Wouldn’t recommend staying here. Our pillows were moldy and stank. When we asked them for new pillows they didn’t even seemed surprised. One of our towels had blood stains on it. Only reason they get a star is because of the location and property which was quite nice. Besides that it was horrible, even the breakfast was disgusting we couldn’t drink the coffee and the toast was hard, pancake was good though.

We stayed here a few days ago and absolutely loved it! This hotel was definitely the best place we stayed during our vacation in Bali, and maybe even ever in our history of (very budget) traveling. The traditional architecture, gardens, and koi pond were absolutely breathtaking when we first walked in. You could tell that they carefully tailored every last detail--we were greeted with two fresh banana smoothies as welcome drinks, and even the breakfast place was beautifully put together, with fresh flowers everywhere and a beautiful table setting. It truly felt like a five-star experience for $30/night. Plus, it was very quiet at night (something of a rarety in Bali, I've found), the wifi was very speedy and reliable, and the shower! The hot water and water pressure felt very good after long days of sightseeing. If I come back to Bali, this is definitely the place I would book (and for longer than two nights this time, too).

We had such a nice stay here - definitely the best place we stayed in Bali. The family owners were lovely, with very nice dogs (Molly, Brownie and the 3 new beautiful puppies!!). The room was of high standard, very clean and spacious. Toilet and shower sufficient with plenty hot water. AC worked a treat. The family were so friendly and made it feel like home - providing recommendations for places to go, and even umbrellas when it was rainy! I would have stayed longer but they were sold out for the rest of my time in Bali - book early to avoid disappointment!

10/10 would recommend! Nyoman was such a nice host and my room right by the pool was beautiful with a nice little terrace. The whole place is so calm and like an oasis from busy Ubud. Also loved how close it was to the Yoga Barn!

I've been a regular at Merthaysa 2 for about 8 years now. The folks running the place, including Wayan the owner, are incredibly friendly – it's like being part of their family, not just another guest. And the staff, especially Alit at the check-in desk, are always there to help with anything you might need during your stay. The location is spot-on, right in the heart of Ubud, so you can easily walk to pretty much anywhere in town. Plus, it's easy on the wallet, making it a great choice for budget travelers or those looking for an extended stay. When I used to stay here for a month at a time, there's nothing like waking up to a Balinese coffee and a fresh plate of fruit for breakfast. I'm definitely planning on returning – see you there again soon!

To me the best place I stayed in on my Bali trip! I extended twice😉. Super amazing hosts, a great vibe in the guesthouse, yammi breakfast a super clean pool. Rooms are cleaned daily and everyone is happy to help you. Located 5min from the yoga barn and still super central with tons of reataurants shops and sightseeing stuff arround. Warm family athmosphere and helpful folks near Ubud centre give you a feeling beeing home. 20 min. staight walk to ubud palace. They offer comfortable, spacy rooms, pool, breakfast. Had a good time here.

Absolutely loved staying here! The staff is very friendly and always available to help. Right in the middle of town in a very quiet area. Rent a scooter and explore the town! Can't wait to come back!

One of the nicest stays in four months of travelling. The staff were so nice, they helped to arrange motorbikes delivered to the hotel and a boat to Gili T. They cleaned the room every day, breakfast and times were perfect and the pool was great to relax at.

It's my favourite place in Bali. Located in the heart of Ubud, 10 minutes walk from the Yoga Barn and the Monkey forest, this beautiful and quiet guest house is run by the amazing Alit and the wonderful Wayan.

The family hosts are really warm and helpful, they went above and beyond to help me feel comfortable and teach me about Balinese culture. The location is amazing, the rooms are comfortable, and the pool is huge compared to the others I've seen in Ubud.

The homestay family were very accomodating, responsive and helpful during my entire stay, especially when I was unwell and almost bed ridden. The room I stayed in was basic and was cleaned every day. The location was great and walking distance from where I needed to be.

Favourite place to stay in Bali! Such a perfectly kind, warm, fun and friendly family running it. Great complimentary breakfast, stunning rooms and the nicest facility that feels like high luxury for the price.

Great place to stay if you are in Ubud. Well located and very nice owners (family). Good prices for what you get. The rooms are minimalistic, some extra cubberts or hangers would have been nice. Would I come back? Definitely! 👌🏻

A wonderful relaxing experience. This is a family run establishment in the heart of the tourist area. Being located short distance away from a main street along a sealed "gang" access laneway the compound is surprisingly quiet while still providing quick access to all the things travellers want. The sweet family members who run the place go out of their way to be helpful and give advice concerning shopping, money changers, local attractions and transport. My comfortable room was located a couple of paces from the well maintained infinity pool. WIFi, A/C hot water and the refrigerator all worked while everything in the compound including the room was kept very clean. The compound is traditional Balinese style but the rooms are all modern and spacious. The breakfast choices had everything that I wanted and it was prepared fresh between 7.30 and 11.00 each morning. My only complaint for my 3 night stay was the wet weather which was beyond the control of my gracious hosts who provided an umbrella when required. I am happy to recommend the Merthayasa 2 Bungalows.

Very clean room and swimming pool. Nice place to stay and relax. Good location. You can even order nasi campur as breakfast.

Awesome place to stay when exploring Ubud. Great pool to cool down when it gets too hot and cozy rooms with AC. Alit, her family and friendly staff had been great during our stay, giving us tips on what to do and where to eat. They also arranged transportation for us. Location is also good: 5 min walk to the Monkey Forest and 15 min to Ubud Palace. I would definitely recommend this place!

The place is clean, the rooms and bathroom are spacious and the hosts Nyoman and Wayan took me in as their sister. They are very friendly, attentive and helpful all the time! Plus, the location is fantastic- walking to everything and anything you might need.

This is an amazing place to stay especially the owners of the bungalows were so kind. The incharge Alit was especially very kind in helping us with everything, we definitely would recommend this place.

Very accessible by walking/uber, friendly owners, close to a supermarket and ATM. The room was incredibly clean and has excellent air circulation. Definetely going back here someday with my gf!
