I was referred to Dr Cambridge when I received the devastating news my Lucky Bear had a mast cell tumor. News I wish upon no one. Not knowing anyone at VSS, everyone we encountered was not only compassionate and knowledgeable, they were genuinely happy to answer all of my questions. I didn’t feel rushed and no one made feel like the crazy dog mama that I am. The day of Lucky’s surgery I was an utter mess. Dr Cambridge called from the operating room letting me know what he saw and I received a text letting me know once surgery had began. When surgery was over I received a phone call and shortly after a call from Dr. Cambridge. That evening they sent me a text and an update with how Lucky was doing. Through the whole process knowing how Lucky was doing every step of the way helped reassure me. Dr. Cambridge and his staff have provided by far the best medical care I've ever had for one of my fur babies. I truly feel Dr. Cambridge saved my dog's life and I'll be forever be grateful!

My 4 month old puppy fractured her ankle and required surgery. I knew exactly where to take her, as Dr. Sebestyn had done surgery on my other dog years ago. This was a traumatic situation, so knowing she was in good hands helped greatly. The expertise, knowledge, and compassion of this staff is excellent. I trust them and highly recommend them to anyone with surgical needs for their pets.

Great service overall. Different specialties on site. Location is ideal for all in one services with nearby pet emergency, food, eye care, etc. Long wait times 2-4hrs or more depending on services being provided. I do believe it is because they provide undevided attention to each pet and owner with unrestricted time. I do prefer the thorough work over quicker time.

I was recommended to this surgical hospital and Dr Cambridge by someone I know to address a problem with my dogs leg. It was determined he needed ACL surgery. From the moment I made an appointment for a diagnosis and consultation to aftercare from the surgery, I have been extremely pleased with every aspect of this hospital. The front desk answers the phone immediately and responds to the needs reaching out to the correct people. Appointments are always on time without waiting. Every person I have encountered has been pleasant and caring. I would highly recommend.

My dog needed a surgery to remove cancer and every appointment/interaction with staff that we had was incredible. Dr. Sebestyan and the Nurses who took care of my dog were so attentive and communicative every step of the way. I was floored by the incredible care that was provided to my pet. All my questions were answered, often before I could even ask the question, and I never felt like the providers had to rush off to do something else. I have never had such incredible care provided at a vet, I would 100% recommend Veterinary Surgical Specialists to everyone I know with a pet!

After a month of tests and two different vet opinions, I was referred to this amazing veterinarian. We initially were supposed to get my Argentinian Dogo's salivary gland removed, but Dr. Keeshen took the time to do a live culture test which then showed that there was three different bacterias growing that could be treated with a specific round of antibiotics. This is the best vet I have seen in 20 years. Thank you for helping me not do surgery on my puppy.

I was referred to Dr. Cambridge because my pup had several injuries to his leg. I was able to get in, and get scheduled for surgery very quickly. Dr. Cambridge is very knowledgeable and the staff has been kind, upbeat, and friendly which helps pet parents deal with injuries and surgeries. They are surprisingly quick and efficient which helps when you travel from afar (60+ minutes for me), or don't have hours to sit and wait for diagnostics to be completed. It has been a very pleasant experience.

We had a consultation today for our Yorkie with Dr.Cambridge. He was amazing, very thoughtful and took the time to explain every detail. And most importantly he didn’t try to push us to do unnecessary tests without any serious need. We thank god for having such doctors in our lives. Hadil & Sam

I am so grateful to everyone at VCC OC. Dr. Cambridge literally saved Violette's life by removing cancer we didn't even know she had - we just heard from the oncologist today that she is cancer free. I cannot thank him enough. Everyone we interacted with at VSS OC was kind, but beyond that instilled in me confidence that my baby was receiving the best care possible. I also loved that I could text 24/7 for updates while she was there and with questions and concerns once I had her home. I also felt very strongly through the entire process that everyone cared very deeply about the well being and health of my girl. I am at a loss as to how anything could be improved. We drove from LA, so every trip was 4-5 hours round trip with traffic and it was worth it. The level of care provided by everyone and Dr. Cambridge's skill make VSS OC remarkable and are why I would recommend them to anyone I know that needs dog surgery.

Dr Sebestyen is the best. He did knee surgery on both knees of our maltipoo. With his care and expertise, our dog is now capable of walking and playing pain-free and is no longer afraid of going to the vet.

We had a great experience here - the vets are all specialists and the staff are all first class and truly care for the animals here. They communicate constantly during the surgery and recovery process and send you home with very detailed instructions. I also appreciate that there are staff on duty 24 hours so your pet is not left alone following their procedure. The location is quite convenient as well for most of Orange County. Yes, they are kind of expensive, but so is everyone who does surgeries for pets in So. Cal and this group does such a great job that you know you are getting good value for the cost. I also appreciated that all costs were folded in together (bloodwork/meds/etc) so there really were not any "hidden" charges for us.

The office staff and doctor were kind and understanding from the onset of our dog's emergency until he was released from care. We were frantic trying to find a place who could take our dog for an urgent surgery and they were calm throughout the process. While in their office I could hear them on the phone with other customers who were all treated with kindness, although I'm sure there were some who were very demanding. The staff always made us feel welcome and valued.

I had a great experience bringing my cat here for an emergency procedure which saved her life. It was discovered she had a complete blockage of her small intestine around noon of the day, my oncologist contacted VSS and they were able to take her in for surgery that very evening. From beginning to end and to every detail, VSS took care of my cat and made the process as easy as possible during such a difficult time. Their communication level was amazing and were reachable 24/7 if I had any concerns post surgery. My cat is thriving now and has exceeded my expectations of her recovery in just a short time.

The care given to our dog and communication from your team was beyond our expectations! We did a TPLO surgery on our golden retriever (left side) last year at another facility. She got her right side messed up this year and we came to VSA through a referral from our vet. The care , the follow up, and communication was incredible. My dog did much better this time even though she had an added meniscus tear on top of the TPLO repair. Dr. Sebestyen was amazing and so were the staff!

I took my cat in when she was in distress. It turns out she suffered a stroke. I was scared for her, and it hurt to see her the way she was. Sadly, she passed while we were there. While nothing can take away the pain of losing my furbaby, Dr. Sabrina and family took such great care of her. They treated her with so much love. It gave me a huge measure of comfort, knowing she was in the best hands. Thank you all so much for treating her so well in her final moments. ❤️

I had an amazing experience at Veterinary Surgical Specialists. My 11 year old Labrador had several growths she needed to have removed. They were able to get her in quickly for a consultation and on the surgical schedule. They were even able to address two additional areas of concern my vet identified after the consult. The techs and Dr. Sebestyen were all incredibly kind and professional, kept me updated about her status, and followed up after her surgery. It's always reassuring to find such a caring place to take care of your pets, especially as they get older. I recommend them highly.

Dr Sebestyen performed an extremely complicated Chylothorax surgery on our Afghan Hound Apollo and the outcome was a perfect success. He is an incredibly skilled surgeon. The entire Hospital is run extremely well and all the supporting staff members are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. The five times we were there from the initial consult to the final aftercare visit, we saw a lot of Dogs coming and going which means many dogs owners are using this surgery center.

VSS is top notch care !! We took our Frenchie to Dr. Sébestyen for nasal airway surgery and our pup can now breathe normally for the first time. Dr Sébestyen took his time explaining the procedure, what to expect and what to look for at home. VSS staff kept us informed when surgey was to start and Dr. Sébestyen called when surgery was completed. I highly recommend VSS for your furbaby.

VSS is a great place to bring your pet for big surgeries. My dog had a large mass growing in her thoracic cavity and through her ribs. This large surgery required the doctor to not only remove the mass, but also 5 of her ribs where the mass had grown through and around the ribs and caused damage. I was very nervous about this surgery, but the doctor and staff took such amazing care of my dog, both during the surgery and in all of the follow-up appointments. The patience and care in explaining exactly what was going to happen and what to expect both during and after the surgery was truly wonderful and helped to make the whole process much easier. All of my questions were answered, and information was given so that I could make informed decisions. I am very grateful to VSS for the great care they gave to my dog!

I have had the best experience with VSS. They fixed my doggy’s leg/knee…actually corrected a surgery that was previously done. I wish I had came to vss first or sooner but glad they were able to correct the problem. Glad to see my dog walking on 4s again. Professionalism and correcting a botched surgery is what I got from them. They also took great covid precautions. Can come across quick and insensitive but I understood. Nurses were nice and explained things. Dr. Craig at consultation was confident she could correct the surgery. Told me the hardware from previous surgery were too tight making leg unusable. She gave me a call after the surgery. I saw a difference immediately in the leg. Long recovery ahead but I see the progress. my biggest problem is slowing the dog down. Lol Also Loved they kept my dog overnight for observation and a sent pic (added). Previous surgery they sent her home same day..and that night was so stressful watching her. Great experience overall.

Everyone was very nice and knowledgeable. I felt good about taking my dog there and comfortable about him having to stay the night after his surgery. The doctors and techs were awesome and took the time to explain everything about my dogs surgery. I would recommend this place to everyone.

😠 So many great reviews yet the experiences that I've had in regards to appointments and general care of my pet have been poor. I do not recommend for the sake of your own sanity because Gilbert the office manager has been my worst experience. The vets that have taken care of her have been good. Other...

👍👍 Where should I start at. My 15 year old pitbull Zeus out of no where collapsed on me and began heavy panting and gasping for air. I had to give my dog mouth to mouth and rushed him to his regular vet office which is a hospital also. He was foaming out the mouth with his tongue out and to me I though...

😠 Unfortunately the quality of customer service has gone down here. The clinic owner is now the only vet on staff.
