Lovely place! Just a pity about the behaviour of some of the young staff members after finishing their shift at the restaurant (9pm in the evenings. Woke us up both nights with their rowdinesss & swearing. Had to get up & go speak to them. No respect for the guests whatsoever. Manager didn't seem too concerned or apologetic either, which to me was rather disappointing!

Very friendly and helpful staff. I had to change our booking a few times and Jacky was always eager to accommodate us. Beautiful campsite with green grass and immaculate ablutions. They even clean at night. Appreciated the home cooked meals at the Restaurant. Will be back!

We spend the night at River Destiny Lodge on our way back to Cpt. The units are spotless & very comfy beds. It is situated close to the N1 but behind a mountain far enough away that you feel safe and no traffic noise at night. Beautiful view over the Orange River from the deck and pool- if you are into fishing this would be a perfect spot to fish. We had dinner at the restaurant. Can recommend the lamb curry😋. They also have a kids menu. Each unit has braai facilities, would be lovely to braai on the green lawn outside during summer. We will be back! Thank you Jackie and team!!

May 2010 Arriving at the lodge, Hein Pretorius had a look at the Safari Tent but liked the chalets overlooking the Orange River better. Luckily they had a chalet available. The chalet is open plan bedroom and kitchen with bathroom. No shower. They have Lux soap dispensers at the bath and basin – what a wonderful idea! Maybe more chalets & guesthouses should explore this option. Unpacking the crates from the car (not unpacking the clothes – quite unlike my usual self), we had a drink on the lookout. The river flowed steadily and we could see the highway’s bridge with trucks and cars passing by. There’s also a big swimming pool outside the restaurant. With a restaurant on the premises, we booked for dinner and breakfast in advance. A lovely halfway stop from Jo'burg to Cape.

This place is ideal for a halfway stop. They have camping facilities and self catering facilities. There is a restaurant if you are not in the mood for a braai with your neighbor's. The staff is helpfull and friendly!

Nice restourant with great service. 5km stretch of dirt road to the lodge witch was in bad condition after some heavy rains. Beautiful place with nice views over the orange river. Very affordable too. Great stopover half way to Capetown area

Rooms were clean and good value for money. Ideal for our stop over between Jhb and the Eastern Cape. The food at the restaurant was incredible and well received by both adults and children alike!
