I
visit
Costco
regularly.
For
one
thing,
their
gas
prices
average
out
to
a
better
price
than
many
of
the
stations
closer
to
home.
The
produce,
snack,
dairy,
and
cold
case
departments
are
excellent
and
the
bakery
has
only
one
drawback.
It's
the
same
flaw
as
the
rest
of
the
store,
I
guess:
it's
impossible
to
buy
only
a
few
donuts
or
one
cookie.
If
you
want
any
muffins,
you
must
buy
a
dozen.
If
you
want
a
pie,
be
ready
to
take
home
a
huge
pie
for
20
people.
With
other
items,
like
frozen
Korean
or
Chinese
dumplings,
it's
possible
to
store
them
without
much
trouble.
Baked
goods
don't
freeze
well,
so
storing
most
of
a
dozen
cheese
Danish
is
problematic.
Still,
Costco
foods
and
other
items,
such
as
eye
glasses,
paper
goods,
tires,
kitchen
appliances,
and
clothes,
are
good
value
for
money.
Additionally,
Costco
chooses
its
staff
carefully.
Every
Costco
employee
I've
met
in
the
25
years
I've
shopped
at
the
Tumwater
warehouse
has
been
patient,
friendly,
and
helpful.
That's
because
the
company
only
hires
people
who
are
naturally
outgoing,
with
a
good
work
ethic:
they
walk
into
their
first
interview
that
way.
