We were tourists that didn't know any better and decided to drive here, thinking this was the entrance to the park but we were mistaken. Look at the pictures I uploaded and you'll see the different entrances to the park such as north and west. It was only about a ten minutes drive further to reach the entrance. You pay an entrance fee and drive in, enjoying the beauty of Joshua tree. I hope this review helps future tourists drive to the entrance and avoid making the same mistake we did! Good luck and enjoy!

Ammmmmaaazzziiiinnngggg. Just go. Heart rock, arch rock and skull rock are worth the hike. Early morning or sunset is most comfortable...

Friendly staff but on the smaller side but maybe we didn't go far enough in. Worth a visit!

The Ranger Staff here was wonderful. Since the map they hand out doesn't have enough space for everything you might want to know, they told us about it all, with pictures, and marked the best hiking areas on our map.

Went Saturday morning. Had a market going on with a variety of stands selling from souvenirs, vegetables and food trucks. We also visited the National Park headquarters. Nice displays with lot of information. A variety of souvenirs. I still believe the headquarters should have stayed on the main entrance road instead of no where near it!!!

Wish more people would research this place ahead of time. The park ranger was reading negative reviews about the place and believes people come and get disappointed. Just be mindful it’s different from other national parks, but the bright side is close to LA and other popular destinations out southwest.
