From prehistoric times thru the ages with artifacts and clothing. The details on their bridles and saddles from 600 BC onwards is amazing.. Europeans were living in huts while the Mongols were decorating, with intricate designs, their horses. Gave me a whole new perspective on the word, "civilization". Take your time and read about the displays for they are fascinating.

The Fine Arts Zanabazar Museum is a breathtaking treasure trove of artistic masterpieces. The collection of Buddhist art is beyond words, with stunning sculptures and paintings that captivate the senses. A must-visit for art enthusiasts, it's an awe-inspiring experience that leaves you in awe of Mongolia's rich cultural heritage. Please note that the museum only accepts cash for payment. They do not accept credit cards at this time. I paid ₮10,000 (about $4)for entrance ticket (not being able to take photos or videos inside the museum) Photo ticket : ₮45,000 Video ticket: ₮90,000

For just over 4 Euros you can get to see some really interesting art, the old and the very modern side by side in this quaint little gallery. Was very quiet the day I went in, early on a Tuesday morning, so it was very nice to walk around and take it all in, in my own pace and with little noise......all very peaceful and reflective. Enjoyed the hour or so I spent here.

Two floors of Mongolian art. The descriptions at the entrance of each room give a great overview of the art. The room with embroidered paintings was incredible.

This fine arts museum is one of the rare museums in Mongolia which is able to capture the history of art in the country. the museum offers audio guides which are free for everyone, and also coming English. They're collection of appliquer and paintings and other traditional Mongolian art is second to none. The appliquer you will see is the biggest in the country and their pieces are so impressive.

This is an ok museum, probably the best Mongolia can do for old Buddhist stuff. I rate it low because foreigners have to pay more than locals and then they follow you around saying "don't take photos" or "you have to pay extra for photos". The photo ticket is 4 times more than the entry ticket, which is crazy. Mongolia seems to be all about trying to extract money from foreigners.

Visited this museum after read review here. Need to pay extra if you want to take picture of relics. And I’m happy to know about this place now. I went here late afternoon around 4pm and spend 2hours until it’s close time, but not enough. This place shows history about Mongolia buddhism. I was quite interesting that it make me extrapolating how buddhism reach Korean peninsular through Mongolia. :)

Small museum full of masterpieces. I did't use audio guide, just read descriptions in English. I appreciate that everything was translated.

Interesting exhibits. If you get the audio guide, be prepared to stand in front of each exhibit for up to 10 minutes. I think Mongolians have a different way of talking about history. For me the guide is very repetitive and too detailed. But interesting nonetheless

some good exhibits (not on scale of national museum). for me 30mins was enough. 15k MNT entry, photo fee 45k MNT - not worth it as quite a number of rooms have 'no photo' signs

The art curator style of this museum should be improved.

I would have to say that it was a small but very interesting little history of Mongolian Art. The tools of the smiths were an interesting addition as well as the paintings of the 2013 politaical upheavals. Maybe needed a few more translations in English, French etc to give the tourists a better chance to understand the exhibits.

I came during museum week and was told to pay for a ticket! Other museums let us in ok, and they let other visitors in free of charge as well! This is ridiculous! They are a disgrace to themselves and their city!
