A smallish theater roviding dance performances at a somewhat irregular interval. The performances tend to be a bit more artistic and innovative than the usual tourist fare. I thoroughly enjoyed it, the music as well as the dance and the explanation provided. The only thing was that the chairs are not that comforting. Entrance fee is on the high side, and should be lower especially having in mind that the theatre was only 20% filled which to me could not be so inspiring for the dancers and musicians

I can not speak highly enough of Semara Ratih as a company, and the family of Gung Anom and Ni Gusti Ayu, who run it. Over the past five years, I have been fortunate to take dance and music classes from Dipta, their son, as well as attend dozens of music and dance performances. Their weekly show is my favorite in Bali, full of top-notch musicianship, and powerful dancing. They have also been gracious hosts each time that I have rented rooms in their compound, making me feel so much like part of the family, that we have remained dear friends for years since. If you have an interest in Balinese arts and culture, please give them a visit, and enjoy!

An exceptionally professional and outstanding performance, seamlessly blending traditional and contemporary gamelan with Balinese dances. The impassioned troupe leader's commitment to the art is evident, while the gamelan players showcase remarkable skill and deliver a top-tier performance. I had the good luck to witness a multi-generational experience, with the troupe leader, his son, and his grandson on stage. The costumes and props are fantastic, and the newly created works exhibit creativity with a touch of "jazz." A must-see offering exceptional value for the price, truly on a world-class level. I was moved by the troupe's dedication to preserving and sharing this art and culture, while training the next generation.

I went to see it because the guide book said it was highly rated. It is held at a temple just off the main street in Ubud. I got my ticket at the tourist information counter diagonally across from the Royal Palace around 6:30. The unique dance and sharp and powerful music were both wonderful and unforgettable. I would like to see it again if I have a chance. My friend, who was so moved by watching it with me, later went to see the gamelan at the Royal Palace and said that the dance, music, and performance were better.

Magical, what a combination of all the senses with dancing, music and performances. Best recommendation when in Ubud on a Saturday.

    バリを感じました!とても良かったです。モンキーダンス的な要素もあって、とても満足です。中心からちょびっと離れたローカルな場所も良かったのです。ただし、トイレもローカルなので、来る前に必ずトイレ済ました方がいいです。
