Beautiful setting to view hundreds of gregarious butterflies. They will land on you and hang out a while if you let them. Lovely plants and a few turtles. The highlight of the island for our group. No extra charge for admission.

Beautiful exhibit of some of the most beautiful butterflies. Few of them I had never seen before. Keep on lookout if you are afraid of the little creatures as one might be flying right over your head. No extra charge for entry. Had turtles too! <3

A well designed Green house type garden for butterflies - this one is a easy recommendation. Has a great collection of different species of butterflies. Even has a few turtles and birds inside. Helpful tip: Can have a long queue to get inside during peak times but is worth it. Also the temperature inside can be around 26 degree with humidity.

Beautiful small Island with lots of flowers, enchant trees and a butterfly house.

One of the best places to visit on the island, with so many varieties of butterflies located in a special greenhouse-type environment which is very humid and warm. The butterflies are not caged, so it is very common to see them fly across walkways from flower to flower and overage them in a natural habitat. A must visit on the Insel Mainau!
