What an incredible place! We visited here as a day trip from San Cristobal and it was truly stunning. We visited 2 viewpoints first and then into the canyon itself. The boat tour was 2 hours and stunning for every part of it. The boat operators don't speak English but their Spanish is very clear so you can pick up most of what they say even if you only have a little Spanish. We saw 6 crocodiles, some monkeys, an iguana and so many birds, including pelicans. I saw previous reviews commented on the rubbish floating in the river - we learned that this is due to the heavy rainfall and they are working hard to clear this. We had a fantastic day here and very highly recommend it.

Beautiful place. You can take a tour for 2 hours on the boat for 200 Pesos. The tour is worth it. Try to take a raincoat with you and the most important is try to negotiate the price because every person gives me different price.

Beautiful mountains that reach a height of over 1000 meters. There are a total of 5 Miradores, all are nice but the most beautiful was definitely Los Chiapa (beware in May 2021, due to the covid, the views were open only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday). We also took a boat trip to the bottom of the canyon from Chiapa de Corzo.

I went here with a tour, and of course did the trip in the boat through the canyon. First impressions were a bit odd as you go to their shop on land and the first stop was with the boat to their "boat shop" were you can buy water or beer. But despite that, the tour was super cool and impressive. The guide was very informative and explained a lot of details about the canyon and the surroundings. We spotted some 🐊 and he also spotted a yellow iguana in a tree, what shows his experience as you wouldn't have seen it without experience 😂 Can recommend the tour to anybody, as it was a very nice experience.

Amazing! We had a day trip with stops at the viewpoints in the morning and a boat trip in the first hours of the afternoon! We had quite luck as we managed to see both crocodiles and monkey! One star less only for the huge amount of rubbish floating in the canyon

The canyon would be beautiful if there were not so much trash. It's a shame. I know they pull out 5000 tons of trash every year, but it's not enough. They should address the real problem and develop an efficient trash collection system in the city of Tuxtla and the surrounding villages. They make a lot of money from the hundreds or thousands of tourists that enter every day. Better charge more and use the money for environmental clean up. Maybe we should just boycott the tour until they clean it up. Talking about the tour: We had to wait over an hour to get the boat filled up, because there are so many competing tour companies. The tour was in Spanish only, which I have no problem with. But the bossy and unfriendly tour guide was just monotonously talking his lines with no motivation at all. I would not do it again.

Canyon is very nice, and it’s a great change to see a crocodile and birds. But take a warm clothes and eyeglasses with you, even if it’s +30 degree, it can be cold because of the wind (when you are on the speed boat it’s super windy 😄) 🙌🏻

Lovely boat cruise down the river. Saw cross and monkeys, though the monkey had a tracking device on its neck so unsure if they are all tracked. It would be 5 stars but the water is covered in TONS of plastic trash, which is sad. If they don't make efforts to clean the garbage, tourism will likely die down.

(Translated by Google) This canyon is a true wonder of nature, with a dreamlike landscape you will enjoy the entire tour either by boat or from its multiple viewpoints, it is a must when you visit the state of Chiapas. In addition to the canyon in the town where you start the trip, it is called Chapa de Corso, it is a beautiful town where you will find many crafts, friendly people and a great gastronomic variety such as pozol, cochito and a great variety of typical dishes from southern Mexico.

(Translated by Google) An incredible place cinema percent recommended and almost obligatory to visit in a visit to Chiapas since it is an incredible place and an experience almost without something similar since being able to go by boat and to the sides those stone walls of almost a kilometer high is something unimaginable, I recommend wearing sunscreen and a cap since the sun is shining directly on you and thus does not let you see things very well, for obvious reasons not to take your hands out of the boat to touch the water or something since as everyone knows they are waters in which there are crocodiles and more animals although no attack has ever been recorded but better to be safe, in my case I stayed in San Cristóbal de las Casas and looked for a place that offered tours which left over should only be put on maps so that appear to you and it cost me about 500 per person, they picked me up the next morning at my hotel, they took us to the place was the tour of the sinkhole canyon and apart from the tour of the viewpoints from Tuxtla, a A quick return through Chiapa de Corzo and likewise the return to my hotel, the only thing that I did not like so much was the fact that at the end of the route the people on the boats almost demand that you give them a tip and they want to sell you things in the boat doing so that later there may be garbage in the water, but from then on the tour is highly recommended (Original) Un lugar increíble cine porciento recomendable y casi obligado de visitar en una visita a Chiapas ya que es un lugar increíble y una experiencia casi sin algo parecido ya que el poder ir en lancha y a los lados esas paredes de piedra de casi un kilómetro de altura es algo inimaginable, yo recomiendo llevar bloqueador y gorra ya que el sol te da directamente y así no te deja ver muy bien las cosas, por obvias razones no sacar las manos de la lancha para tocas el agua o algo ya que como todos lo saben son aguas en las cuales hay cocodrilos y de más animales aunque nunca se ha registrado ningún ataque pero mejor prevenir, en mi caso me alojé en San Cristóbal de las Casas y busqué un lugar que ofreciera tours los cuales sobran solo se debe poner en maps para que te aparezcan y me costo como 500 por persona, pasaron por mi en la mañana del siguiente día a mi hotel, nos llevaron hasta al lugar fue el recorrido por el cañón del sumidero y aparte el recorrido por los miradores desde Tuxtla, una vuelta rápida por Chiapa de Corzo y así mismo el regreso hasta mi hotel, lo único que no me agrado tanto fue el echo que al final del recorrido los de las lanchas casi te exigen que se les dé propina y te quieren vender cosas en la lancha haciendo así que después pueda haber basura en el agua, pero de ahí en más muy recomendable el tour

Beautiful place! It is worth visiting but i would strongly advise a tour that involves a boat tour plus going to the view points on top! Then you have a complete image of the Canyon El Sumidero. Don’t be surprised of the rubbish inside the river though.

Amazing visit, we took a tour from San Cristobal de las Casas. It was 380 pesos for 2 miradors and the boat trip. Leaving San Cristobal at 8:45 and returning at 5pm. It was amazing. Actually surreal to be honest, felt like being in Jurassic Park or something. Fully recommend that tour and that visit.

A Mexican friend of mine recommended me it’s the best tourist attraction in Mexico and so I visited with colleagues. We saw three wild crocodiles. The cliff look like a Christmas tree was fantastic with plenty of negative ions.

A very nice and natural tour in the river. Great for photography. I do admit there is a point where is a lot of trash, however there is a group that cleans the canyon daily except for Sundays. You can also go up to special points in the mountains which giv3 amazing views.
