Visited on Sunday, November 7, 2021. We waited 20 minutes to get seated. Our server was very attentive. The sausage was so juicy- literally the best sausage I've had.

I was visiting family and we dined here. Great family restaurant with lots of options. I had the wild turkey sandwich which is turkey avocado and alfalfa sprouts on squaw bread. It was just what I've been looking for. My family enjoyed the pizza, Chicken Alfredo, Burgers mahi mahi wrap. Would recommend.

My wife and I came for breakfast. A cute place. I noticed 28 beers posted on the wall... so a return for lunch will be needed. I had the breakfast tacos which were good. Hashbrowns a little undercooked but based on the reviews maybe just a one-off. My wife had the cinnamon swirl French toast which was great. Service was friendly!

Great people! For me, the breakfast burrito with chorizo wasn't the best. First time I didn't finish my food. My water had a bug in it but it happens often. The people there are really nice.

Used to be the country kitchen...which was horrible food, good redence. Friendly Cafe has very tasty food...only had the breakfast so far. Definitely worth giving it a try.

Great breakfast & lunch spot. Plenty of parking. Their chicken salad sandwich on squaw is a show stopper. And bacon, avocado and Swiss and you can thank me later.

Breakfast tacos are the worst tacos I've ever had! Chorizo does not have a lot of taste but that's not the worst, they are supposed to have pico de gallo but I only counted 6 pieces of maybe 1/2 inch big tomato pieces on one taco and 4 on the other with very little onions, that's not pico de gallo! And MOST IMPORTANT, Chef Mike(microwave) seems to be on the clock, YOU DO NOT microwave tortillas! they lose the integrity of holding the stuffed ingredients and they break while eating, you need a hot surface for this... Additional tip, there are two sides of the tortilla, the soft side holds the ingredients... I had to use a fork to eat tacos, you do not eat tacos with forks, what kind of negligence is this? Either remove it of the menu or fix it. The second taco held better together but got cold quick and tortilla felt soggy.

Love it! We needed a place to do some late night studying and the owner was so kind and supportive. The great food fuelled us and our studying. We already have plans to come back tomorrow!

They’ve always been good for breakfast and lunch but they recently opened for dinner. Good food, good value. I suggest you check them out. Not too many places opened until 10pm. And they have pizza oven so perfect for adults or kids sports team after league games. Take out delivery is only $0.99 !!!!!

Breakfast take-out is definitely is a hit or miss. This place was a HIT! Customer service- I ordered online so that was easy! They called to clarify our order. We had forgotten to add what kind of toast we wanted. I was delighted with the fact that that showed this place is on top of it and making sure everything is good with our order. When we opened our food at home, to our surprise they forgot to include the items they called to clarify lol I didn't call or anything, to be honest we ordered plenty of food so it was okay. It happens. Just always check your order people. Food- the food was tasty. I got a Florentine scramble and I loved it !! Tomato, spinach, onions, bacon, cheese were all balanced and got a little of everything in every bite. I give it a 8.5 (scale 1-10)The rest of the crew got the Two Eggs Anyway and they all gave it a 7 from a scale 1-10. The pancakes were our FAVE! They are so buttery, soft, and the density was that of a pancake (some pancakes are more like cakes) . So gooooodd!!!!! We will definitely try this place again when dine in is allowed! The inside looks clean and comfortable so we will try the dine-in experience soon. *REMEMBER: businesses are trying their best. Yes, they forgot toast, no big deal. Just think and put yourself in their shoes. They must be so busy and the struggle must be real. Be kind, be patient and support local business *

Friends Cafe is a great local spot for breakfast, and lunch. I’ve been here for breakfast many times and I’ve always had a fantastic meal. I do need to come back for lunch because their lunch menu looks great and they have a nice beer menu. Highly recommended!

I’ve come to this café for breakfast, brunch, and lunch on occasion in the past but I recently saw that they expanded their hours (until 10PM) recently, so I’ve been there three times now for dinner. Someone sabotaged their ground sign outside, cutting out the “Dinner” part, but they are indeed open for dinner. Their menu is much-expanded, and everything I’ve tried has been fantastic: Greek salad, chili (which is also great on the tater tots), soups, cappellini (like angel hair) pasta with meat sauce (great flavor), tortellini (again with the great meat sauce), chicken parmigiana, and an amazing chicken pesto pizza. (They said they have some kind of special cheese along with their homemade dough and sauces.) The portions and prices are very reasonable. They also have at least 20 desserts, some of which the owner said are imported from Italy. The prices are decent enough to be able to try a few of them and share them with the group.

My CA client purchasing in AZ wanted to try this little spot. What a great find! Our server was so helpful and sweet. Wish to give five stars but due to terrible quality bacon, 80% fat, very thin & greasy =four stars. But it’s not very often a cook knows how to make homemade buttermilk pancakes without over stirring batter. A+! Eggs were cooked perfectly, excellent hash browns as well. Very open restaurant. Might want to have restrooms cleaned at least once a day. Looked like it’s been over a month since clean!

Excellent food using many family recipes. Try their pasta dishes, you wont be disappointed. Met the 2 brothers who own the restaurant. We had excellent service for dinner. They recently expanded from breakfast and lunch to now serving dinner. Please support small businesses and try them for dinner.

I will make Friends Cafe a regular stop! I LOVED the food here. I got the chicken penne alla vodka & it was so delicious and the garlic bread was amazing. The pancakes were the original reason I stopped by (& they were amazing too) but I can’t wait to try more food here :) I also loved the chill vibes and relaxed atmosphere. I will tell EVERYONE I know to come here!!

My bf found this restaurant on maps while searching for something to eat. At first, we were confused because maps took us to a Jack in the Box, but I figured it might be located near the shopping center behind the Jack in the Box. I was worried because when we got there it was completely empty, but the food turned out to be amazing. The staff was so attentive and helpful from the start. I ended up having the spaghetti in meat sauce, which came with mini garlic bread on the side, and my boyfriend the French dip. The onion rings that came with the sandwich were freshly made and big, and the ranch was homemade. I was concerned about my spaghetti because the sauce didn't look red, but it was amazing. It was as good as the one from the Old Spaghetti Factory less the cost! I highly recommend this place for its delicious food, affordability, customer service, and variety. Our tab came out to less than $35 for our large portions of food. We'll definitely be coming back.

Tried for the first time and not a good experience. My wife and I thought we would give it a try for breakfast. We ordered our food and it came out about 15-20 minutes later minus my pancakes. The waitress told me they would be right out. Well she told me that 2 more times and 15 minutes late still no pancakes. The third time she told me “well I guess that’s what happens when another waitress takes your food.” We finished our meal which wasn’t that great and still no pancakes.I told her we are done eating, and give me the bill. She then said well if you don’t want them I will give them to a lady sitting next to us. That’s what she did. No discount, no I’m so sorry, no let me get the manager. Just a oh well attitude. We won’t be back . I’ll stick with citrus café.

This place used to be fantastic but it has really gone downhill. The food isn't nearly as good as it used to be before covid and the wait is unbelievable. It takes forever to get a waitress at your table because as far as I could see there were only 2 for the whole restaurant. It also takes forever to get your food. I ordered a short stack that's it just pancakes and it took 15 minutes to get it.

Not impressed. Burger was dry. No sauce of any kind. Onions were like skins, instead of slices. Honestly, if I have to add Thousand Island, salt, and other things to make it taste like something resembling a burger, not a good burger at all. Ketchup bottle empty. And waitress did not come around often for being practically empty. Staff was nice, though. I would have rather not left a tip, but I felt obligated. Don't see myself coming back. Sorry, might sound harsh, but that was my experience.

This is a low key brunch spot that has a great menu and friendly staff. It gets a little busy on the weekends. So far I have been here several times and I have had a good experience every time. Every dish I’ve ordered has been delicious. I would definitely recommend.

I found this place when me and a buddy of mine were trying look for a breakfast place on a Sunday in the Irvine area. This was the third place we traveled to, and fortunately, the wait wasn't as long as the previous two places, so we decided to eat here. The interior is pretty roomy, and could probably accommodate more seating if it was planned a little differently. The menu selection is wide, but is nothing special or out of the ordinary, and comprised common breakfast items (not that this is a negative aspect of the place). I decided to try their freshly squeezed orange juice, and the tuna sandwich, while my friend tried the Denver omelette with hash browns and pancakes, and coffee. Their portions are large, and certainly justifies the price. The quality of the food is good, however, the service could definitely be quicker, in my opinion. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area.

Not sure what's going on with friends cafe, but it's headed in the wrong direction. The recent poor reviews are pretty accurate. I've been here a ton of times before but today was just bad. The servers today (12/28) where busy but not attentive to OUR table. Three other tables were seated after us and each were a bigger party than ours (4 people)....the server (chubby white woman with glasses) came by twice to say "give me 1 minute, I'll be with you shortly" and 20 minutes later she still needed a "minute". The hostess girl came by to ask for the server what we wanted to drink but 5 minutes passed and still nothing. Since 25 minutes had passed, we stood up, and walked out to the Breakfast/Lunch spot down the street on Irvine Blvd and Tustin Ave called COUNTRY CAFE (2321 E 4th St suite A, Santa Ana, CA 92705). Here, the waitress took our order within 5 minutes and she was busy too. Jeff (owner) - If you're reading this I hope things change because today I experienced the same poor server service as the recent reviews. Not sure if it's your presence that causes your servers to be better when you're there but when you're not there things don't go well. My visit was 12/28 around 11:30AM in case you need to give your servers a wake up call.

Food 5/5 - only “downside” which isn’t a big deal, avoid the lemonade (countrytime?), otherwise food was really good. Service 5/5 - Tracy was really nice 👍🏻 Would definitely return, we were just driving by for brunch. Definitely should visit.
