Spent two nights at Tzamenkomst River Lodge on the way down from Gauteng to Mossel Bay and back. This is the perfect overnight stop which could easily be extended into a short, relaxing holiday. From the warm welcome by Jean-Marie to the very comfortable and spotless rooms, exceptional setting (especially the sunsets and views across the Orange River), great wholesome food, log fires and obliging staff, we thoroughly enjoyed our two stopovers. Tzamenkomst is way better than any other accommodation we have stayed at in the Colesberg/Gariep area. Great value for money too! Highly recommended.

Lovely place for stopover or holidays. The river lodge is really nice and the food is great. Family rooms are in the farm building that is nearby but you need a car. Great shower pressure and bathtub. We had a good night.

Amazing place! Loved everything about it, including the dog! Only improvement I would suggest is maybe get smaller plates for food to be eaten in rooms because ours couldn't fit in the microwave. Other than that, loved it - would go back again!

What a wonderful weekend away. Really enjoyed our stay. Jean-Mari was so welcoming, we enjoyed our game drive, lovely relaxing weekend.

What a special experience ! We were on route from the Western in Limpopo. First we came in late - and we request our own braai facilities. No issues…just friendly en helpful people. I even got a birthday cake…what a surprise ! A HUGE thank you to every one for making our stay one to remember. We will be back !!

Tsamenkomst was an absolute oasis for us after a long day on the road. Such friendly and accommodating service. The setting on the bank of the orange river is just mangnificant. A sunset swim in the rim flow pool was indescribable!

We stopped over for one night on our way from KZN to Oudtshoorn. We were greated by friendly staff, had a delicious dinner and buffet breakfast the next morning. We stayed in Stable 3, which was very spacious with all the comforts. We really enjoyed iur stay. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful stay. Very friendly service. Great self help, small buffet style breakfast. If you are stopping by between your road trip to Cape Town it is definitely worth staying an extra night.

En route to Knysna, Tzamenkomst River Lodge served as the perfect halfway stop for us on our journey. I was blown away by the scenic views and the friendly service. I am even more impressed with the cleanliness of their rooms. Lee-Ann in particular was super helpful in assisting me with everything I needed. We will definitely be making this our usual stop! Such a beautiful place! Scenery is stunning, rooms have been done with such style and precision! Very clean and such tranquility throughout the lodge. The food is delicious and the staff are professional and helpful. I would recommend to anyone looking for a break, or traveling for work or leisure.

We have stayed at Tzamenkomst on our way down to Tsitsikama. Location worked for us as it is right off N1 past Gariepdam. But! From the moment of making the booking, we were impressed by their service and hospitality! Communication has been wonderful! Our rooms have been freshly remodeled, very tastefully decorated and very clean. Dinner and breakfast have been delicious and staff really have gone above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable! Add to that a beautiful sunset over the Orange River whilst having dinner, and you want to stay longer! Thank you!

The best place to be , the view is amazing if i could i would of given this place a 10 star rating, Lee-Ann was so helpful though our stay and she help us on sort notice eveyone there is so friendly we enjoyed our stay so much , the food is amazing, definitely the place to be if you on your way to cape Town it's in the middle. Don't hesitate just book you won't be disappointed.

World class. Extraordinary. Bewildering. Otherworldly. Enchanting. These are the first words that came to mind as I’m entering Tzamenkomst. What a profound experience, this place is a little piece of heaven just off the highway before Colesberg. Super accessible and well placed. Once you are in the premises you get the feeling that you are somewhere remote and off the grid. The facilities are beyond comprehension and the staff are truly the definition of hospitality. If you are a mountain biking enthusiast this place can be use as a Cape Epic training camp. These trails are surreal and super challenging yet provides lot of stoke. On the trails you get to do your own game drive and experience world class riding. I’m in awe of what has been created here and will recommend this place a 100 times over. It’s really rare as an adventure enthusiast to find a place that ticks every box and Tzamenkomst does just that. Hats off to Marc Adam and team, unbelievable.

Second stay here. Great place if you’re sleeping over while travelling. They’re geared for it and will pack a breakfast if you need to hit the road again. Stunning location as well.

We spent a night at the Birds Hide, last week. The peace and quite, along with a well kitted chalet for just the two of us was great. Very clean, neat and tidy. Waking up and seeing the waterbuck sleeping on the grass next to the river was a great site. We will certainly stopover again.
