I was very disappointed with my visit to the Market. The prices were too high for the quality of the products. Most of the vegetables were not fresh and some were even rotten(avocado). The market was also very crowded, and there was no ample parking space. I had to park my car far away and walk through the traffic. The market is also too close to the main road and causes major traffic delays. I heard that KCCA is constructing a new market23, but I don’t know when it will be ready. I don’t think I will go back to Kitintale Market anytime soon. It was a waste of time and money.

Kitintale Market located a long Portbell Road to Luzira is a good place to buy local foods. It contains a variety of fresh local foods and of good quality. Prices are also friendly. The only challenge you would get is the parking space if you are driving.

This is a well situated local produce market for fresh variety of grocery needs like fruits( oranges, mangos, water melon, apples, pineapples, pumpkin). Vegetables(greens of all varieties). Foods (posho, rice, ground nuts, maize, soya and other cereals). Road side takeaway foods like roasted meat, grilled, deep fried, French fries, chapati, rolex, kikomando, goats meat, beef, chicken( live chicken, raw chicken, roasted, grilled and others). What you should not miss also is the fish (tilapia and nile perch), that will be the climax of visiting this market.

Kitintale Central Market is fully able to avail all manner of Ugandan food crops such as Matooke (Banana Plantains), Sweet Potatoes, Cassava, Irish potatoes, and many others. Meanwhile, the small shops supplement with other goods like laundry soap, detergents, cosmetics as well as dry/processed essentials like sugar, salt, groundnuts, soya and condiments for cooking. There are also kiosks that serve a variety of cooked food.

There is little to no parking, the market is accessed by jumping over a nasty foul drainage ditch. This market was poorly planned and targeted for pedestrian access. It is next to a busy roadside whose traffic is mostly residential. It is too far from the industrial centres has to few businesses around and most residents around it use cars.
