Nice and clean decor design. Got a jar of marmalade jam for souvenir; bought a brownie as it looked so delicious! It was very soft, creamy and chocolatey! Friendly service. The price is higher. Located at lovely downtown tunbridge wells.

Not a good experience. Looking forward to a coffee in Tunbridge Wells chose Gail's as I have heard it is a super wonderful place. I found it underwhelming. No welcome (the staff are friendlier in most other cafes may be you need to learn/train from others). They looked miserable. The lattes were luke warm and too frothy for a latte. They were nothing special. The quiche was okay and the flour less chocolate was good. Sat outside on the most uncomfortable metal chairs ever found in any cafe I have been in. Inside the environment was drab and unspecial. For the reputation and prices I don't get it. Not for me.

Good coffee, sausage roll and muffin were nice. I found the server not very friendly and the decor stark, chipped table and horrible metal trays. Over rated.

The prices have gone up and everything is so expensive now for what you get - £8.4 for a tiny piece of chicken in a bun. The tiny SoHo buns are now £2 when they are literally off cuts of the other dough - that was the whole point of them to be a cheap option. I also don’t mind paying a bit more for quality but they don’t even warm up the food or pastries. I got a ham chicken tarragon pastry and the filling was cold and pastry was soggy - it should be kept in a warming oven / rack before serving. The pastries at greggs are better kept and cost a fraction of the price.. The SoHo bun was also drier than usual like it was from the day before. Going to have to start giving Gail’s a miss because they’re upping their prices whilst dropping the size of their products and quality.

Outside of London Gails`s does not offer many vegan option. When it comes to bakery good often there is no vegan offer at all or one bakery good. Please produce more vegan options, cause all I already had at Gail`s were just wonderful. The coffee is great and available with plant-based milk but it is an impertinence that you have to pay extra for this environmentally friendly, animal suffering-free alternative, while cow's milk, which is intended for the calves, is included. This is not very forward-looking and favors the unhealthy, suffering-causing cow's milk.

I have soft spot for Gail’s, especially their delicious bread and aromatically flavoursome Jasmin green tea. The staff are very friendly and the energy was uplifting.

The food is delicious and fresh but extortionately priced for what it is. The hot drinks are also tiny for the price you pay. Quite a clinical environment for dining in, reminds me of a hospital cafe.
