Don’t take your bunnies here. My bunny couldn’t walk I believe that the cause was because it was cold and maybe he got cramps. We took him to the vet December 7, Dr.T the bunny vet there didn’t tell us what was wrong with him and just gave us medicine to give him, but she didn’t tell us what the medicine was going to do, we thought it was going to help him be able to walk again but no. We gave him the medicine every day starting the 7th for and entire week but 7 days later after the vet visit (December 14) my bunny passed away in the morning. He didn’t want the medicine and we had noticed that my bunny was becoming more tired the more we gave him the medicine. My bunny was happy even though he couldn’t walk and he never lost his appetite. The medicine was to kill him, but why? They didn’t if ask for our consent, they just gave it to us, we didn’t even know what the medicine was for. The worst thing was that he was ok he just couldn’t walk. Now I think to myself and think “maybe my bunny would still be alive if we hadn’t took him to the vet.” We had saved my bunny from a sickness without taking him to the vet and he could’ve died of that. But he didn’t, I find it impossible that just because he couldn’t walk because I don’t know maybe he had cramps because of the cold he died. Please don’t take your bunny here my bunny was a happy bunny and super energetic and still was even though he couldn’t walk. Please don’t take your bunny here you don’t want them to end up like mine.

I love this Vet hospital. I cannot say enough great things about them. My 95 lb Cane Corso got shot in the front left leg just above her wrist. The radius bone was shattered, one of the tendons was severed and the other tendon damaged. She spent 4 days in the hospital. The hospital has a lil chapel, which is where they took me to visit her when I came to visit. Iayed on the floor with her and cried 🙏💜 My baby spent 6 weeks in a cast. Monte Vista did such a great job that she doesn't even limp. 👏 💜💜💜 Thank you Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital

My dog was unfortunately diagnosed with primary glaucoma. Monte Vista was not only able to see my Forrest the same day, but did not charge me any additional fee. All of the staff I interacted with were polite, caring, and earnestly concerned for Forrest's well-being. The cost of medication and exams was very reasonable, less than most other places I checked. They also allowed me a complimentary check up two days after, when his condition worsened. I would like to thank Dr. Becky Lee specifically for taking the time to answer my many questions, despite it being 40 degrees and misting. Her advice concerning his long-term care and quality of life going forward were invaluable. I would highly recommend Monte Vista Animal Hospital to anyone.

The staff here is amazing! They truly car about our animals! I brought my dog in because we thought he had a fox tail. They came to the conclusion that it was just allergies! They even offered to keep him over night. They are affordable and caring! I highly recommend them!

We recently lost our beloved DUKE he was 11 1/2yrs. old. Dr. Santos has been my vet for 20+ years as his practice grew so did his staff & Doctors, which are AMAZING! Not only did the staff members understand our wanting to hold on to our boy a little longer, they put my breaking heart at ease when I said my goodbyes ❤️ The entire staff at Monte Vista Animal Hospital are caring, helpful & supportive! I love when I call the office the ladies are right on my request from emailing me updated documents to scheduling appointments. When checking in they are ready to check you in with a SMILE & COLD WATER ! I honestly don’t think any other Animal Hospital has the hospitality like Monte Vista does!

My baby girl Daisy was having parvo symptoms and after calling multiple different places, they were the only ones who were willing to see her the same day! They’re very friendly and professional. After running a parvo test it came back negative. Daisy was prescribed three different medications and is doing way better now!

After having a bad experience with another vet, I came to Monte Vista and they did not disappoint. The staff genuinely cares about your pets, from the moment that I called them before I came, they were nothing but sweet, informative and communicated so well. They told me that it might be a wait since they have appointments with regular clients but despite that, they were so fast, and took care of my dog right away. I am so grateful that this Vet exists. If you’re thinking about bringing your dog here, I highly recommend it.

The staff is so wonderful and communicate with you so wonderfully. Dr. Davis is WONDERFUL!!!!! She's so amazing and kind and takes such amazing care of your babies. It's absolutely worth the drive from Modesto. You guys rock!

I drove all the way from Merced to this pet hospital. None of the nearby clinics would see my sick 6 month old puppy. I called every single one from Merced, Atwater, Livingston, etc. Thankfully, I came across Monte Vista Hospital and they were able to get me in for an appointment right away! My puppy was extremely lethargic, vomiting and not wanting to eat. She didn’t have contact with any other dogs and never left our home. They immediately diagnosed her with Parvo, which was the last thing I suspected. Thankfully, with their diagnosis, I was able to quickly take action to save her life. They gave her an antibiotic & nausea shot, and IV fluids to rehydrate her. I couldn’t afford the hospital treatment, so I decided to do the at home treatment. The male doctor who works there was incredibly nice and not only gave me thorough directions, but gave me confidence that I could save my pet if I was diligent with the at home treatment. I am so happy that my puppy survived. Months later, she is a healthy and strong Parvo survivor! Thank you Monte Vista Hospital for helping me save my pet! I can’t thank you guys enough!!

I can't adequately praise this clinic highly enough. The level of professionalism and compassion for both, our labradors and us, their humans, is unequaled. The staff is very helpful and efficient in providing both regular visits and trauma visits; putting at ease all involved. Wonderful people!

This is a great animal hospital with professional, caring, and compassionate staff. I have brought two pets here and I was always impressed with how well my pets and I were treated. The first time I came to Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital, my dog needed to have foxtails removed from his ears. This was in 2020 during the pandemic so I was more emotional than usual. They were very patient with me. My dog received good treatment as well. (This part is sadder but is important to mention.) I had an elderly cat who I took to Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital. My family and I realized she was getting weaker and seemed to be in pain. A vet examined her and she was diagnosed with Kidney Disease. They told us in detail what was wrong with her and what our options were. They gave me medication to give her to relieve some of her pain and slow down the progression of Kidney Disease. But unfortunately Kidney Disease in cats cannot be cured. Today we had to euthanize my cat. We had her for 12 years and my family and I loved her very much. Once again I was touched by how caring the staff was. My mom was worried about if we were making the right decision. So, a vet gave my cat an examination. We were taken to a private room to discuss what to do. The vet told us how sick she was and how her health was getting much worse. However, the vet in no way pressured us to put the cat down. The vet just reassured us that our cat was in pain and euthanizing her was a humane decision. After that, an employee brought our cat into the room and said we could take her out of her crate if we wanted. They even brought us tissues and water. We all took turns holding her and petting her one last time. When we were ready, the vet came back in. We were given the option to keep holding her or put her on the exam table. The vet put her on a blanket and my dad held her. The vet euthanized the cat when we were ready. She seemed peaceful in her last moments. In less than a minute she closed her eyes and she was gone. The vet let us stay in the room for as long as we needed. Which was good because at that point I was crying. When I got myself calmed down, we left and the receptionist said "Take care". Today was a sad day but the employees here really helped. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Don't know if they are taking in too many pets at one time because when I went in to drop off my pup from a Rescue adoption place set up for neutering, abrasion on leg, and rabies shot. When I showed up to pick my pup up was handed paperwork on neutering. I asked about the leg was told at first all was written down was neutering. I said no the leg and rabies. She looked up something on computer and said oh sorry ya. They are giving drops let me go get them. After returning with drops I was given instructions how and when to apply. Wasn't told what the diagnosis was. After driving home which is 45 min drive one way I called to ask where's the rabies tag and I want to be told exactly what's was wrong with leg. I was told they don't give tags just a certificate. I explained I don't have that either only the neutered one. She put me on hold told me sorry it wasn't done. That I could come back at my convenience she would put notes in computer. Then I asked what was on the leg for I wasnt informed. She replied ring worm. I was shocked and beside myself. Should of been told that at the hospital. So no follow up nothing to see if healing for neutering and or the ring worm. Dreadly driving back a day later to get the rabies shot to be told after they took my pup in the back that it was done the day of surgery. I was pissed and confused. Why one said not done then told by another it was done?? So I asked can I have the records for my filing. To be told no I would have to go through adoption agency. I'm the owner it's my pup? I will NOT be going back! I'll stick with my caring organized Animal Hospital. Which my pup has an appointment in a few days. Word of mouth is key to a business. I will not recommend this place nor the Rescue place. Both hand in hand was a confusing frustrating experience.

I drove all the way from San Jose to this facility, because a friend had highly recommended them (about a 2 hour drive). I wished there was a way to give a "star review individually" for each staff member. As you read on with my review, then hopefully you can understand why I gave 2 stars. It would have been a 5 star review, but unfortunately the front desk receptionists people that gave the billing documents statements, and the person that consulted on medication ruined this review for everyone at the Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital. First and foremost: I need to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to all the medical staff in the back room and to all the Vet Doctors for saving my fur baby's life!! When I arrived, all of the medical staff in the back, all the staff that assisted with curbside-check in, and the lady Vet Doctor on duty, they were all very sympathetic, they were all very patient, and most importantly they all gave me vibes that they genuinely cared about my pup and I. (I give them all 5 stars for genuinely caring) As for all of the front desk receptionists people that came out to give me the billing documents statement and the person that consulted on how the medication should be taken, they were not too friendly, and I don't recall if they ever asked me if I had any questions. They all gave me vibes that they did not genuinely cared about my pup and I. They were very quick to give me the billing documents and the medication. (I give them all 0 -zero stars for vibes for not genuinely caring) FYI: The lady that brought out the medication for my pup had consulted me to give my pup the medication 2 times a day, but when I read the label, it states to give “1/2 a pill” twice a day. WOW!! Also, I'm not sure why the Doctor on duty did not come out to greet and consult the pet owner --when a pet is discharged after being hospitalized for 3 days. (I thought that was odd?) Even though I had a great experience with the staff assisting with curbside check in, and the medical staff in back room, and all the Vet doctors. They all genuinely showed THEY ALL CARED. BUT....Because of the front desk receptionists people that came out to give me the billing documents statement and the person that consulted on how the medication should be taken. They all genuinely showed THEY ALL DID NOT CARE. Sad to say, I will not return to this facility for any services (and I have 7 fur babies).

Incredibly compassionate for a trip over the rainbow bridge. Great sadness Jimmy, you taught a dog how to be a dog for 17 years, the mini dachshund that trained a rescue pitbull. Jimmy was the King. .

Staff from the beginning was so friendly and welcoming. Even the Dr that helped my poor dog get a foxtail out of his paw was very friendly and not to mention amazing! My dog came out happy as if he didn’t have a minor procedure! Definitely satisfied with their Services!!

My first visit with my dog was good very friendly staff the only thing was due to Covid they have you stay in your car so I didn’t get to see how my dog did for her first dr visit. But they were still very friendly and had a good flow of checking us in and out

We recently brought in 2 feral cats that we've been taking care of to get them fixed and the whole process from beginning to end was smooth and amazing. Everyone was so nice and helpful and answered all of our questions that we had. The cost to get the cats spayed and also to get their rabies and flea shots was affordable and not overpriced like at other locations. Both cats recovered quick and they are back to being their normal selves already. If you're looking to get a feral cat fixed and getting their shots at an affordable price then this pet hospital is the one that I recommend to you.

Overall very pleased with how they handled my fur baby’s situation. They were able to get me in same day and Dr Estrada was amazing. If my sweet girl ever needs any other vet care in the future I will be requesting Dr Estrada :) !

I recently had to euthanize my cat. The vet was great! The staff was horrible! The staff had no compassion or care for the circumstance. The person that checked me in acted as if I was bothering her, I had to ask to be placed in a room rather than in my car! Then was placed in a room basically in the waiting room with little to no privacy. The gal that came to get payment before anything could be done was not professional and I had to wait for 45 minutes for a catheter to be placed prior to euthanasia. This place is not your local vet anymore it is all about $$$ and getting you out the door.

I had been coming to Monte Vista for 20 years No more. The new owners are not professional it’s become a bait and switch. No appointments are ever available. They’re always 1 week to 2 weeks out. They can see you right away with urgent care for $170.00 plus. Normal appt is $55.00 plus. Find someone else as I did.
