Our least favourite hotel that we stayed at during our 3 week trip to India. This is an absolutely stunning hotel with incredible views. But the staff and service ruin the whole experience. Everything was dirty and covered in dust. In 2 nights that we stayed there we did not receive any housekeeping. And upon arrival had to ask for towels because our room had none. The drains in washrooms smelled liked sewage. And unlike every hotel we stayed in India they do not provide bottled water and expect you to drink their “filtered” water. I did not bother with their swimming pool because it was also dirty and was more of a size of a hot tub, not to mention directly facing the restaurant (which is open to the public) so anyone dining there would have a full view of anyone in the pool. Service was incredibly bad. Staff seemed unhappy to be there and to have guests stay at their hotel. The front desk was extremely unhelpful and gave us wrong information about boat tours. We inquired multiple times and were always told all tours end at 5 pm in the entire city. Meanwhile at 6:30 I see boat tours outside our window. They seem to only want you to take the hotel’s own private boat tour. The phones in hotel rooms are useless. And apparently are only for communication with front desk. Many restaurants that we wanted to go to required phone reservations and we could not even do that. Lastly, apparently the hotel provides complimentary tuktuk service which no one at the hotel bothered to inform us about. We only found out when we had to search our reservation details for check out information. Overall we could not wait to leave and I don’t recommend staying there. If you like the aesthetics of the hotel, just stop by for the restaurant on their rooftop.

No comments. Travel is only auto and hotel won't assist us to give us so called extensive customer service by having contract with auto walas to pick up and drop railway station even after such huge price. Food and rooms are good. Rooftop Restaurant as well is good. Travel to destination especially since room rent is high enough and hence had to be better worked out by hotel to really make it The best place to stay.

I was visiting the rooftop restaurant only. It was super beautiful, quiet and of great atmosphere at sunset and dinner time. Service was good, prices on the higher end, especially on drinks, but as supposed there were not so many tables on the terrace with a great view, they are expected. Lovely experience in Udaipur, not to be missed.

Strong petroleum smell in the room, machine noise for the whole night: this is what you need to expect if you end up in a non lake facing room. These rooms are not in the palace itself but in a very uncomfortable near by building. The only luck this hotel have is that the building itself is amazing. You are probably better by booking a room with lake view (if available) or be ready for a nightmare. If these rooms are not available I suggest to choose another hotel. Foreigners are not welcome here.

Both the stars are purely for the look and aesthetics of the hotel. Staff is extremely rude and they really need some serious changes in the hotel. Restaurant has a wide menu but half the things aren’t available. Such a great property with extremely high potential is getting wasted. Come here only if you are aesthetics driven like me but otherwise it’s going to be a huge huge disappointment. (mainly because of the staff)

Best place to live at in Udaipur!! I for sure would keep coming back to this place. This is my second visit at the hotel, it’s beautifully located, food is amazing. Staff is courteous and welcoming, rooms are clean and gorgeous. It definitely can cater to all kinds of people. No amount of good words can give credit to this property. It is also very safe.

View is amazing like you would expect from a rooftop restaurant. Interior is also great. However, food is okay. Not for you if you like nonspicy because they don't follow the instructions or even tell you if they can't make something less spicy. Secondly, they charged a hefty 700Rs to cut cake that we got ourselves... Illogical pricing of items. I guess it's a good place for tourists to visit one time.

The property is amazing. But the staff is pathetic. I have never seen such arrogant staff. We were having our breakfast literally eating and one of your staff stopped by to say that we are closing buffet in 5 minutes, if you want something you can take. Is this the way to treat your guest? I can bet your staff can not say this to the guests who are from outside India. And this is only one thing which I am mentioning. Not to mention that food (buffet cause I think it was only made according to Non-Indians) was horrible. The person who was handling the restaurant area was even worse. I feel that you guys are only trying to impress non Indians which was pathetic. I totally regret spending my money.

Nice hotel at lakeside. Awesome food specially non veg. Highly recommended though a bit expensive. Eating by the lake view is another level experience. We all enjoyed the lovely lunch we had. Staff was courteous and though we were late they served us whatever we ordered. Keep it up.

It's been a week since I have come back from this beautiful property , and since then I can't get over the memories ,the hospitality and the kind nature of staff . Had witnessed The most beautiful sunset from the roof top restaurant . Room was beautiful , the welcome letter with cookies added was a good personalised gesture . The evening dance show with such talented dancer and the beautiful soulful singing surely did made it feel like a fairytale .and special mention to the santoor player who plays during the breakfast , his voice was extremely soulful and magical The staff helped us arrange a boat to reach to our next destination .it's a must visit place , the people are extremely kind and they literally went out of their way to make us feel special. Thank you it was a wonderful stay. Highly recommended and must visit.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Loved every bit of the short stay! The property sent a boat to the other hotel that we stayed at across the lake, got a slight early check in! Friendly staff, beautiful and well enhanced decor. Breakfast and dinner with wow views overlooking Pichola Lake. This hotel is a vibe!

The place is up a hill. You have to pass through narrow dirty lanes. It’s the dirty part that was annoying. The exterior looked lovely. They have done it up well. Our room looked over the lake. The washroom had a terrible stink. Unbearable. The windows of the room could not be opened for fresh air due to pigeons teeming just outside. So while we were supposedly in a good place, the stay was inconvenient. The food was pretty bad. The waiters were not very prompt or would not be able to get the order right in one go. I was very happy to leave this so called palace. The staff was not very courteous either.

This place provide a panoramic view of lake pichola ..rooms are spacious and well maintained. Its antique architecture, view and surrounding make it picturesque. There were folk musicians and dancer in the evening and a folk musician who was playing sarangi at the time of breakfast. The food though was not really good .can improve a lot..but otherwise out stay was nice.

Amazing location that provides a breathtaking view of pichola lake. The food is relatively expensive but worth visiting once. The rooftop view is amazing, although requires prior reservation specially over the weekends. There is rajasthani folklore performance that happened during evening as well that can be enjoyed. Highly recommended to visit with friends and family.

All good, just bit at elevation. but they should seriously think of breakfast options and top floor cleanliness which is among first reason to opt this hotel. Rest Jharokha, view, cleanliness of entire property is good.

For view and ambience 5 star. For food 2-3 star as we had bad experience. Ordered chicken which was not properly cooked, paneer was not very tasteful. Drinks were horrible! 1 star Staff and services were slow. So all together 3 star! So if u want to go for a date where ambience is more important than food, then good place but for a proper dinner won't suggest.

This hotel is right near Chandpole Parking on Pichola Lake. Cars cannot reach this place. Typically they send a Rick for picking up you and luggage. Same service is provided at checkout. The hotel is maintained very well. We stayed in a suite and was very spacious and nice. The food is pretty average (especially breakfast etc.,). Very close to lots of sightseeing activities and city palace. Enjoyed the stay.

I have given 1 star just for food. The service and staff were very rude. The moment we entered the place there was no one to escort or to tell us the seating arrangement. After getting a manager they said very rudely that without reservation they won't allow us to sit. We went downstairs restaurant and the manager again was rude and said without reservation we cannot come. After sometime the staff said they will give us a corner Jharokha table which was behind the billing counter. But the service was again very poor since they didn't give plates or forks with the food and we had to wait for 5 minutes just to get the cutlery after the food arrived. The restaurant no doubt is good but there should be proper ventilation or fans near the Jharokha table because the windows don't open and it gets super hot and also the light was not working. I am giving 2 stars just for the food quality but the quantity was not fair as per the price. We have worked in the hospitality industry for the last 3 years and we know how to deal with guests. But this was not the way to greet or treat a guest at a 3 star restaurant. That's not why we paid 4500/- at this place . Before visiting this place I have recommended it to many of my own guests but I think I won't do that from now. I would recommend you to either train your managers or tell them to leave. You guys spoiled the experience for which I was eagerly waiting for.

Good location, average service, but really bad food. Staff was helpful, but the food from the start to the end was awful. Cost of the food items were not worth the value. We ordered lemon chicken for starters, chicken masala, dal makhani and roti for main course and sadly all the items were bad tasting and chicken was stale. Cost was high just because of location. We were three people and spent 4k but really it was worth just 1k. Overall pathetic experience.

very bad service from staff on all fronts. they do not inform that cars cannot come to hotel... we have to stop way back and take auto to reach the hotel. asked for water bottels in rooms, a couple of times.. they did not provide as water from glass bottel smell is coming. Hotel and rooms are nice, live music ... they have to improve a lot in service. food is good. Bath room should have been better ...

This is a amazing property on the banks of the lake. You should choose a lake facing room which gives you the feel of being in the lake. They have ethnic sitting arrangements in each room with round pillows and low height tables. The antique shops on way to hotel have a amazing variety

It was an amazing property with such a beautiful. We booked a lake side sofa seating and it was very pleasant. We were served by a waiter named Hitesh. He was really sweet and helped us out of his way to make our anniversary dinner special ❤️

Just a Perfect photogenic place . Pretty, neat rooms and bathrooms with all toiletry supplies. Restuarant next to lake view is total bliss. You can spend hours resting on cushion with your books, movie or any. Dinner on the terrace with a candle lit feels out of the world. Own vehicles have different parking area as they can't enter the narrow road, and hence they have rikshaw for pick and drop to the hotel.

Staying at the back of the hotel (furthest away from the lake) runs a risk of no sleep. Loud generator noises next door wakes you up at 12:30 and stops at 8:45 the next morning. So loud the bed vibrates. We were moved the next day after complaining heavily. There was no apology. The building is beautiful so I would recommend going for dinner, which is delicious, and if you wish to stay, be careful about your room location.

The hotel had a delightful aesthetic. Despite not having a reservation, the manager made arrangements, securing us a table with a direct lakeside view. The food was superb, and the service was commendable. A must-visit spot in Udaipur for a dinner with a view.

Wow what am amazing location. The staff are incredibly helpful and service was top notch. The city is magic and the old city still offers a glimpse into ancient times and the streets had a hidden gems offering different crafts and hand made artifacts. Felt magical looking over the lake from the hotel roof at night.

I’m not sure where to start complementing about this Hotel. This Hotel is at the best location in Udaipur and despite being a 3 star hotel there are a lot of things which goes beyond the sub standard of hotels with this rating. Location, Hospitality and rooms were great but however, I felt the team at this Hotel can do a little bit more from food perspective. The Breakfast was quite disappointing and Dinner was okayish at their restaurant. Hope they work on this aspect to assure customers have an overall great experience.

We came here for dinner two days ago. The location is spectacular, the service is a complete shambles and the food was terrible. We were shown to a superb table on the roof top terrace overlooking the lake. The restaurant is located in a pretty hotel with a delightful central courtyard. That unfortunately is where the good parts end. Whilst there were plenty of waiting staff, it seemed they weren’t empowered to do much, ie show you to a table, take orders etc. it seemed that the manager had to do this. We waited 5 minutes to be shown to a table, c10 to get a menu and another age to order a drink. Having ordered food, this took c45 minutes. When it did come, it was a watery slop in a bowl with rice. When we asked for the bill, we had to wait for the manager to bring it. Having waited at least another 10 minutes, we got up to leave, at which point we were led downstairs to the till where 6 people were arguing about order issues. We obviously weren’t the only ones. Unfortunately avoid.

Great hotel to stay in Udaipur. Everything was just perfect. Lake view suits gives real royal experience. Breakfast was amazing. 2 3 min walk from city palace. They have roof top restaurant. Overall highly recommend.

Location is amazing. Evening time is better for best lake side dinner. Food is not so good. You should go only for good location and photographs otherwise if you wish for a good dinner and then move for other place

Ambience in the evening is extremely pleasant. Service is Slightly slow and the Prices don't really seem justified but I assume it is all for the view ? Food served was appreciable. A good place for a quite dinner. Will recommend sitting at the top terrace.

Review for restaurant only: i did not stay in hotel so can't comment on rooms. Visited restaurant based on it coming highly recommend in lonely planet with a 'star'. View is spectacular and probably the best in udaipur Food is fine but nothing special. Definitely overpriced for the quality. Service poor. Slow and unfriendly. Mistakes made by waiters on multiple occasions (had to ask twice for a menu, items missed off order, had to ask 3 times for the bill) If your main priority is a meal in a nice environment with a great view then this is a good place to visit. Just remember it is the view that you're paying a premium for not the food or service.

The place offers a spectacular lake side view and its elegant royal architecture actually gives you a vibe of visiting a Royal Palace. A candle night dinner at the rooftop restaurant gives it a very soothing ambience. Food taste was good as well. Overall must visit for the great ambience!

We went for breakfast when on a day trip to Udaipur. It was the perfect place to start the trip. It is located close to City Palace but because of road construction we had to drive around the old city to reach here. The view of the Lake Pichola from the place is awesome. The decor is just fab. You get the experience of being in a nice small palace.

It's a beautiful place to stay, they provide a great experience of royalty from morning breakfast at the lake side with sarangi music to beautiful rooms and candlelight dinner on the lakeside, luckily we were there on valentine's day. The staff is very cooperative and food is also very good.

Amazing Ambiance, so given 2 star. Breakfast is Buffet & Lunch is 12-3pm, after that you only get sandwich & pakoda for 300 bucks. The staff is not willing to serve. But they are Polite.

The menu is quite sad. Was expecting better food quality and choices, the place is so beautiful, you'd naturally expect it to reflect in their food as well. The food is just average. That aside, this might just be the prettiest restaurant in the locality. The seating by the lake is everything. A must visit.

This place needs no introduction ! Located lake side like hundreds of other restaurents or hotels but this place had my heart for its location and beauty. The place is serene and beautifully maintained..the white interiors make you calm as soon as you enter the place. The rooftop has one of the best views. Service is decent. Coming to food it is okaish, quantities are minimal compared to prices and taste wise it is average too. But worth a visit for the view and beautiful seating space and hotel interiors. Might be much more worth staying there considering the interiors.

The place is good, amazing view. Good is delicious. Only one complaint after our lunch we asked for a plate to cut our homemade birthday cake which was a gift to which they said you'll have to pay 650 service charge that was unreasonable.

  • 4/5 SAKSHI B. 2 years ago on Google
The place is situated on the bank of Lake Pichola. Very pretty ambience but the way to the hotel is a very narrow street where cabs cannot enter. We somehow struggled to reach the hotel and we went there especially to have lunch but were surprised as it was past 3:00 p.m. They closed their lunch counter and hence we came disappointed.

Will recommend it to everyone who is looking for a great time with family and friends. You name it and they have got your back to upheld a memorable experience for you. The Heritage room with the lake view is just everything you need in the city of lakes and so wholesome. We extended our stay just because we were so overwhelmed by it. There's more....the rooftop restaurant at night gives you the view of the city of Eldorado, the hospitality is the best out there. It is a win-win!

This time for a change I was really DISAPPOINTED , actually I was really really disappointed. I went there after let's say around 6 months or so and asked the staff if they have some healthy food options. They offered me watermelon and that was it, nothing else ? When I asked again they mentioned they have fruit Salad available. I asked them which are all the fruits in it? I was told watermelon. Just watermelon? I thought ok let's just have a good old Pizza as I felt the staff is really confused. I asked them if they have pizzas available the staff mentioned they don't but they can offer something similar. They came up with two slices of bread with some cheese on top and charged us same price as Pizza. I was quite disappointed. This bread ( Garlic bread) tasted average to below average and really no one sensible enough would call it a Pizza. I liked the managers their especially the captions but I just can't understand how come their waiters don't communicate well about the available food options and how can they compare two slices of bread with a pizza ? I love this place too much so I will not rate it down but honestly it was very disappointing and I do think they need to work on their staff specially related to communication skills.

If you are thinking to enjoy here a date, try dinner date and enjoy the sunset view also. It will increase the chances of your proposal's acceptance. Reservations are done within minutes, and the staff behavior was also appreciable. The taste of Soup, Pasta, and harabhara kabab was also delicious 😋. Thank you for serving us.

Great views from the restaurant. The hotel looks lovely and very neatly maintained. A good place for a romantic evening dinner on the roof top
