If I could give this place more stars, I would😂 Truly a very pleasant experience and the food was very traditional and delicious. All made from scratch, nothing except for perhaps the crackers they serve on the side, is commercially made. So if you want to try home cooked Balinese food, this is a great place to go. The place is quite hidden, as you need to walk through their garden area to get to the dinning area. All of it was a great experience. We sat and watched their funny cats as we were eating. Beautiful relaxing garden setting. Family fun business.

This is a no miss experience! Five star food, service, and atmosphere. This is a family restaurant, so when you come here you support the work of the beautiful local community and get an authentic experience. The place is also a homestay where we had the honour to meet and spend a lot of time with lovely Ketut. The restaurant is in the middle of a beautiful garden (lookout for the rabbits!) full of amazing plants, that also includes a Hindu temple. During our stay we tried most of the plates but I'm unable to pick my favourite ☺️ don't miss out on the Arak cocktails🍸

My husband and I were looking for a traditional Balinese restaurant & we found “Balinese Home cooking” on google with the best rating and decided to try it out. From the moment we entered, it was such a zen & peaceful environment, away from the busy streets. The menu selection had only Balinese cuisine which was perfect for us. The owner came to greet us & he was so kind and welcomed us into his home. The food was 5/5, if you want it to be spicy, you can request for it & also ask for extra spicy sambal. The owner is also responsible for making some of the statutes by hand because he’s an artist himself. The whole experience was fantastic & it’s highly recommended to try it out especially for those looking for real Balinese home cooked food.

Beautiful Traditional satay chicken and amazing pork ribs topped off with great juices teas and jackfruit fritters. All set in a peaceful garden setting with a lovely family. We Will be back

Delicious traditional food served in a calm & private spot. It’s a residential area, it seems they normally introduce tourists to the Balinese culture. Went only for dinner. Food took quite a while as it’s home cooked, but it’s worth the wait!

What a fantastic and homely place. Had a really lovely evening here. The food is fantastic and all cooked by the owner who is a lovely man (I didn't catch his name). After we ate our meal he came over to us and chatted and told us all about his home and the art work in the place which was really interesting. He even stood with us while we waited for our taxi. Great experience, great home and great food!

This is a magical place! It’s within the owner’s family compound and he’s so friendly and welcoming. The food is also so delicious. We got the Ayam Bakar, the chicken noodle soup, and the hot ginger tea. He said his ribs are so good, if I’m ever in Bali again I would try it!! The owner told us that he learned cooking from his mom and really wants to spread Balinese culture through food. The atmosphere is also very chill and it’s just overall a wonderful place to have a meal in Ubud.

Everytime we are in Bali, this is the one place will always stop by I love their ribs, deliciously seasoned, and not the sweet kind (like a lot of ribs joints back in Malaysia) Their gado gado is simple but the balance of flavours is just refreshing. Back home our version is Rojak which is again too sweet. Last but not least. You have to take try their Arak cocktail, all of them! It's so delicious. You can taste the Arak but it blends so well with the fruits that it is mixed with. And it is 22k IDR! (RM7 / $1.7)

Our best food & dinner in Bali, and one of my best meals in Asia in recent times. The food was prepared with so much care and love. They consider cooking an art form. The food was so flavourful, yet light. Not a hint of too much oil or heaviness. Even if you think you dislike Indonesian food, their food will make you love it. Highly recommend it. Headed back there again today.

trying out this for the 2nd time. The food is tasty just like the first time I tried. The waitresses are all friendly and speak english very well. Unfortunately, due to the restaurant is outdoor, we can find some wild cats around here and they keep watching us. If you are not a cat-lover, you will feel not comfortable. Also, it’s difficult to find parking lot.

Stopped in for lunch today, amazing setting. Set in a traditional Balinese compound. Mr. Katuk chef and owner was nice enough to come out and chat. About his beautiful food. Thank you chef. The whole experience was great, service was prompt and friendly, food was well balanced and tasty. Not overly priced. Gardens are very tranquil and very nice to relax in.

Highly recommended. Home cooked home at their home. The chef and his son showed so much hospitality. My advice, if you like spicy food that brings the dishes to a whole new level, is to ask for it. They will oblige.

We came here after look on google some places where to have dinner near our villa and we find this place. It was a really nice dinner experience inside a typical Balinese home courtyard. We ordered 5 dishes: lumpiah, gado-gado, chicken wings, pork ribs and satay babi. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere was great. I’m not giving 5* because my satay wasn’t pork meat as I ordered, but it was for sure chicken. Maybe a mistake from the kitchen? Anyway I didn’t complain because it was good and I didn’t want to return a plate that I already started to eat

The food was as advertised Home Cooked, Balinese and absolutely delicious. The waits for the food can be long and watch for your order so that it doesn't go to the wrong table 😂. Very tasty, definitely worth a visit. Call ahead and book your table.

If you like (AMAZING) authentic food in a very calm and traditional setting, this is the place to go! The staff is very warming, the presentation of food is excellent, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is calm and cozy in a backyard. We have been here several times during our stay in Bali and it is truly the best place to eat in the area of Ubud!

Absolutely amazing and delicious- THIS IS A MUST IN UBUD! Easy stop to or from the rice paddies, was such a fresh breath away from all the touristy restaurants in ubud center. The staff is amazing, a true local and family owned spot with attention to detail in presentation and taste 🙏🏼

It’s a hidden gem in Ubud. We found this restaurant from Google and decided to try it. Definitely no regrets!!! Love the spices that used to the dishes and the portion just nice. Pork rib is superb!!!! Would like to come back again if I visit Ubud ❤️

This place offers a nice variety of different Balinese dishes. The food is mostly delicious, except for the Mie Goreng, which tastes a bit bland. The staff is very attentive and friendly, the overall atmosphere is super relaxing with a beautiful surrounding.

At this amazing Warung, you will get the best food in Ubud, you can taste that the food is made with love. The restaurant is a place where you feel welcome. The service is great too, if you ask them for recommendations, they will definitely recommend a very good dish, and not even the most expensive ones. They do what they do best, and that is cooking a home made meal with love, and the best part is they do it with a genuine smile on their face, you can see and taste that they live what they do. Thank you very much for making my stay in Ubud better.

good communication on whatapp to book the cooking session (only 3h before). The lesson was well animated by the owner of the house that is really nice and friendly. We cooked a lot of things and we were able to taste, cook and eat. We also had tips and information about each plates, ingredients and recipes. The owner also offered a visit to her house with a family temple. Note that the lesson included transfert to our hotel

This was hands down my best dining experience in Bali / Indonesia. The food here is indeed home cooked by a family that owns the business. We were the last customers for the night, and the owner came over just to chat with us. We learned about their humble beginnings, inspired by a childhood love and passion for cooking, passed down from their parents. I thought the pork ribs especially were outstanding, more tender than any I have had in the states. Literally melted. Must try if you are staying in Ubud! The arak cocktails were also insanely good and not marked up at all, like all the other tourist traps charging western $.

Amazing place with great atmosphere! Each dish is more delicious than the next! Can’t miss! Must try the pork ribs! Also, the owner, Ketut, is super friendly and attentive. My friend and I also stayed at Ketut’s homestay and we could not have picked a better host! 🙏🏻

Hands down the best Balinese food we've had. We got the ribs, nasi campur, Udang Suna Cekuh(Prawns cooked with yellow Bali spices), Kare be pasih(Balinese style seafood curry). All the dishes were so good that ordered extra and over ate 😂. Highly recommend this place. Thank you Ketut for sharing your food and culture with us!

Delicious, traditional, authentic Balinese dishes at a large family home. The food we had was freshly prepared and tasted amazing! We spoke to the owner and he speaks so passionately about food, that it really becomes an art. For dessert we had fried jackfruit, which was wonderful. All in all a very warm, homely, amazing best dining experience and definitely will be coming back again to check out. The rest of the menu.

An absolute highly recommended place! We ended up here thanks to the good reviews and what can we say... It was an absolute delight & we enjoyed every single minute as you are greeted so welcoming right from the moment you walk in and it feels like you are part of Ketut's family. Everything we ate, starters and main courses were delicious so we ended up coming back a total of four times. A big thanks to Ketut for his hospitality and that he even agreed to accompany us for a day through Ubud. It was just wonderful! We miss Ketut and the fantastic food a lot and are already looking forward to the next time we come back. Best, Laura & Daniel

Best traditional food I‘ve ever eaten here! As a Vegetarian there are also many possabilities to get delicious food here (as you can see in the picture). Very lovely owner with a very special service, nice conversations, good atmosphere and an unique ambience. It is not expensive. We‘d love to come back. It was a very special evening and a memorable dinner. Thanks for everything!

This place is fantastic. I went back 2 different nights while I was in ubud. The owner Ketut is a nice guy and the staff were friendly and attentive. I had the Soto Ayam both times for mu starter - a very flavorful chicken soup. Then for mains I tried the pepes Ikan (fish with spices cooked in banana leaf) and the second time I went I tried the Balinese style chicken curry. I loved both - much flavor. I tried their Arak (essentially balinese rum that is made as moonshine) passionfruit mojito on one of my visits, It was delicious and only 22k (1.50 usd!) Also they make snack foods. They cook their casava chips and banana chips in coconut oil. So if you want to buy a snack to take home with you, you can avoid the pufa and eat something local. I would come back to Ubud to eat here. It's so cheap. The quality is incredible. The service is good and the venue is beautiful, set in a Balinese house and garden.

Fantastic food, service, and place! Best I had until now. While low key warungs may be cheaper, they get nowhere close to this quality, and fancy places are expensive, but not from the heart. This place is pure love. The owner, Katut, is very friendly, and the cooks, including his sons, superb. Very personal. Highly recmmended!

If you are looking for an authentic Balinese meal. You gotta try this place. Located slightly outside Bali Center in the home of owner’s family, the journey (which you can easily get too with Gojek) is definitely worth it! We had the lumpia, Nasi campur and tuna base Bali. They were all so good. Each dish in the Nasi campur were not heavily spiced and compliment each other well on the plate. You need to chose the yellow rice for this. The Tuna base Bali was generous with thick fish slices and vegetables.
