Nice hostel. A more expensive option but breakfast is included (limited options not including smoothie bowls) and you get a 15 minute free massage a day. The pool is nice but could be cleaner. The beds are comfortable and big (double bed size). The toilets are clean but quite a walk away from rooms. Staff are great and very helpful - good English.

Overall a good stay, in a very nice hostel with lots to offer including large beds and well kept facilities. One issue however was that bathrooms were a long way to walk in the middle of the night from the upstairs rooms. But overall the place was excellent with great food options and it was by all accounts a nice place to be. However, one staff member in particular took it upon himself to not contact myself when I made it obvious to him in particular that I lost my AirPods. He instead pocketed them, cleaned them and removed them from my Apple ID. I had to drive 3 hours total to retrieve them from his house and was given no such apology from him but some excuse that he was keeping them safe, clearly not suggested by them being removed from my Apple ID and them being wiped. I do not know his name but he is a receptionist with glasses and an earring. On the other hand, I would like to commend the professionalism of Surya and his other colleagues in helping me track down the AirPods. Even though it took a while they acted in a manner befitting of the ÂŁ20 a night of the Kuna. But BEWARE of the shady employee who essentially stole my AirPods and was looking to either sell or keep them judging by the condition. Despite this, the hostel was excellent and I had no complaints but this person is not to be trusted and if you lose stuff he is the first person to be suspicious of.

The staff is really sweet but it gets hot in the dorm room even with AC on. They turn off AC during the day so it’s really hard to relax when you have already spent all day outside in the heat. I had breakfast panckes but they were not warm at all…

Best hostel I’ve stayed so far: excellent staff, excellent facilities even in dorms, social side, great pool and activities. Why not 5 stars? Because of the toilets management. May it be in the rooms (no insonorisation, direct communication with the shower/no wall) or in the common place (close to the bar/pool, no roof so no insonorisation, everyone eats everything). To sum it up: may you have the least digestive issue and want to preserve your social dignity, you’re stuck, you’ll have to leave the hostel and go outside. I’m still amazed such obvious mistake can be made, prioritizing style over common sense.

Clean, kind and amazing facility. Steps away from monkeys and close to restaurants / spas / ubud. The pool area is wonderful. Landscaping is done well. Free yoga in the morning and the breakfast, in my opinion, is spectacular.

Great hostel! It does look exactly like the pictures, the atmosphere is very nice. The rooms are spacious and clean and there are double beds for everybody. Breakfast is a bit limited, but included. Everyday there is a free massage and yoga class from Sari, that was amazing! Next to that they organize nice activities like cooking class, movie night, live music and transfers for club. They have good food and some amazing and original cocktails. The bartenders tantri and the guy from the picture below are the best! ❤️ They could improve on internet connection and the distance to bathroom and shower but except for that would fully recommend!

The best hostel I’ve stayed in my life. Great location, close to the monkey Forrest and just 15 minutes by walk to the main road. Super clean, great vibe, amazing music. It’s very easy to meet friends since it’s quite cosy compared to his sister hostel Puri Garden. People working here are amazing (a shout out to the lady who teaches yoga and gives massages). The bed is super comfy, lovely breakfast. They also have lovely activities like trivia and movie night!

I had an amazing experience at Kuna Hostel. Clean, great environment with many events, free yoga, free massages and an amazing staff. David the bartender was so friendly and the rest of the staff were so sweet. Will definitely go back 10/10!

My best ever hostel experience. Its not a party hostel. If youre looking for that it's not the right place. But other than that you have everything. Massage, good breakfast, awesome taste of music, best ever beds you can get in a hostel and so on. The only problem is that you probably have to have scooter because its not easy to reach the main street.

Lovely chill vibe here ✨but still social! Very quiet area compared to Puri Garden & Arya ( I stayed there as well ) The staff are so dedicated and the manager is so understanding and on point to improve every aspect of the experience Highly recommend staying here ( and for girls to try Arya Wellness Retreat a bit more expensive but so worth it )

This hostel is beautiful! Lovely staff and clean facilities. The hostel has activities going on every night which are easy to meet new people at. The free breakfast is delicious! There is also free morning yoga and massages included in the stay 👍🏼

Love love love Kuna. So much so that we came back to stay. Friendly staff, family vibe in the hostel with evening activities. Comfortable beds with privacy curtains, light and own plug next to bed. Good aircon and fans in rooms. Only downside is the bathrooms are far from the rooms. Free breakfast is good. Free 15 minute message daily is great. Highly recommend.

Kuna is probably one of the most expensive hostels in Ubud, but it's worth the money. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere at Kuna is like a family. You can easily make friends with everyone here. It was my first time travelling alone and staying in a hostel, but Kuna made it a great experience. They also offer day trips, Mount Batur climbs, culture nights and other activities for those who don't have any plans. If you're travelling alone and looking for a great place to stay, Kuna is perfect for you. They serve excellent cocktails and breakfast to start your day off right. I stayed for five days and four nights and met people from all over the world. The staff was very friendly, especially Charlie/Charly (sorry, I'm not sure how to spell your name; they told me you went back to Germany). The manager was also great and even offered me a drink if I came back to Kuna in the future. (I'll definitely come back to Bali for that drink!)

The most warm and inviting hostel! The environment was so clean, the morning breakfast was yummy, and I loved the community activities. My favorite was the family dinner. 10/10

Was my home for 8 days. Bed is huge and yoga every day is awesome. Breakfast is delicious. Totally recommend compared to Puri garden (I’ve stayed there too)

  • 5/5 Anisha J. 6 months ago on Google
I have stayed there for 8 nights (a little longer for a hostel, right?) but I only wish I could stay there for longer. It’s just perfect in every sense- from privacy, cleanliness, welcoming to amenities. Couldn’t recommend more!

One of the best hostels in Bali, and I’m sure it’s the best in ubud. Expended few times and had a really good time there. The stuff is amazing friendly, they have a lot of events and the food is good too. Massages and yoga everyday. Love it.

Nice hostel, good vibes and fun activities. A bit out of the Center of Ubud. Not great to walk to town. A big disadvantage was the fact that the toilets are far from the rooms (have to cross the pool area to get there, so if it rains you’re soaked). Also bathroom could be cleaner

I stayed here in Feb 23 and had an excellent time start to finish. Having stayed at many hostels over the years, this is one of my favourites ever! The staff, owner and guests were kind and helpful, and I made many wonderful friends. There's enough space for those who are working remotely and the WiFi accommodates video calls just fine. The beds are big, rooms/sheets are clean, and the bathrooms are shared, but they're also cleaned each morning! The hostel is very social and designed to encourage interaction aside from the usual drinking and partying - there are trivia nights, live music, a central pool, the list goes on! There's still a bar, great food and snacks to choose from, as well as great spotify playlists usually playing in the background in the afternoons. Given it's located in a chill spot right near the monkey forest, you're likely to catch a gorgeous Ubud sunrise (pre yoga sesh) and be out for your activities before it gets hot. You have complimentary 15 min massages available to you, as well as complimentary yoga classes every morning. I'd recommend this hostel to anyone travelling solo or with friends to Ubud! Give it a go :)

Very good hostel! They have lots of events, breakfast included and free messages! The beds are larger then your regular hostel bed and they have two pillows!! The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful with anything you might need (especially in booking tours)! Would definitely recommend their Ubud highlights tour, it’s a great introduction to ubud!

Amazing stay. Pancakes are great in the morning! They organised the mt batur sunrise hike which was amazing. Only thing i’d change is to ask for a bottom bunk as the ladder can be a bit tricky and the top locker is hard to put your luggage in.

Best hostel ever! Ticks all the boxes for me. Foods banging, very social, free 15 min massage and a decent breakfast. We extended our stay for 2 more nights. The only thing I would say is that the toilet/shower is far.. but you’ll get over it. I’ll be returning to ubud and only staying here.

  • 5/5 Mika S. 1 year ago on Google
10/10. I was staying there for 3 nights and extended for more and more nights. The staff helped me with procedures I had to do during my trip which is not obvious. They organize activities in the hostel every day. It’s very good if you’re looking for making new friendships. Also the location is good. In a very beautiful and quiet street next to the monkey forest.

place is very nice and newly renovated, perfect bunks beds (1,2 meters wide) and two pillows. bathroom very new but could be a little cleaner.

Great spot with super comfy beds. I stayed here a couple of times when I was up in Ubud and the breakfast was really nice. Super friendly staff too!

Great atmosphere and friendly people! The included breakfast was surprisingly tasty and solid portion size. The location next to the money forest was great with easy access to the rest of Ubud. Would definitely stay again!

This hostel has the nicest staff. While our short stay, in the mornings we joined the free 7am yoga class, and the next, the mount Batur hike (450k). The first night we had family bbq all you can eat (100k) and the second evening we enjoyed the free trivia game night, which Mireya organized. She is a wonderful entertainer and after chatting with her, her fun and open minded personality made us want to stay longer. On our check out day we did their very first cooking class (250k). Teja and the hostels chef taught us how to cook 5 traditional dishes. 4 main dishes and one dessert. Also you have to try the smash crispy potatoes! Overall we had the best time of our trip in this hostel and will definitely come back!

Kuna Bali is the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Staff are incredibly polite and lovely (especially Henry!). Rooms are perfect for a hostel, double beds, curtains, extremely clean, communal bathrooms are cleaned regularly to a high standard, fun optional events, couldn’t recommend it enough

Probably the best hostel I've been so far. The free massage it was the best of my life, food really good and staff very kind and gentle. Room very clean, lockers, toilets 10+ 👌👌 I highly recommend it 👍♥️

I originally booked one night but then extended for four more nights because the place was beyond amazing. This place is less of a hostel and feels more like a hotel. The dorms are well lit, large and and airy. The beds are huge and mattresses are super comfy and thick. The pictures of this place are a genuine representation of the place. They have free yoga in the morning and scheduled free massages during the day by the pool. What more could one ask for? The common area consist of a pool flanked by two large bayside lounges where you can sit and chill comfortably. This is perfect for the solo traveler as there is ample room to be alone or have a chat to others naturally. The whole hostel is immaculate. They have built this with a high attention to detail. The showers and bathroom facilities are large and the shower heads are like rain showers. I tried four main dishes and they were all on point. Each dish was fresh and colorful. The menu isn't extensive which is a good thing as they focus on quality rather quantity. I tried the tuna poke bowl, schnitzel, chicken fettuccine and the ubud special burger and was very impressed with with the flavors and presentation. The staff was caring and were always willing to give advice and travel tips. They genuinely wanted to assist. They kindly organized the Mt Batur volcano climb and white water rafting for us. If you are coming to Ubud I wholeheartedly can't recommend a better place to stay, eat, chill and explore. I will definitely be returning Arya!

This place is absolutely amazing. The best way to describe it is a resort with bunk beds. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and work hard to keep the place spotless. The rooms have plenty of space and the beds are very big and comfortable. The showers and toilets are very spacious and clean. The area around the pool and roof terrace are a nice place to unwind and meet other travelers. The breakfast that's included is fine and the free massages that are offered is a great extra service

Lovely hostel, the staff is super friendly and helpful! Always there to assist you, the social/pool area is open and Pleasant, perfect to be in the sun taking some tan and relax, in the eve the social activity’s beside the pool is just amazing vibe to enjoy. The rooms is super clean and comfortable, the shared bathroom super clean and big. I really recommend to stay here once in Ubud. I meet amazing people and have a great experience. Will come back very soon!

This is by far the best hostel I have ever stayed in! I intentionally wanted to stay for one night and ended up staying for 5. The staff are unbelievable, the beds are ridiculously comfortable, fantastic breakfast and is very easy to meet new people. With your booking you also get free massages and yoga included. You seriously don't need to look anywhere else.

This is the best hostel I’ve stayed in. Is amazing for socializing but also having your own space, is small but in a good way, the beds are amazing, the pool is clean and good temperature, the showers are hot and clean as well as the bathroom, you get to experience different activities like family dinners, trivia’s, yoga, and live music. Is close to many restaurants and bars, and finally the staff is very nice.
