Jantar mantar is a must see place specially if you are traveling with kids! Its a part of our history which should be shown to our kids. The place is very clean and well maintained! You can also visit the banks of river from Behind the Jantar mantar! There is also a Hanuman temple near it which is a good and peaceful place to visit.

If you love to explore science thing and related to astrology. You like to visit this place. It's entry fee is 10 Rs per person. I visited it on Sunday. And there were few person. You can explore old mechanism and other technique of time related. And it's 1000 years old technology and still it's accurate. Must visit if you love to know history, old technology and astrology.

It's a decent place. It's advisable to get a guide who will explain how all the apparatus works. It's located right in the heart of the city. Could have improved on service. The place didn't open on time and made people wait and there were no enough guides. The head of that place has to explain stuff to us. Clean place though, but washrooms could have been better.

Jantar Mantar Vaidh Shala in Ujjain is an exceptional place for traditional healing and Ayurvedic treatments. The ambiance is serene, with knowledgeable staff and skilled vaidyas who offer personalized care. The use of authentic herbs and therapies ensures a rejuvenating experience. However, the facility could benefit from improved cleanliness and organization. Overall, it's a great destination for those seeking holistic healing and ancient remedies in Ujjain.

This is totally historical places where old methods are shown which tell how time and other things were seen during that time. With every model, there are 2 boards in which details are mentioned in Hindi and English for understanding the concept behind that. Overall good place if you are really like invention and time can be spent.

A well organised observatory. The authorities have succeeded in maintaining the historical significance of this place.... But as all the instruments are complex to understand and information of them is not sufficient to understand their working... Guides are also very few and and slogy... The QR also doesn't provide us the necessary info about that particular instrument... The solution that came in my mind is to increase the no. Of guides, if necessary increase the visiting charges in order to generate more revenue and improve this place for tourists attraction.....

Giving two star because it Need maintenance and the sphere theatre show is so bad and the room stinks, one noteworthy thing is that they have installed scan code so that people can understand the concept but I feel a personal guide would have been better.

Raja Sawai Jai Singh, who was very much interested in astronomy, created the observatories in various cities like Jaipur, Delhi, Kashi, Agra and Ujjain. We have visited the Jantar Mantar in Jaipur previously, so this time we decided to visit this one as well while we were in Ujjain. It's as beautiful as the Jaipur one. A lot of the instruments still seems to be in fine conditions. Do pay it a visit while in Ujjain.

This time observatory was formed by Maharaja Jai Singh. It has various unorthodox clocks which tell time by the help of the movement of the sun through the day. It also has a model of our solar system and a planetarium, although the later needs upgradation. This is a good place for an outing with kids. Usually takes an hour or so without the planetarium show.

If you are into stars and skies and are craving for some peace and quiet time after experiencing the rush and thrill of mahakal lok, Jantar Mantar is the place to be. Flanked by Shipra river, this observatory is well maintained, dotted with beautiful plants and trees and has numerous spots to click for the selfie janta :p The place closes at around 5 in the evening so the best time to visit would be around 3-4 in the afternoon..the ghat situated adjacent to the place is beautiful and very peaceful too!

Very interesting place. One amongst 3 remaining in the country. Jaipur one is larger than this place. The guide was interesting .. had a trick to make tourists shellmout money to him. But he gave a good info of available units. Can a good wash room and drinking water be made available here ???

Jantar Mantar or Vedh Shala is located in the holy city of New Ujjain. It is an observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in 1725 which consists of 13 architectural astronomy instruments. The observatory is one of the five observatories built by Maharaja Jai Singh II when he was governor of Ujjain.

Must visit place to see ujjain completely. 10 rps entry is nothing for such a neat n clean science park

  • 4/5 Pragya S. 2 years ago on Google
I visited it when i was younger and now after so many days when revisiting ujjain. They have developed significantly the place since then , what was lacking is something to explain the structures in simpler understandable terms. If you wish visit then Better do it in daytime , as most of them depend on daylight.
