Repeat visitor here and it's a must eat at place for those visiting Tuscaloosa. Love the sweet tea, rack of ribs and banana pudding combo. Definitely will go again next time in town.

Excellent! Just what we were looking for an authentic BBQ restaurant and this place did not disappoint. The smell in the parking lot made our mouths water...delicious

I visited because I was recommended this as the best BBQ spot in all of Tuscaloosa. I think it was decent. Lots of food and quite filling but it was also quite salty so you gotta drink lots of water haha. Highly recommend the banana pudding!!!

Great food and service! I ordered a half slab of ribs, cole slaw, and banana pudding. Ribs were juicy and tender with a tasty vinegar based sauce. Usually coleslaw in these places is more of an afterthought, but this was really good coleslaw. The banana pudding was different from what I expected. It was more like a banana bread pudding. It was very good and a nice change from the usual wafer banana pudding. Portions were generous and the price reasonable. But I still don’t understand why barbecue places, whether they’re in Alabama or Texas, serve slices of white bread with the meal. I never eat it because I don’t like white bread. Is this a tradition that came from when people used the bread to keep their fingers clean? This curious traveling Yankee wants to know.

I 1st ate here over 20 years ago when the only thing they served was ribs. Loved it then and I loved it today. This is the original location. It is full ofull of character and delicious smells. When you sit down you will be handed a basket of white bread and barbecue sauce as an appetizer. If it's your 1st time you gotta get the ribs. That's what put them on the map. Good stuff I'll definitely be back :)

We've eaten at other Dreamland locations but this OG spot actually had the best ribs of any other location! Service was perfect. Fun, too, to seek out this location away from the beaten path of Tuscaloosa.

Original Dreamland BBQ location and it's very good. Their ribs, sausage, chicken and side's and deserts are delicious. Enjoyed the food and the old school decor and friendly staff. Will be eating here more often.

Ordered way too much food for one person, but my Momma always told me my eyes were bigger than my stomach. Knowing that, I ordered too much but it made for great leftovers the next day. Ribs are out of this world. Chopped pork sandwich I could eat for any meal if the day, so tender. Great ambiance with all of the Bama stuff. It’s not a restaurant, it’s a destination if you are In Tuscaloosa.

On a little road trip with my girlfriend and wanted some BBQ. I had went to the ones in Mobile Alabama but didn't know of this one here. Food was great, sauce could use a little bit of improving. The selection of items on menu are not there as the other one. But overall I was full of good food.

What a great place!! Such friendly service, great atmosphere and new friends.. Visiting from out of town as the opposing team, the people could not have been more inviting. Our party of 6 got split up, so we sat next to a couple other groups while we were there and they were all SO nice. And the BBQ is the best I've ever had, tender fall off the bone.. So simple but SO good. And the sauce was perfect. Don't forget to save room for the chocolate or banana pudding, it's worth it. I don't know what to rate here, Alabama or just the restaurant. Five stars to both!!

We were in town to go to a haunted house for Halloween and decided to stop by here for barbecue on the way. I’m so glad we did! I hadn’t eaten here in a while, and I’d forgotten how good it is! My boyfriend had the ribs, and I had a pulled pork sandwich. Definitely as good as I’d remembered! And I love that they bring you bread and barbecue sauce for an appetizer! So good!!!

So, I joined 3 other men on an all day roundtrip from Atlanta to this Dreamland BBQ location. It’s been a tradition for our ring leader and the experience did not disappoint. BBQ style varies greatly across the southeast, so I went in with no expectation. It was simple and simply delicious. Do you want a half slab? Um, yes! What’s your side? Potato Salad, Mac & Cheese, etc rang out from across the table. Minutes later, it was like a scene from the Flintstones where giant plates of meat descend on the table. Carnivores we are! I heard no discussion - just gnashing of teeth and grunts of delight. Enjoy the experience. Bring your appetite!

If you are a bbq fan, you have to stop here for the original experience. The experience is exceptional, with no fancy frills that you get in a new joint. The servers are friendly and helpful. The ribs were juicy, meaty and tasty. Next time I’ll try the sandwich and try to save room for banana pudding.

Our must have meal when in Tuscaloosa! Nothing better than a slab of ribs, side of Mac-n-cheese, and then some banana pudding for dessert!!

If you are Looking for that backyard barbecue field with that old-fashioned Hickory pet flavor came to the right place. This will be the second smokehouse we tried in Alabama and the only one worth mentioning. That's it. Remember this business has been in it's place for 75 years is providing a great atmosphere amazing Hickory smoked food. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because I cant do a 4.5 stars. Slight deduction for restraunt condition it is an old building that could use a few updates. When you find finding down the back road and pull up you will know the place cause of the hickory smell coming out of it. Worth the adventure and with there very well made limited menu I knew it was bound to be a dream come true. We had the large legendary pulled pork sandwich which was absolutely full of the richest Hickory smoked flavor and there famous vinegar based sauce! We also got the potato salad which was everything it was claimed to be and just like grandma used to make. We also had the smoked sausage and there Mac and Cheese which was rich and creamy and amazing. All in all I'd absolutely return and would have to hands down try there ribs. Which if I'm being honest is what everyone else was eating!

I was so excited to try this place and am super sad to be writing a “meh” review. I ordered a 1/2 slab of ribs and sides of coleslaw and beans. The ribs were really tough, to the point where I didn’t eat them, they just weren’t good. The beans and coleslaw were good though, and the folks who work there were nice.

Dreamland BBQ is a Tuscaloosa institution, and for good reason. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, the sauce is tangy and smoky, and the sides are classic comfort food. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and the service is friendly and efficient. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Dreamland BBQ is a must-visit for any fan of barbecue. I've been to Dreamland BBQ many times, and I've never been disappointed. The ribs are always cooked perfectly, and the sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. I also love the sides, especially the mac and cheese and the baked beans. If you're looking for a great meal in Tuscaloosa, I highly recommend Dreamland BBQ. It's a classic for a reason. Here are some of the things that I liked about Dreamland BBQ: The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender and smoky. The sauce is tangy and smoky. The sides are classic comfort food. This bbq shack is a little off the beaten path, but the food and service was amazing. BBQ ribs were worth every penny, with a tangy sauce that had a little kick. Sweet tea was just as dreamy.

The ribs were good, I also had the potato salad, which was okay also. The chocolate dream dessert was the best item I had and would recommend saving room for it. The wait on the food was not bad at all, and the atmosphere was that of a place trying to hold on to the past, but it seemed a little dirty and claustrophobic to me. If you would like to experience an iconic eatery and can overlook this, then it's worth a try.

Great food, super nice staff. Definitely a place you gotta visit if you take a trip to Tuscaloosa. It's a little out of the way, but totally worth it! Ribs fall off the bone, beans are just right! Mac and cheese, oh my!
