This is a mandatory visit for anyone feeling sorry for themselves or believes they didn’t get a fair shake in life. What this individual was able to overcome is awe inspiring. You will leave with a new perspective on her life and your own!

Very interesting and peaceful place. The people who work here are so nice and informative. They often will give a “tour” which is basically a talk introducing you to the site and what there is to see. Overall, a very nice stop and worth the visit if you’re in the area.

All road trips are different now due to COVID-19. Ivy Green is a lovely place to visit, but because of social distancing the gift shop was closed and looking at the rooms in the house was a little awkward. The tour guide was amazing, though. She was knowledgeable and very personable. Masks are required here by visitors and staff. The mask that the tour guide wore did not inhibit her speaking voice and we were able to hear everything she said.

I've always been fascinated by Helen Keller's story. When I learned I would be close to her birthplace, I had to go! The grounds are beautiful. The tour guides were very knowledgeable. After providing some information regarding the home and a couple rooms downstairs, you are able to explore upstairs and outside on your own. They have a few fun things available for purchase. In June, The Miracle Worker is performed on the grounds. Overall, the tour was very informative.

Wonderfully serene and peaceful space. Whether it looked this way when Keller was born, they have incorporated a number of features such as presents from Lions Clubs from across the world that magnify the impact she has across the world. There is a fee for admission into the home but no fee to walk the grounds.

I took my 12 yr old granddaughter here on vacation from Chicago. We both LOVED it! Helen Keller was an amazing woman who accomplished more than I knew! But she couldn’t have done it without Anne Sullivan! Her home in Tuscumbia is a true American treasure!! I asked my granddaughter how she liked it and she said it was her favorite part of our trip!

Such a humble beginning for a world renowned woman! Be sure to take in all of the grounds and listen to the docent. She was a wealth of knowledge! I wish there had been a souvenir of getting your name done in braille.

Historic building and land. It is neat to see first hand a part of history, especially the water well. Granted they house would have been different when Helen was there (no electrical, etc) but the idea and basics are the same. Worth visiting to explore, learn a bit and help preserve history.

Helen Keller is one of the most inspiring women in history, and her birthplace is certainly worth a visit. Her story comes to life at her childhood home. The home is furnished and stocked with authentic pieces originally belonging to Helen and her family. A museum room contains a vast array of intriguing artifacts: letters, books, photographs, etc. In addition, the tour hostess provides a richly detailed history of Helen's experiences in the home. The pinnacle moment is going out to the yard to see the famous water pump.

Let me just start by saying the little lady that gave us our tour was absolutely AMAZING! She was knowledgeable and her stories were so sweet to hear this is one of the absolute best tours I've taken in years and for the price I'd definitely recommend taking it. It only takes about 30 minutes and the history is well worth that.

Helen Keller’s Birthplace is such a beautiful place. You can walk around the sidewalk path around the outside and there are some monuments and things you can look at. There are signs that tell you that admission is charged beyond that point like if you walk through the little gate. It is a BEAUTIFUL yard and I highly recommend at least riding by to take a picture if you are in the area, which is what we did. It was such a nice place!!

The tour was so informative and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. She kept the attention of my 8 and 10 year old. I’ve always known who Hellen Keller was but I left here with a whole new respect for her. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area.

Very inspiring tour, they were very social distancing aware . She had small tour groups at a time and we spread out wore mask. My mother in all her years has wanted to visit the property. She is 72 and enjoyed it very much it is handicap accessible as well.

Wonderful museum for a wonderful woman. You can walk around the grounds for free, but the cost is very reasonable to go in the house and get the whole tour.

It’s exactly what you would expect. But I have to say I stumbled upon it when I was looking for the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. I had no idea Helen Keller was even from Alabama nor that her father was a captain in the confederate army.
