once made eye contact with our table which was adjacent to her only other table that she was very attentive to. She forgot our side of rice and beans. When paying and double checking if we had been charged she simply stated no and never acknowledge or apologize for forgetting it.

A hidden gem, if your looking for authentic food this is the spot, everything is super good highly recommend to everyone, well worth the stop
