It us Famous shaktipeeth of Ujjain. Ma vigrah is in the face form and she looks very compassionate as well as protective for bhakts. It is a temple which one must visit in Ujjain. One may cross the bridge over river and go to Kal Bhairav temple. The road further takes to Matsyendranath samadhi and Bhrirthari cave.

Visit This Place..... Gadkalika Temple is an ancient Hindu shrine dedicated to Goddess Kali that dates back to the period of the Mahabharata war. However, the idol of Goddess Kalika is said to be even older than the temple as it is claimed to be of the era of Satyuga

Now in March it's buring and literally it's very difficult to roam in summer. And must visit nice small temple. And there are lot of temples to visit.✌️😊

At a distance of 5 km from Ujjain Junction, Gadhkalika is a sacred Hindu temple located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Situated near Bhartrihari Caves, it is one of the must include places in Ujjain Darshan, and among the famous places to visit in Ujjain. Gadkalika Temple is an ancient Hindu shrine dedicated to Goddess Kali that dates back to the period of the Mahabharata war. However, the idol of Goddess Kalika is said to be even older than the temple as it is claimed to be of the era of Satyuga. The temple was renovated in the 7th century by King Harshvardhan. The temple has been rebuilt in modern times by the erstwhile Gwalior State. Due to its location near the village of Gad, this temple got the name of Gadkalika Mandir. Popularly called as Ujjain Mahakali, the temple is one of the eighteen Shakti Peethas where the upper lip of goddess Sati fell here. The Gadkalika Temple holds tremendous religious significance, especially among students as it is believed to be the place where Kalidas worshipped Maa Gadkalika, and gained knowledge. The legend goes that the great poet Kalidasa was originally uneducated, but with his great devotion to the goddess Kalika, he acquired unparalleled literary skills. Though it is not a Shakti Peetha and due to its location in the region of Harsiddhi, it holds an equal importance to that of a Shakti Peetha. The walls of the temples are carved with lovely curvatures of various gods and holy signs. Regular prayers and aartis are conducted in the evening hours. Staring into the glory of the immaculately sculpted idol of Goddess Kalika is a divine experience, just like attending the soul-cleansing morning and evening aarti. Navratri is the major festival celebrated here with much fervor that draws thousands of devotees.

Gadkalika temple is located on the road leading to Shri Kalabhairav temple. We visited Kalabhairav temple first and then in return we had Maa Darshan here. This temple is situated in between Kalabhairav and Mahakal temple. its @ 4 km away from Mahakal temple and 2.5 km from Kalabhairav temple. It is believed that the deity in this temple is worshipped by Poet Kalidas. The legend goes that the great poet Kalidas was originally uneducated, but with his great devotion to the goddess Gadkalika here, he acquired unparalleled literary skills. Specialty of this temple: 1. This temple is popularly called as Ujjain Mahakali 2. This temple is one of the eighteen Shakti peethas where the upper lip of goddess sati fell here. 3. This temple is located near the village of Gad, hence this temple is famous with the name Gadkalika Mandir. 4. In this temple Maa Durga is situated in the form of Kalika. In the sanctum Maa Face is highlighted and clearly visible along with decorated ornaments. 5. Kalika Devi in this temple is different from other Kalika' s idol such that it is in saffron color rather than black color. 6. It is claimed that this Maa Gadkalika is here since Satyuga. Temple timings: Morning 06:00 to Evening 09:00

Scared place 🙏 Must Visit who have any kind of "Dosh" / "दोष"..... 1. Location📍 can go through GoogleMap 😉 2. Parking 🅿 available (no charges). 3. Puja can be done at ease, only flowers bowl is required. Rest can plan accordingly. 4. Angareshwar temple, Sandipni Muni ka Ashram, Mangalnath temple are near by i.e., on th way. 5. Tea, snacks, etc. are available outside i.e., on main road. 6. Staffs are co-operative and polite. 7. Mobile & Camera 📷 are not allowed but you can take pics. Negatives 1. Cleanliness is also required in temple.

This temple is ujjain,MP state. This are the site scenes of in ujjain district. Nice Mandir of Mata kali named Gadhkalika. At noon, half an hour of AARATI has been done significantly. Recommend to visit once at that time if possible. Near that another two Mandir have to be seen, one of GANESHA and other GOMATA ancient caves.
