We visited here after having dinner one night after someone in our party mentioned reading about it online. It was actually very cool. It's like you are standing there in front of an open mic talking or singing. What's even more crazy is when we tried to record it with our phones, it didn't sound like the echo, it was normal. But you can definitely tell the difference. There was several people out walking around for it to be close to 9:30pm, and yes there was a few homeless people amongst those. None of them came up to us or bothered us in any way, so we just kept to ourselves as well. A very unique thing to do in the area if you like quirky fun free things to do!

October 2023 - Watching the "Tulsa King" series on the plane on the way to Tulsa, we had to check out the center of the universe featured in one episode. It took some searching to find it, but with some help from locals we did. The Art Deco district of Tulsa is a great spot to walk around and see the sights, btw. I'm including some photos that can show you the path of how to get here in case you don't run into a resident. We went through the Bank of Oklahoma. (BOK) As for not being able to hear what anyone says when one is standing in the designated spot, sadly, not so. We arrived when another couple did visiting from Milwaukee. They were also curious. We said they could go first. Both stood and talked one after the other, and whoever the three of us were witnessing this act, agreed we could hear everything they were saying. My partner and I took our place in the center after they left, and found the same result. There is, however, a noticeable echo when speaking. Maybe that's worth the visit in that you're not yelling off of a cliff... Interesting phenomenon, nevertheless.

This is so cool to experience. When standing in the center of this area your voice is amplified and echoey. When you are outside the area listening to the person on the spot speaking they sound softer than they actually are. Definitely recommend visiting this spot to try out.

A cool spot where you can hear your voice return in stereo. This area of the city was cleaner and quieter than expected. I would have given this 5 stars if there was a plaque explaining the history behind this spot, and another plaque explaining the background behind the tower with etches of people on one side and airplanes on the other.

As seen on Tulsa King it is a fun visit. The claims that you cannot be heard outside the circle are kinda real. But it's not what you think. When you visit you will find out what I mean. I tried to record my voice while inside the center but what I heard was not on my video. Easy to find parking very near and worth the time

How curious! Stand in the center of the circle and speak and you hear a strange echo, but anyone outside of the circle can hear you with no distortion whatsoever. Fun, quick, free stop. Glad you to experience this real oddity. Wish they had some sort of placard or sign. If you don't know it's there you'd walk right by and have no clue.

Stand in the middle and talk in your head. Your voice will echo in your echo if you talk. Also, it has one of the beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. Beat time to visit is just before sunset. Take some beautiful pictures

It is a fun place to stand and make noise. You can hear multiple echos back to you. They said people outside the circle can't hear you but we didn't find that. It was a fun place to experiment with what was going on. It wasn't busy and we had plenty of time to explore.

We visited this place occasionally after randomly finding out about it online. We were skeptical at first, but it actually works! There were a couple homeless people around there, but they didn’t infringe on our visit. A pretty cool experience to check out while driving through Tulsa.

Things that make you go hmmmmmm?.?.? Something fun & quirky for all ages to do in downtown Tulsa. Stand in the center of the circle and speak to hear your voice echo in the open. Yes cool! We obviously didn’t read the reviews first , we were “those” people walking around talking loudly in search of the echo… omg! When we found the center we definitely blushed lol …twas funny for the people “in the know” around us. I’m definitely going to bring my grandchildren here to find the center they will love it!

The “Center of the Universe” is a little-known mysterious acoustic phenomenon. If you stand in the middle of the circle and make a noise, the sound is echoed back several times louder than it was made. It’s your own private amplified echo chamber.

If in the Tulsa Downtown Arts District, walk over to see this weird little phenomenon. Look for the tall iron spire (top of it is shaped like a Phillips 66 sign!) and in front there is a brick circle. By standing in the middle of the circle, you can speak out loud and you will hear your voice reverberate, yet no one else can hear that echo but you. There are no signs to explain what causes this, which should really be added. The City should do some repair to the brick circle, but a fun stop nevertheless.

Cool place close to downtown Tulsa by the train station. Has a tall cloud sculpture to the North of the Center of the Universe that can be seen from afar. At the center if you talk or make sounds you get a strange sound effect that even experts disagree why this occurs. I went just to say that I have been at the center of the universe!

Very cool attraction in downtown Tulsa. We went on a Sunday morning & parking was easy to find. You really do hear an echo! Must see if in the area!

This is a very unique spot in Tulsa. It is located on the pedestrian bridge on the north side of the Williams Tower (BOK). The tower itself was built by the same architect who built the original twin World Trade Towers in lower Manhattan and the Tulsa tower is a half scale replica. Standing in the circle of bricks has a profound effect on sound. When you stand outside of the circle and face the tower the sculpture (Artificial Cloud) has a bizarre effect on the tower. The art was placed there in the 90s and legend has it, the native American artist had an unrecognized vision. The artist later wrote that the Artificial Cloud represents the destruction of humanity. You be the judge.

Pretty nifty little stop. The kids had fun with the echos. They also had fun with the light up bricks surrounding the echo circle. Not all of them light up but they had a good time stomping them to see which ones worked. Quite a few people stopped by while we were there. Good spot for a quick leg stretch with a quirky attraction.

If you go, go with the correct expectations: This is a mildly quirky thing to do for a few minutes, and it's not much to look at. There's no sign but there are a lot of loose bricks. That said, I had a great time. I was killing time between appointments downtown and stopped by to check it out. It's a pretty neat little effect to play around with.

It's an interesting stop. But a bit broken down. Public parking cost money, but not worth the paying it. You'd get more of of the experience of you found free parking and walked to the site. As you can see it's not kept up.

I suggest getting here early/late as midday it fills up. The echo point is cool and unexpected. However, the monument and grounds are in deplorable condition.

It's a unique experience where, in the middle of the bridge, if you stand in the middle where the two halves of the circle meet and talk or yell loudly, you can hear yourself echo.

Weirdest Coolest thing ever. It is worth the curiosity of it all!! THE SO-CALLED CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE in downtown Tulsa is marked by a small concrete circle in the middle of a larger circle of bricks. It’s not much to look at, but looking isn’t really the point. The “Center of the Universe” is a little-known mysterious acoustic phenomenon. If you stand in the middle of the circle and make a noise, the sound is echoed back several times louder than it was made. It’s your own private amplified echo chamber

Interesting acoustical phenomena. You stand at a seemingly open area and as you talk and rotate 360 degrees there’s certain directions where you can talk normally and your words echo back to you and other times there is nothing. Weird, the experts can’t explain it but it just exist.

That place was terrible. It looked really sketchy The only thing that was cool was the acoustics. There were no signs or any plaques indicating what it was. Just a random statue and a broken up circle. It definitely needs to be redone.

Very interesting. When you talk your voice is bounced back to you in stereo. The place could use a little love and repair.

I know a complete renovation is coming as I’ve taken apart of the poll asking residents what they would like to see done with this area, but it’s gone downhill quite a bit since the last time I was here years ago. Hoping for a much better scene next time I visit.

This place was something to see and experience while in Tulsa. Although I never experienced the phenomenon that everybody discussed, it was still interesting to see and check off while visiting this city.

Honestly I was expecting something completely different… I mean : “the center of the Universe” great experience! It’s an amazing feeling to experience it. Definitely best time to go would be fall or spring. Walking distance to get to the center.

Such a weird cool experience. It really does sound different inside the circle :)

Gotta be honest- not the best area and just a run down circle. If you are in Tulsa for something else, go for it; but don’t go out of your way to see it. We stopped because we watch Tulsa king and we’re here for our daughters triathlon. Yes. You can hear just fine outside the circle. Lol. Big golden driller statue was super cool though! Different area but not that far.
