1. The hotel management was very polite and accommodating. They served us very well, and gave us excellent advice about local touring too. 2. The rooms included bunker style beds, and were hygienic, complimented with the necessary toiletries. The caveat is you have to pay pay extra for the AC to be turned on. 3. The location is a bit meh. But this is slightly compensated by the view of the Pichola Lake from the rooftop, which looks serene at night. 4. The hostel also includes a floor dedicated to kitchen, and various indoor games. This was quite refreshing and honestly a fun perk.

Had an amazing time at this hostel! Its location is its best feature—situated very close to most of the tourist attractions. Hospitality is truly welcoming. Ajay (frontdesk), and Himmatji (housekeeper) are kind and friendly. The only 3 minor cons, of this place are: • Rooftop: Although it is a quiet place with a breathtaking view, it’s the 5th floor. Can get too tiring if you’re staying on the ground or first floor. • Breakfast: The timing is only 8 AM to 10 AM. Post 10, you’re on your own. • Facilities: Some facilities—like a bulb or exhaust fan don’t work in some rooms. Speaking of which, the private rooms are too small compared to the dorms. It can be quite confusing to locate the property as a new visitor.

The room was clean and comfortable; a bit small like almost all hostels in Udaipur. The common area, cafe and the rooftop seating was all quite good. Also has parking available which is a big plus point for Udaipur.

Overall the experience was good. Cool place, cool staff, location is also good according to price. They allowed me to stay there on the day of checkout as my bus was late in the Evening. There were two issues, may be owner can take into account 1. 6 dorms does have only one weird small fan which was not enough. 2. There were so many mosquitoes in the room that I couldn't sleep properly

We had such a great time in this hostel .... Everything went so smoothly starting from the check in and check out....Our room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast prepared by them was really good ....We would specially like to thank our Host ji Ajaypal for making our one day stay so comfortable and memorable.....He is such a sweet and genuine host 💞 and helped us a lot before checking in time as we arrived late ...This hostel gave us lot of good memories as we made really good and genuine friends here (Amar and Fabio) ....Thanku Whereabout Hostel for making our first trip so memorable....we are going to recommend this hostel to our other friends...and hope to visit this hostel again☺️

Had an amazing experience staying at Whereabout. I was in a 4 bed dorm. Though the rooms were a little too small, that was not a problem for any (me and my friends) of us. The common area was a great place to be. There were a lot of card games, carrom, foosball (didn't have a ball though😛), guitar (string broken😛), carrom etc. The view from the terrace was amazing. The place offered free breakfast but we had a bad experience with it. The boiled eggs were smelling pungent. The utensils were not very clean. You don't need to get any bike rentals or something. There are facilities for the same at the hostel itself. Also, they take care of activities like cooking classes and all (can't say much about these as we did not participate). The location is really a plus point. Major tourist places are within 1-2 kilometers from the hostel. The host is really a nice person and allowed us to stay in the common area even after our checkout till evening (this is subject to availability, please don't rely on this).

What a shambles. I moved room three times. The first one was downstairs and noisy with voices. The second smelled strongly of a petrol like smell. The third had a loud thumping noise from the fan below. Mosquitos are in the rooms as the window covers are broken. The bedding didn’t feel very clean, the shower curtains are mouldy and the place could use some overall TLC. Having said that, there’s a great view from the rooftop and free breakfast. The staff were very helpful and sweet so I feel bad leaving this review, but I think it’s good to leave an honest review of the property so that others know before arriving / suggestions for improvement.

A very nice experience, the hostel is at a near to perfect location as all the tourist attractions are at walking place, also lots of fun activities can be done in the common area, a very good crowd comes here, all in all, go for it!

Awesome hostel in a great location. The beds were super comfy and clean bathrooms. Kush and the crew are all legends.

Could improve in more cleanliness. Also, the breakfast utensils and pop up toaster etc are never cleaned. So, if you give free breakfast, i expect it to be healthy at least in terms of cleanliness and hygiene.

Definitely recommending staying here ! The hostel is at good location . The ambience was quite comforting. They even allow to cook anything in their kitchen . If you are a person looking for a calming vibe , you can go to rooftop. The staff ( uncle ) and the host are very caring and make me feel like home . They even let me stay at common place before check in and after check out for which I am really thankful to them 😊

This hostel is simply Amazing. Nice view from the top, very relaxed and wholesome vibe. Rooms are decent and clean. Easy on pocket. Can plan long term stay here as well. If you're looking for the best stay or hostel in udaipur then you can definitely go for this hostel it is damm budget friendly and the aura they provide is superb,you can chill with your gang and donot forget to meet Ajay bhaiya over there he will serve you the best service as a friend, as a guide and ofcourse he has the best hand at cooking so donot miss that. I am missing udaipur and the whereabouts too while writing this too

I loved my stay at Whereabout Hostel a lot. My friend and I stayed a week in the 4 bed dorm. The staff is helpful and kind, and there's a guy cleaning the property every day. Breakfast is included which is toast with butter, jam and banana as well as aloo paratha-style-toast and coffee. It has a quite nice rooftop with a great view of the City and a lake as well. The Backyard Café just across the street is also a very good place to have a coffee or breakfast right by the lake and enjoy some peace and quiet. I recoment this hostel to you :)

I was hopeful from the reviews but there are nicer hostels in India than this one. The staff were very friendly, funny, and helpful, there’s a cool rooftop, and the location was good, next to the bridge and many cafes and restaurants. Otherwise, though, we weren’t impressed. The private room needs better cleaning, and pest management; there are some insects or something chewing inside the wood paneling because the nightstand and floor were covered in piles of sawdust which reappeared daily even after I wiped them away. The mats outside the bathroom and the room are not absorbent mats, but patterned rubber mats that looked full of grime. The sheets seemed clean but blankets were old/stained. Everything metal was rusty, and there was no mirror in the bathroom which is inconvenient. The door is also finicky to fully close and lock. The complimentary breakfast is simple but convenient; could be improved with a little more options as well as cleaner kitchen facilities.

This place is real vibe. The location is fabulous, I can say peaceful and the authenticity of nature made me embrace the beauty of Udaipur. Comfortable stay, amazing staff. Will strongly suggest this place. Hoping to visit soon.

Absolutely neat and clean hostel, very good location with great Café at the lake not even 100m away. Beautiful rooftop and sweet chilling night activities with the best people you could wish for. Planned 3 days there and ended up staying for 11 whole days and i would do it again. Lots of love for you guys ❤️

We had a very pleasant stay during Diwali season. The staff is amazing and so kind. Kush also helped us book our train tickets for our next destination. They organize a lot of activities in the common area so that you can meet other people and enjoy your stay at the hostel. It is also perfect location from all of udaipur’s attractions. You’ll have great advices on what to do and where to eat.

Whereabout hostel is located in the prime location, you will be able to visit most of the places by walk such as Gangour Ghat, Ambrai Ghat, City Palace etc. Additionally, it's also surrounded by pretty cafés and good restaurants such as Khamma Ghani, Upre, Jheel's etc. From the hostel's terrace you get a really good view of City Palace, Lake Pichola, Monsoon palace (Night view) etc. They have good food options and serve yummy food in their own cafe, "Backyard". The staff there are very friendly, and they will for sure make your trip memorable. Highly recommended!

ACCOMMODATION Private room was not cleaned. Commented on it, and was moved to another non-cleaned room. Trashcan still full, bathroom hasn't been cleaned in a while. And very humid. It gives a bad smell (mold) and even the matras was humid. I left after 1 night and canceles my second. SERVICE The guys are nice and moved me to directly to the other bigger room without charge. However it was also not clean. They should pay more attention to this. LOCATION Close to the city centre, entry on a bit of a weird place.

Good experience, the staff and the people from the hostel were really kind and interesting. They also booked a taxi for us early in the morning. The dorm was ok but the bathroom could be cleaner and the bed were a bit humid. Overall good experience for the price!

Amazing place, amazing people, amazing location. Whereabout is located closed by the old city center, 10 min walk to city palace. It is clean and the host organize daily activities for the guests. They have a partnership with a local caffé where u can get a discount. Personally what made my staying amazing were the people running the place, just amazing and inclusive people!!!! 4 friends , midnight, rooftop , is your vibe? Whereabout is the coolest option ! We Went there for two days. From the very first day, the hostel staff made us feel like its our own house and they know us since long. Very comfortable and scenic place. Best part is parking if you are travelling with 4 wheels. Overall the experience was really amazing and the best part that they have got you from the first day . Your requirements are fullfilled 100% if possible . Really amazed by the hospitality. Very affordable hostel very close to Lala Pichhola. Clean and eat rooms. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. You can chill in the balcony overlooking the lake in the night time.

A perfect place when u r n Udaipur , clean rooms, spacious bathrooms , gaming area , community kitchen and the best is roof top. The property is on walkable distance from all the main tourist point.. The owner is very approachable , helpful and coperative . He has solution for all travelling needs. The night view from the roof top is amazing ..u get glued when you are up there in night. They also own restaurant jus opposite to property which serve amazing food.
