A wonderful stadium with cutting edge technology and great facilities. The primary stadium amidst the Olympic Complex that housed the Asian Indoor Martial Art Games 2017. A grand official opening was held with many performances and parades. Truly a great sporting event of international magnitude. This Stadium was built with these games in mind and was used for the first time for these games. Platforms on the stadium playing field were electronically raised and lighting/sound systems were first class rated. Gigantic wide LCD screens were also placed and the hallmark of the stadium was the huge stallion’s figure head. A momentous event in sports and we were lucky enough to be part of it. The Games was held under the auspices of the Olympic Council of Asia and the General Assembly Meeting was also part of this incredible event. It was a most memorable event and visit to beautiful Ashgabat in Tukministan!

I am writing this review more for the city itself than the stadium. I was very lucky as an American to be able to attend a conference is Ashgabat which is one of the most amazing cities I have ever seen. The food is wonderful and the people are very friendly. They are committed to building a vibrant city and top tier sports facilities for its own people and the world. I hope to go back again someday.

Very large stadium for athletism in the white marble village

Beautiful area and amazing construction. But terrible waste of spending on the opening ceremonies. Long, drawn out, and glorification of the leadership more than the people. This entire city, though it’s gorgeous and beautiful, the Government isn’t for the people or by the people. This entire city is a monument to the dictatorship not freedom and tranquility. The money that was taken for the city’s construction could have helped so many people who are living in poverty in Turkmenistan and build up degraded infrastructure throughout existing cities. Instead, the government (mainly the dictator) wanted to build a beautiful city from scratch.

Interesting horse structure in Ashgabat Olympic Stadium

This is a beautiful place in Ashgabat with many scenery view and has great experience of playing the tennis. The tennis courts and bowling place is amazing and world class level. More tournaments should be organised. Unfortunately this place is not opened to be used by public and hardly someone allowed to use the facilities. The authority should allow the kids to prepare for various games and tournaments.

I can not comment the Olympic Stadium because I did not go inside to observe the facility. I was there for the Asian indoor games which was very nice. Dining and village were wonderful. Friendly people. The big Stadium looked beautiful from the outside. You can see there are beautiful government buildings. It was a very weird place because streets were empty and not many people walking around. But very beautiful city.
