We traveled around Indonesia for 5 weeks, and The Shala was the highlight of our stay. There are tons and tons of beautiful hidden hotels around Ubud, The Shala is one of the most beautiful we have visited. Especially that Yoga was a major part of our trip. Jero was such a great host and assisted us with everything. The food and breakfast is so rich and generous. Coffee available 24/7 and it's so tasty. The rooms are very comfortable, with A/C available. We reserved the bungalows, which were on one side of the complex. A 5 minute walk around the venue, and you find yourself in the middle of the rice fields. Been to many hotels in my life, this is one of the best places we stayed in. Super recommended!! Namaste

I spent 6 days at the hotel and is very well located. The hotel facilities are also pretty good. The spa therapists are kind and the price is reasonable. The restaurant is simply but amazing and healthy food (vegan and veg options). I think the thing that I miss was to have more yoga classes since the hotel is a yoga retreat doesn’t have a lot of classes. Also another thing that could be deal breaker is the walking that you could make from reception to the hotel rooms/main restaurante (sound 7 min). However, for that case, I’d recommend the bangalos.

Beautiful property and rooms. Villa room with rice fields view was gorgeous and serene. Only feedback is that they need to update their misquote nets which have holes (I requested that my first jet be changed, but the second one had holes too). This is important because if you leave the light on in the room at night the bugs will find their way into the room, and currently also into the misquote net given the holes. Also, the WiFi in the room stopped working at night, not sure why.

Had an amazing weeklong stay at the Shala doing a personal yoga retreat. Enjoyed some creative and personalized yoga classes, skillful spa treatments and absolutely delicious food. The location couldn’t be topped, with my room tucked into the peaceful rice paddies but easy access to the bustle of Ubud! The staff are so kind and helpful. I miss the house made chocolate already!

This is a beautiful place, I wish I had stayed longer! Nikhil and Louisa are amazing yoga teachers, they take the time to address each student's individual needs and create a completely relaxed and serene atmosphere. The semi-open yoga studio is overlooking the rice fields into the jungle - there's no better place to practice yoga! The food is amazing as well. There are two restaurants with very varied vegetarian dishes, tasty smoothies and an amazing breakfast with high-quality ingredients. The spa treatments are great, too. You can choose from a variety of treatments, so they never get boring. Great infinity pool nestled into the jungle. Fun in-house activities and lovely guided walk through the rice paddies. Beautiful bungalow accommodation with a semi-open bathroom and a lush private garden with a patio. Efficient and kind organization of the entire program by Vina. All the staff are super friendly and relaxed and add to the entire experience. Highly recommended, I hope to be back 😊!

I stayed here for a week and did the in-house yoga retreat. This place is really special I don't think the reviews do it justice. The staff is so kind and helpful, the rooms are really lovely and comfortable. Super helpful management - I needed assistance extending my visa and Jero, the manager, saw to it that I got what I needed! The food is AMAZING! Both at the kitchen and at the indian cafe, Mumbai Station, near the street. The Shala is nestled back far from the road in between lovely fields of rice patties. It is tranquil. The Yoga Shala itself is a stunning space and has a wonderful view of all the ducks that wander about the rice patties. There are also chickens and cats that wander around. The cats are residents there and are very sweet. Louisa and Nykil are the owners of the Shala and also the yoga teachers. I learned so much about the spirituality of yoga and meditation. This was very new to me but it added so much to my practice. I also had 1:1 classes that allowed me to deepen my practice and address weaknesses and tightness in my body that I hadn't before. Have I mentioned the spa yet?? AMAZING! The women who staff the spa are so lovely. They are so skilled at what they did and were so kind and warm. The Shala is located in a great part of Ubud too. Far enough away from the center full of hustle and bustle but close enough that it's easy to get there via a taxi or scooter. The whole experience is just incredible. I was sad to leave. I can't wait to go back again someday!!

Divine environment for a yoga retreat, nestled in amongst rice paddies. Rooms are amazingly luxurious, staff are wonderful, food is great and the infinity pool is just gorgeous. I loved it all 🙏❤️
