The mausoleum of Sultan Sanjar, rebuilt with the help of the Turks. He died in 1157, and his tomb destroyed by the Mongols in 1221. His death brought an end to the Seljuk dynasty but he was the longest reigning Muslim ruler with strong ties to Persia including the greatest poets of the time.

i did not know the man who buried here so far but i become familiar with him after a TV series broadcasted by TRT1 turkish broadcasring chanel early years that names Uyanis: Büyük Selcuklu .Soltan Sanjar devoted his life to İslam world and fought againts enemies he was a Righteous ruler and even more rest in peace. i learned that if you follow right path you will never lost and even if you but god will find and warriors never been forgotten no matter what kind of it.

MERV atau MARWA wiki inventions Merv was a great commercial centre of the Oriental type with a bazaar, shops for artisans, money changers, goldsmiths, weavers, coppersmiths, and potters. It was an administrative and religious centre, containing mosques, madrasas, palaces, and other buildings.

One of the unique and the best famous ancient monuments in Turkmenistan. Also included to UNESCO Heritage List. Higly recommended to visit not only this place but other small monuments which are located on this area.
