Spent one night in the city on the way to Cape Town, restaurant is very good, our hotel manager recommended as local restaurant. There is also A small gift shop.

#supportlocal Traditional South African meals prepared with love. Friendly and fast service. Really worth the slight turn off from N1 at Colesberg. We has babotie, lamb chops and lamb shank for dinner.

Delicious food - we had the lamb shank for dinner and thought it was very good value for money. Drinks (spirits) on the other hand - I ordered a double Karoo craft gin & mixer, and the price was nearly the same as a lamb shank meal 😂

Stopped by for lunch passing through Colesberg. Had the bobotie and chicken salad. Food was simply outstanding. Landlord was friendly and staff too. Looking forward to stopping by again in the future.

Very cool place with cute 🐑 can be bought as well as home made jams, risks and biscuits. Service is excellent and food very tasty. Will for sure support them again.

Was a pity the chicken schnitzel was out a box and not handmade with a handmade crumb and the cheese sauce was from a packet. The lamb shank should be served with an option of not having any sauce poured all over it. We were disappointed as we were looking forward to proper homemade food and chose this restaurant over other options

Sweet little restaurant in Colesberg. Had the most delicious pumpkin fritters; reminded me of my granny’s. I ate the karoo platter - a LOT of lamb which made for an incredibly rich in fat meal but it was delicious. Wine selection is tiny.

The overall experience was good. Food was filling and good portions. They did not have the lamb chops that I wanted. The lamb curry was a far cry from an Indian style curry. Think lamb stew with a heavy brown sauce with a hint of curry powder added. The malva pudding was light and fluffy but the custard seemed to be very processed and not made fresh. The vegetable choices were traditional and tasted great. The staff was friendly.

What a fantastic experience on a rainy Sunday night. We were warmly welcomed and received excellent service from our bubbly waitress, Lucille. The food was of outstanding quality. We would highly recommend the lamb shank as well as the bobotie. The chips that accompanied the chicken burgers was perfectly crispy. For dessert we can recommend the peppermint crisp tart as well as the chocolate mousse. A perfect stop when in Colesberg.

Service was a little slow to start off with, but after the waitress evetually took our drinks order, it was a while before she was back. Menu is reasonably priced for small portions. Atmosphere is okay and all in all a good experience

A beautifully rustic, historic place reminiscent of a more beautiful era, paraffin lamps, lovely nighttime atmosphere. The food... I ordered a Lamb curry which was produced in the kitchens of heaven. The craft gin was exquisite! Service is homely and fast, food doesn't take too long to prepare. Update:While the waitress is amazing, management has questionable ethics when it comes to drinks. The Gin is advertised as R55.00, but what is not mentioned, is that the mix is charged separately at around R20 extra. This is the only splinter in a really lovely restaurant..

The restaurant is very rustic. Has a lovely craft gin menu. Only 3 on the menu but worth a try. The tonic changes color. As a vegetarian they had a veg lasagna which was awesome!!! If you're sleeping over in Colesburg you should have dinner here.

Many restuarants could learn a thing or two of how to make deliscious vegetarian dishes from Die Plattelander. The lamb chops were devine! The lekker plaas veggies with them were a treat.

My first time to stop over in Colesberg. I will not pass this restaurant next time I drive past here. Delicious, succulent, divine, awesome food and fantastic friendly and effective service. And a thunderstorm outside to top it off. Great experience.

For our chapters annual flagship rally we went to die Platerlander for lunch and every single member was seriously impressed by the service as well as how delicious the food was. The friendly service was really great as all 64 bikers were welcomed in at the front gate. Thank you from H.O.G. ROC 🙏🏻
