The coolest spot in umkomaas! Both the restaurant and diving staff are very friendly and professional. I trusted them with my 11 year who went diving for the first time. She was very nervous and the entire team just cheered her on... they have a restuarant on site. The food is good and well priced on the almost cheap side. Its your typical local bar where everyone knows one another and you feel at home.

There are no words to describe our fantastic holiday with the guys of blue ocean dive resort. We had an amazing trip with sharks, Whales, sardine run and everything we could wish for. The whole crew is just amazing and really caring about all our needs. Thanks to everyone who made this trip unforgettable for us, especially to Nicki, Gary, Mickie and Rae and of course all of our skippers. We just arrived home and starting missing all of you guys ❤️ definitely coming back next year and hope to see all of you again. Thank you so much for everything ❤️🥰

Spent the week diving with the BODR team. Most excellent choice, lekker like a cracker even ! Had dived with others here on previous trips thought we'd try BODR, for a change and delighted we did. Facilities at the base are as good as anywhere we've dived worldwide - clear communication, great organisation pre departure each day, good hire gear, friendly service from Crystal and AD who are always on hand to assist, great dive guides (Kyle and Rae) and expert boat skippers Malcolm and Cam will get you out and back safely thru the surf break along with great sense of humour and customer service from the team too. These guys know the sites, baited shark dives are excellent and reef dives were pretty good too. The reef Viz can be up and down (they can't control that!!) Whatever the conditions they work hard to try make every dive a good one. When you get back hot showers and great wash down areas to clean dry gear, excellent camera bay for charging set up and safe storage of gear, hot coffee and toast and a great restaurant on site if you want it. Faultless, will definitely use these guys in future when we return - thanks for an awesome time, our family loved diving with you guys !!

Not bad for new years day. Ambiance was good. Steak was cooked as requested. Pizza was good. Staff were great. Beer was cold. Would recommend .

I did my advanced open water and the rescue diver with the family of Blue Ocean. And I loved everything about my stay, the diving and the courses. From being warmly welcomed when I entered the dive center, through taking time and patience to find the right fitting gear for me, felt always very save on the boat rides and enjoyed the incredibly beautiful Aliwal Shoal a lot. When coming back there are showers and towels prepared, the gear is taken care of so you don’t have to clean it yourself and the restaurant which serves such good food is right there. They got an amazingly well organised process in diving everyday and a family atmosphere which I appreciate a lot. If I could give them 10 stars I would still go for 11 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The food is okay, they say it's 21 aged steak. It certainly is not. If you ask for mustard - they charge you. The server was lovely but should of let me know prior, not going to go broke over R25 but it's the principle. Been there 3 times this week but a simple thing as a charge on R25 for a tablespoon on mustard & I'm telling you now it's not 21 day aged steak. Good vibe but there is too many staff & some will sit on the counter whilst it's quite. Won't be returning but in all fairness.

Superb stay at Blue Ocean. A very well organized diving center, attentive and competent staff. We're totally on vacation, they take care of everything ❤️ A top guide: Rae who went out of her way on each dive to find us and bring sharks to the exit of the water. The boat trip can be difficult because of the waves and swell, take medication against seasickness for sensitive people. Comfortable hotel, the rooms are clean. Restaurant and bar right next to the center with a beautiful menu and generous dishes. In short, we are keen to come back…

Loved it!!!! ❤️ Great experience. The dives delivered all I could wish for. Sharks, dolphins, rays, turtles, colorful fish and beautiful reefs. Blue ocean 🌊 will get my best recommendations. The dive staff were professional, helpful and outstanding in every way. Everything was organized and I could relax and concentrate about next dive as everything was catered for. My equipment was washed and dried after each dive day. The tank was changed during the surface time between the dives, everything ready for departure the next mooring. Only thing you had to do was suit up and eat a sea sick pill. The food in the restaurant was fantastic! As well as the team serving us. Best of all the lovely people at the center making my vacation 🤩 perfect 👍

Always have a great experience at this place. The food is good, and the pizzas are to die for. Waitresses are friendly and efficient, and pensioners discount is an added bonus. Nice relaxed vibe.

The dive centre is very well operated. Everything works well, and the people are friendly, fun and helpful. Everything was very professional and safe. The restaurant is good, has a nice view and offers tasty food in satisfying meal sizes. The bar is also a popular venue at night. I like it a lot how they handle the breakfast for diving guests. The resort / hotel is OK, but needs a renovation, which is ongoing at the moment. I didn't rate my diving experience, because it's about Blue Ocean and nature has it's own mind... When i was there the conditions haven't been so well. The diving was OK, but could have been better.

Amazing experience! Everyone was really welcoming, we enjoyed a little breakfast together then went out to the ocean. We stopped to see the whales swim right next to us. We saw 5 or 6 humpback whales and also a mom with her calf playing. They also breached the water, amazing show. We saw them both on our way to the diving spot and on the way back and the skipper stopped anytime we saw them and got near them (but not too close to scare them). Once on the diving spot we dove and swam with so many Black Tip sharks and other fishes. Very good experience. Once back we were given towels and soap to have a nice hot shower and change. 10/10

We had breakfast at the restaurant for my sister's birthday. Such an amazing restaurant to visit. Food was very delicious and a great variety to choose from. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would recommend everyone visit this restaurant

Fantastic! The team at Blue Ocean is simply awesome. Super organised and friendly, they made my visit there a great experience. They are professional but know how to have fun. The dives were really good and nothing was an effort for them. Conveniently located in Umkomaas they made the departure and travel to the Aliwal Shoal effortless. The very experienced skipper and helpful dive guide could not do enough to ensure I had a good time. Plus the amenities are super! Hot showers with towels and extras provided after the dive, good quality gear and safe parking. Plus they have great accomodation and a restaurant and bar right there. Everything a diver or someone that wants to start diving needs. Well done! I hope to be back soon.

Been diving with them since 2018. Best people to dive with in Aliwal almost year round and their bar can get very festive. Good food menu to. If you lucky enough to be around for the sardine run book to go with them down the wild coast!

Great service, excellent menu with lots of veggie options and delicious food. A little bit noisy but the food was worth it.

We highly recommend checking this place out. The staff is the perfect blend between professionalism and friendliness you really see them as a family. We felt very welcomed there. The bar is great, offers a whole range of food. There also were experienced divers. But it was our first diving experience and thanks to Mikey (best instructor!) we felt safe and the experience was fun.

Great place to eat, and very friendly staff. The food is far above average, and the portions are very generous. The hotel has seen a bit better days and the bathrooms are not very clean and modern, but still not so bad that I wouldn't go back again. All in all a very great experience. Well done guys, keep it up.

I had the absolute best time doing my advanced open water course at Blue Ocean Dive Resort. My instructor, Rae, ensured that I was safe and comfortable throughout the entire course and pointed out so many interesting things on the dives. I got to see sharks, dolphins, a turtle, whales breaching, crayfish, a massive ship wreck and tons of fish. You could even hear the whales singing underwater 😍 The ocean can be quite rough along the south coast but the skippers are such pros and will keep you laughing throughout the ride. The staff is absolutely wonderful and I will definitely be back for more dives.

For now, nothing much. Just great full of my fellow brother what he have accomplished so far.
