I love the concept of this building, bringing together food and books, with a fantastic selection of bakery, café, Restaurants and bars and the national library sitting one floor above. This bakery offers breakfast to the guests of the hotel (also located in the same building) but it is also open to the general public, for a delicious buffet including waffles! I had an incredibly good cinnamon bun and enjoyed my coffee too! In the evening, I saw many guests eating what looked like a delicious pizza but I did not have the chance To try it! Definitely a place worth checking out!

Love the seats and whole setup

We were only in Umeå for 2 days but visited this place about 4 times because we loved it so much. The staff were great, every baked good or food we tried was delicious and the location was perfectly tucked between a modern library and a boutique little food shop with tonnes of tasty treats. We are specially stopping by Umeå on our return journey just to visit this place one more time.

We lived in U&Me hotel and had the breakfast at Kulturbageriet included. Despite the overall very good feedback we didn’t enjoy the food. The staff didn’t refill if any cutlery was gone, if foods were empty at the buffet or similar. No water was served at all and the bread was sloppy and didn’t taste at all like ‘artisan bread culture’. I think the overall concept is really good by having breakfast at a bakery but with a few steps it could be improved so much!

Best pastries in town and I love their chai latte! Additionally to sweet pastries you can get fresh bread and the atmosphere is cosy.

Really nice bakery with some of the best bread in town. They make a really nice variety, with some amazing sourdoughs. Highly recommended to check it out and pick something up. You will not be disappointed. They also try to be active in the breadmaking community. They will happily give you some starter, and they even have breadmaking class a couple times a year.

Quite pricy, and not very tasty food in my opinion (for the price anyway). Very loud place due to the open space and poor acoustics. Not suitable if you want a place to relax and have a normal-tone conversation. Does have some locally-produced items, which is good.

Very good lingonberry sourdough bread ! You really need to try it with jam, butter, cheese or artichoke cream yummy 😋. The margarita pizza have a good taste ! The roll pizza need to be test specially if you like kebab flavour. Try the raspberry grotta or the cannelbull 😍 or all the pastries.

A bit pricey 😵‍💫 but I must say the cake was still very yummy

The place serves good coffee & pastry indoors. The poor rating is due to the shabbiness and dirty cushions on rattan furniture as well as the ugly tray racks that are placed so you look at them from the best seats. They are also very noisy when the waitress moves them around. Bathroom dirty and so is cafe floors at 11 am. A good manager could easily get the place in good shape.
