Excellent place for a stopover on the way to Cape Town! Comfortable spacious rooms, very friendly and attentive staff, amazing supper and breakfast, beautiful surrounds! Saw flamingos and blue cranes at the dam! Update July 2023: we stayed over in the paddocks with friends (family of 4), and it was such a treat! Wonderful rooms with everything you need (and the rooms were pre-warmed!). We pre-ordered supper, and we enjoyed a delicious home-made lamb curry with rice and roasted vegetables - fantastic after a long day of driving. Special thanks to Patricia who met us and showed us to our rooms. Muffins and yogurt and home made rusks were a perfect get-up-and-go breakfast. Cant wait for our next stay, and next time i'm booking 2 nights just to enjoy Kuilfontein a bit more!

Kuilfontein is the ideal overnight stop between the coast and Joeys! Great hospitality, delicious tappas-style dinner and a generous breakfast makes this a delightful farm stay. We will be back.

Best thing for a stopover on N1 is its proximity to N1. Right on the road and safe parking and a very good dinner even through loadshedding. The rooms are adequate but the Farmstall was dissapointing to what you google although they promised best breakfast but we were leaving early next day

Great stop over on our way done to the coast. Farm food ready to be heated in the fridge with something cold to drink - very conveniant. Nice green grass for the kids to play and run on after hours of sitting in the car.

Fantastic stopover point. Conveniently located just off the N1, this seems to be a very popular spot to stay the night before continuing on a journey. Most of the other guests had been here before. We stopped here on our journey to Lesotho and stayed in the stables. We stayed here at the end of winter, and this was the only accomodation we stayed in SA that actually had heating in the rooms and also a heated mattress pad. It was -5C at night and we were very comfortable and cozy. They also have a very cozy communal sitting area and bar where you can socialize with other guests. Dinner was absolutely amazing! We had the traditional Karoo lamb and it did not disappoint. Dinner was 250R per person and you will get a starter, a lovely salad, a main and sides, and dessert. Breakfast is included and they had some great options and even an option to take breakfast to go if you are leaving very early. Lots of kind employees and service is top notch. Grant (one of the owners) also gave us some great tips for the rest of our trip. If this is on your route, you must stay and definitely eat here! Highly recommend.

Fantastic service, lovely breakfast. Self -catering option is pet-friendly. We arrived at 10pm and our beds had been warmed up thanks to electric blankets. They are more responsive by phone than email and will call before you arrive with instructions in case it is late at night. Amazing scenery, super friendly staff. The perfect halfway stop between Johannesburg and Cape Town.

A very well run establishment that has been around for many years. Clean, comfortable and very convenient with their delicious pre-made meals waiting for you when you arrive if you stay in the self catering accommodation. The pool, farm dogs, trampline and tree house keeps the kids busy! The owners are always around to check on operations and guests. You won’t be disappointed.
