In these days of extra care and cleanliness due to Covid , this place is seriously lacking. We opened one of our "sealed" silverware napkins and it was nasty!! The waiter seemed unconcerned and didn't even bring us any more until our food came and I had to ask him for another set of silverware!! The window blinds next to our booth were coated with dust and had splatter stains on them! Don't think I want to eat food here!!!

My veteran father and I had breakfast here today for the first time. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Very generous portion sizes of both food and drinks. Also loved the musical selections😉

Ambiance okay, service soso. Waitress didn't come around for refills. filthy silverware. However she brought clean silverware after i asked her to, also I recommended they fire their dishwasher. Eggs Benedict were hard boiled eggs topped over deli ham, followed by overcooked potatoes. We cannot recommend this place at all.

Great restaurant to eat breakfast in Tyler. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Party of 8 was seated and served quickly. Portions are hearty and delicious. The sausages are by far the best I’ve had for breakfast.

First time here & I was seated right away when I walked in the door. I was asked if I wanted a booth or table & I said booth so she sat me at this cute two seater booth by the window, plus for me cause I like to people watch. My waitress was very attentive & polite, my food was hot & came out in very fast. I got the Louisiana skillet, without tilapia & got extra shrimp instead, it came with toast & eggs. It was very good, I will have to go there again.

We normally eat breakfast at The Diner, and it is always excellent. Today, we had the Chicken Fried Steak and was not disappointed. Sides were great, and the gravy served with the Chicken Fried Steak was the best I have had from a restaurant. Service from Reagan was excellent.

Spacious, comfortable, not too loud, polite & patient service. Kids meal serves a very small waffle is the only disappointment.

I love the green Chile omelette on your menu. Always a favorite! You were the first restaurant we came to when we moved to Tyler and have kept us coming back for more. The portions are just right, coffee is good, and we like your atmosphere.

Ok Eggs Benedict. Very salty. Hollandaise was lacking richness. Home fries bland. Biscuits were good. Service very good. Hubby said chicken fried steak was average.

Nice variety of breakfast & lunch menu items. Eggs-cellent Chicken & Waffles (with banana pudding). Omg!!! 😋 And they have a plug to charge your phone while you're waiting.

Tried this place for the first time. I've been wanting waffles, so when I saw they served Texas shaped, I just had to check them out! They have good food and drink options. I ordered a caramel Machiatto to drink, and they did not hold back on the caramel! So good. Their tenders are good. They tasted homemade! I'm not sure if they are or not, but I recommend them!

We have been here around 20 times, and the breakfast is pretty good. However, the food is not always good when delivered. We have a newborn so we need food delivered. The past few times, I've ordered the sausage biscuit with cheese, it either didn't have cheese, or the biscuit was so hard/overcooked that it was not worth eating. Other than that, the bacon and fruit cup are always great. It's one of the better fruit cups around town. The service was pretty good every time we had been inside. It can get very busy so we would find time to go when it wasn't very busy.

Best Brunch Ever! Came into Tyler for some shopping and decided to get some brunch. The Diner was the first to pull up on the Google search. Wait time at 10am was about 20 minutes. Wait staff was super friendly and attentive. Coffee was great! My family and I mostly got breakfast items and by the time our food came, everything was so good that we ended up sampling each other's plates. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Omelette - which is something I never knew I needed in my life! I would go out in a limb and say this was the best overall restaurant experience.

The food is fantastic! The best traditional breakfast food we’ve had in Tyler. The skillet potatoes are to die for. During peak times you definitely want to reserve a spot in line via their website. Otherwise you can find yourself waiting for 45+ minutes. We’ve place an online order once. The food was ready exactly when they said it would be and it actually tasted just as good as eating in the restaurant, which is rare.

I love the breakfast especially the pancake but when we came to our table it’s not yet cleaned. We need to asked for someone in there to clean it.

There is usually a little wait at The Diner, but if you put yourself on the waitlist on their website before going, it isn't too bad. Our server was Kaitlyn, and she was great. Our food was ready super-fast, and there was plenty of it. As always, it tasted wonderful! We will definitely be back!

I know, by above 4-star individual ranking why a 3-star total? read below the food review. the food was really good. they evidently have a cook that understands how to make scrambled eggs with cheese that is moist. the hash browns were cooked just like Mama used to make. My pancakes were light and moist. they bring out warm syrup with the pancakes, which was one of the best tasting syrups I have had in a long time. I should have asked the brand. my wife had an omelet which was cooked really well. good timing on removing from grill. because of the French toast, I ended up with half the omelet, which I did not mind at all. there was a really good amount of meat and vegetables in the omelet. the French toast according to my wife, was good as well. she ended up leaving slices of the three. the waitress was certainly an interesting young lady. when you speak to her she knows all of the right words to say but has none of the enthusiasm (I knew of no other word) you'd expect. "How are you?" I ask. "awesome" is what she said but her expression and tone reminded me of Ben Stein playing the teacher in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, who kept calling out "Bueller, Bueller." she was also dead-pan with "perfect" and "wonderful". One thing that was a real bummer was watching another waitress with a pony tail grab, pull on it, and then fling it up in the air while she was talking to some seated regulars. she did this three times! Restaurant = don't touch or play with hair in the middle of the restaurant! "how is you breakfast? what I took off stars... Cost/overcharged. My wife and I went for breakfast the other day, and our breakfast with tip ended up at $54. part of the reason is I did not dispute the check, which I should have done. the errors were the addition of 2 items in my wife's omelet, which she did not order that added 3.50 to the check. my wife did order a side of French toast and the girl brought her six slices, which she was charged a complete French toast breakfast, three slices of toast which rand 9.99. all she wanted was a side, not the full breakfast. once again, I did not dispute anything and even paid a tip on the extra costs as well. My lower back was really hurting, and I had no desire to bring up anything at this point. I just wanted to get out and get home. I mean, I was at an 8of10 by now. I just made the executive decision to pay it. again, the stars were removed as we were overcharged in the first place.

Seemed to take a bit for food to come out. Coffee was definitely not great as strong and bitter. The "Best in Texas" claim on their French toast was quite a stretch as would say they were barely average.

Occasionally I venture off and try new things. Happen to be in Tyler this morning. I decided to try out The Diner. From the cup of coffee to the entire breakfast all the way to the cinnamon rolls the food was awesome.. Dandreea was my waitress. She was attentive and sweet. The owner Alfredo even stopped by my table. It was a nice way to start my Sunday.

Kaitlyn served us today. She was friendly, yet professional and her attention to detail and impeccable customer service was everything! Level of service like hers is hard to come by these days. The food was okay, but honestly it’s the service that really makes a company shine! Give this girl a raise! She is truly an asset to the Diner. Thank you so much, Kaitlyn! We’ll be back and will be requesting you by name!

Great experience. Family owned breakfast and lunch spot. Parking may be a challenge on a busy day. Comfortable seating. Staff was polite. Our party of 2 was seated immediately on a Friday morning. 2 sided menu had plenty of options that caught our attention. I enjoyed a Louisiana style omelet with andoulle sausage and my wife had their standard Eggs Benedict. Food tasted fresh and it wasn't hard to clean out plates. Would recommend.
